Virus to bring me to delete a system file

I have an hp dv2500 and had a virus. I tried smitfraud and the virus has been removed, but now my computer will not boot to the top.

HP dv2500

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

It goes to the Boot Manager window

His black screen and says unable to start Windows. Recent hardware problem or software change might be the cause. Then he asks my windows installation disc.  The laptop came with an installion disk.

The file is \Windows\System32\Drivers\wmvzhbos.sys

I've never heard of the file before. Google it and there is no result.

I guess it's a banished virus file and now my windows cannot start without him.

Someone at - he never heard of him? Everyone has ideas on what to do... I tried to go to all these f2, f11, f12 application at startup but nothing helped...

Really need advice...

No, you must start your laptop from the disk. Specify the first condition in the drive, and then restart. You should get a screen with a prompt to hit any key to boot from the cd/dvd. Press the space key and follow the instructions to change the disks as needed.

  • Help! Virus deleted system files

When I went to a Web site, I suddenly received warnings of virus and I did a hard reboot to stop all activity.  When my computer is back, a virus had control of Internet Explorer and it kept popping up small balloons of warning.  I disabled the modem to prevent the virus to assess more resources online.  Using the Task Manager, I decided that a process called av.exe was responsible and I closed it (I run AVG, but it had been wound up).  Then I went in the Solution Explorer, located av.exe in my settings folder and delete it.  I started AVG and it allows to scan my computer, but he found nothing apart from all the cookies.

Restarting my computer was when I noticed problems/damages.  There can be no more file associations.  When I tried regedit, it didn't know how to do this.  He doesn't know how to run any basic program.  Look in the Solution Explorer, I noticed that the system files (io.sys, msdos.sys, config.sys and autoexec.bat - no other sys files) on the root directory are now 0 KB.

I think that the virus has disappeared, but now my computer is paralyzed.  I got my OS from a dealer and I do not know if it is still active with no way to travel and my phone through my computer.  I want to d/l the system files that I need.  Can anyone help?

Very much sounds like you were attacked by a security program thugs and that also your computer is not clean. You need to do a more thorough cleaning because AVG alone will not do the job.

The files you mentioned are not part of Windows XP and are there only for backwards compatibility with older software. Once you have cleaned your computer, problems can all be gone/repaired. If this isn't the case, you will need to have a copy of Windows for resettlement. I'll give you the link of the malware removal, but based on your post and without any intention to offend you, it would probably be best if you took the machine (or if someone had come on the spot to pick it up) to a local professional. • Cannot delete the plist file system.

My Time Machine is not automatically back up my drive. He worked for some time (don't know why) and then stops working automatically. I tried to implement the procedure laid down by Linc Davis, delete the file com.apple.TimeMachine.plist, but make the message: 'com.apple.TimeMachine.plist' cannot be changed or deleted because it is required by OS X.  I tried to change the permissions in the file information window to include Administrator Read and Write (only has this permission system. Which translates the message: "the operation cannot be performed because you don't have the necessary authorization."

Using the terminal window and sudo rm command produces the same message.

I do a backup manually through the system preferences window, but it shows immediately that a backup disk has not been selected. Next time, I select the backup disk, perform a manual backup. Repeat the next time, I have run a manual backup.

10.11.1 on new iMac, retina 5 K with 16 GB of memory running. Has made a migration to this previous computer Mac Pro 10.7.5.

Also the Time Machine backup drive icon backup weather icon to see the Machine. Relaunch the Finder does not fix issue.

Question: How can I delete the plist file?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

A bug in OS X 10.11.1 prevents automatic backups that happens when a desktop Mac (iMac, Mac mini or Mac Pro) is connected to a UPS (UPS) with the USB feature.

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

First, check the App Store for a later update to OS X. If it is available when you read this review, install it and see if the problem is resolved. I speak not beta versions.

Otherwise, you can work around the bug as follows.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine RequiresACPower 0

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting. You will be asked for your login password. Nothing displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. You can get a warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to display the warning.

If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal.

    Restart the computer and test.

I'M RUNNING OUT OF ROOM AND WHAT ARE THE FILES DEVOURS MORE SPACE!

Yo can do that, but you can't win important disk space. The three main newspapers are system, security and Application and each maximum by default 20 MB each.

How to deal with each must select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, Windows logs. Place the cursor on the system, click with the right button on the properties and select clear. Repeat for security and application logs. You can also change the default 20 480 KB 2 048 KB maximum. When you have completed the change make sure you click on apply. You must restart the computer to apply the new settings. You note miust use clearly if you want to set a lower maximum rate.

You'll have more space by deleting old restore points. This action can greatly increase the free disk space.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

Yes. In addition to an anti-virus program, you must also at least one
anti-spyware (two or three is even better) program. Windows Defender is
    an anti-spyware program.

    But keep in mind:

I think McAfee is one of the two worst anti-virus programs on the
market (Norton is this one). I recommend that you run eSET NOD32
If you are willing to pay for anti-virus software, or one of the
the following three if you want for free anti-virus software:

    Avira
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

For anti-spyware, I recommend running all three of the following:

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SuperAntiSpyware
    Windows Defender.
