Virtualization for Office 2010 issue.

Hi all.  I'm new to ThinApp and try to virtualize Office 2010.  I followed all the steps in the blog, as well as some of the other tips.  I used a Windows XP VM to virtualize, and I can run Office applications on other XP machines.

When I click on help in one of the Office applications, Excel goes into a setting mode, then I get various error messages:

1st error is

Microsoft Office Excel MUI (English) 2010

Error 1719.  The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly.  Contact your support team.

The 2nd error is:

CLView cannot display help.  The feature is not available.

I tried the XP workstation I installed on the desktop and am able to successfully launch the help files.  I did not open one of the applications during the capture process.  Installation on the Workstation Service is running, and I activated CLView.exe in the package.ini, but none of it worked.  I did search but did not find anything that helps.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Dave

Dave,

It is a known problem in 4.6.1, please wait for a fix in future releases.

Thank you

Paul

I have Office 2007 installed, and this morning (May 14), I was alerted to 9 new updates for my 32-bit computer. It updates for Office 2010, but online documentation makes no mention of this Office 2007 application update, it refers only to Office 2010.

Can I hide the Office 2010 update or install it?

8 other updates have been installed.

    Hello

Based on my research and available content from Microsoft, the KB 2825635 update applies only to the Office 2010 package.

Here is the link that will list the updates deployed by Microsoft for Office packages in may 2014.

When you request support, please provide the number of name and/or product of comprehensive model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models which are all different. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are at the bottom of your computer or inside the battery compartment.

Microsoft Office 2010 is available in a special edition on many HP computers. This program is not free and should have was commissioned and paid for by you, you receive a product key. If you order Office 2010 and pay extra for it, the pre-installed version is trial-ware or 'Starter' and you will need to purchase the full version.

  • RIM blackBerry Smartphones is not yet ready for Office 2010?

    I'm afraid...

Office 2010 was posted 3 months ago (office 2010RTM was released from 01.Intro March 2010!)

And yet BB / RIM can't program a connector, which allows you to synchronize with Outlook 2010.

I paid a lot of money for my BB Storm - now im wonder what for?

I bet Apple wouldn't take so long...

When there is a synchronization with Outlook 2010 software?

How long we customers must wait?

I paid for Office 2010 - I paid for the technology.

But at the present time, BB is far from technology - im really thinking to replace it with a Windows phone or Apple i-phone!

    Its just too sad...

  • Laptop HP G62-451SA: cannot read the label for Office 2010 product key as it dissipated over time

Obliged to restore settings after a total crash.

Spent the whole day as recommended by HP, including using my recovery disk that has failed.

Tried to open Microsoft Office 2010 as usual, but said to give the product key to activate it.  Mine is on a sticker on the bottom of my laptop.  Unfortunately it is place to be where it is that some of the numbers have disappeared over time.  Now I can read only the last 15 digits.

Ages worn on Microsoft support pages and basically they said that the onus to solve this problem since I legally paid for it when buying their product to HP.

I'll lose more than a year of work, if I can't get this sort.

    Thank you.

The label on the bottom of your laptop is not for the office. It's your Windows license key. It should say Windows 7 Home Premium above the numbers.

Most of the HP machines come with a trial of office unless order you it with more full Office and pay extra. The trial usually actually works after the period 60 day trial - unless you do a recovery. After a recovery it will require you to buy a license key to use.

  • Product key for Office 2010

    Hello

I found that office 2010 is installed on my computer. But its product key please. Kindly tell me the product key.

If you need any information about this, please let me know.

    Zulfi.

If you want Microsoft PowerPoint, and then you will need to purchase a license key for the version of Microsoft Office Home & Student. This is the most inexpensive license for Microsoft Office available.

An alternative is to use office productivity software open source. The best is Apache Open Office. You can create commercial-quality documents & spreadsheets with the suite which can be read, open, and published by Microsoft Office.

Here is a link to the download page of Apache Open Office.
It is completely valid and is totally free.

  • ThinApp mailing - Activation Office 2010 issue

    Hi all

I'm new to this community, so forgive me if I did not follow the normal protocol with this discussion.

Basically I have Thinapped a piece of software called Civica App. The software itself works well until I try to use the mail merge with MS Word 2010. Our Office 2010 Pro, use KMS activation and is installed in the base image. The suite Office 2010 products see the activated when launch you them manually in the VDI environment, so I know KMS works well.

When we run the mailing of the Civica App Thinapp he launches Word 2010, merges the data into the Word template, and then launches the Office 2010 Installer. The installation program will fail and then we get the infamous "Microsoft Office is unable to verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed or was canceled by the user. Message will now close the Application.

Isolation mode is only passed in full to the merged on the folder %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto folder/sup and allowed the software write in the itinerant/persona user profile when creating new merger model files and mail (because it is where the software Civica App writes this file). MS Word 2010 features installed for the mailing and they work fine.

I applied 2 fixes in VMWare KB1022287. I realize account this article talks of when Office 2010 Thinapped himself, but the symptoms are the same. I placed this code in the file config.xml and re-installed Office 2010 in the base image, no luck there:

    "< setting Value ="kmsserver.domain.com"/ >"
    < value = "1" / >

I also copied and pasted the "Office2010-Osppsvc - Keys.txt" registry entries at the top of the file HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt of the Civic App files project and re - build the application.

There was a suggestion to put the software to the base image, but I have another application with the same problem. This software is by computer based on licensing, so that it can not all put in the base image.

Note: If I run the App Thinapp Civica on a physical Windows 7/Office 2010 Pro Plus machine, it works fine.

I am out of ideas now, just so you seek advice if anyone else has experienced this?

    Thanks - Steve.

OK, if you use civic App ThinApp package with natively installed Office 2010, and on some machines, you get a license error. By default, civic App Launches native binaries of Office in the virtual environment. You can modify package.ini to run Winword in the native environment, and I hope that the license error can be avoided. For example:

    VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM = 0
    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = Winword.exe
    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

Here's an example of doing something similar:

    http://blogs.VMware.com/ThinApp/2011/12/enabling-send-as-email-attachment-in-ThinApp-packages-when-Outlook-is-installed-natively.html
