Vista cannot create a network map

the two 2 computers running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.  Network and sharing screens put in place identical.  On my computer (from the network and sharing Center), I can click on view full map and it shows my network card.  On the computer of my wife (of the network and sharing Center) she can click on view full map and it rises "Windows cannot create a network adapter for the selected type of connection networl.  I might add that both computers are 'wired' internet/router.

Any help?

Hi Duane_TN,

Are your computer and your computer wife have chipset or card network NVIDIA perchance? or a Linksys router by chance?  This is a post in the forum of Linksys, you might want to check in to see if it applies to your computers:

Symptom: Windows Vista computers are not put on the Vista network map.

Or well, you get the following message when you try to view the full network map:

"Windows cannot create a network adapter for the type of connection chosen network."

To check go to:
PANEL-> CENTER NETWORK AND SHARING.
SEE the FULL map (top-right)
and find either:

  1. A Windows Vista-based computer is listed down under: "the following peripheral discovered may not be placed in the plan.

    or

  2. You get the message, "Windows cannot create a network adapter for the type of network connection.

Possible cause:
The offending computer has an NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller whose property "priority and VLAN" to "priority"active & VLAN.

Solution:
Set the property 'priority & VLAN"to"Priority and VLAN Disabled"as follows:
Reach:
START-> CONTROL PANEL-> ADMINISTRATION-> COMPUTER MANAGEMENT TOOLS

In the resultant "computer management" window select:
DEVICE MANAGER (left side).
"NICs" (right).
Expand "Network adapters" and see if it lists a NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.
Right click on 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller' and select 'properties '.

In the resultant 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Properties' window, select:
"Advanced"(tab) ".
Under the list of the 'properties', select 'priority & VLAN.
for 'Value' assign ' priority and VLAN disabled.

Other things to check:
Update to the latest version of the driver (65.7.4.0 works for me). Article referenced above indicates a previous driver may be bad.

Hope this helps, Kevin

  • Windows cannot create the network map. Responses of the other devices on the network are delayed or on the network, there is a router incapatible

    Original title: no network card
I installed a NETGEAR N300 Wireless USB Adapter on my computer which is a desk top Dell 64-bit running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. There are five computers on my network. Two of the others use the same model of NETGEAR wireless USB adapt. I removed the Ethernet cable after the installation of the wireless adapter. I can say that the new wireless adapter works fine. When I tried to map the network I got the same message that appears in some of these problems: "Windows cannot create the network map. Responses of the other devices on the network are delayed or there is a router on the network incapatible". I have restarted this computer in SafeMode as suggested in the above problems. I tried other things like disabling the wired connection has always existed for the cable. No effect. Then I tried mapping the network on the other computers. All failed with the same message. All the other four computers are 32-bit. Three of these computers are also running Windows 7 Home Premium. They are the best desktop computers. The other computer is a Windows 7 Starter netbook running. It is the 32-bit computer, always using a cable. That will be replaced with the same wireless adapter model NETGEAR. Anyone know how to fix this or is this a bug? It would be nice of the network software of Windows 7 has worked as it is supposed to. TO.

I went the last wired wireless computer and the problem disappeared. The five computers can view the map now without any problems.

  • Vista cannot identify the network

Hello, I have a similar problem like this post
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistanetworking/thread/500f6465-83ab-405a-9ed2-23f8bf1a9236 while Vista connects to a network, but may not identify the network and therefore cannot access the internet for any purpose. I saw the same problem on 4 different laptops in the last 2 weeks. All that relied on a wireless connection, but now will not connect either wired or wireless.
I tried the Patch flag Broadcast and anything else that I could find through Google.
As has happened on several machines at the same time, I can only assume that it's down to a Windows Update. I tried to install SP2 to Vista and later updates, but in vain. Interestingly, my wife, computer Dell laptop running Vista Business, and so far it still works fine.
If you could be of any help to me I would be very well kept, my next step could very well be the reinstallation of the OS.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Alas, it seems to be still no solution for this problem. I am a small scale system integrator and repair service in my spare time, and now I just took my system 10th with this anomaly. So far, my only response is to re - install Vista, which worked perfectly on previous systems 9.
    Any other ideas?

  • Cannot create wireless network

I'm having a problem making the myRIO create its own wireless network. It has the ability to do so, as shown in the tutorial of myRIO OR video to http://www.ni.com/academic/students/learn-rio/applications/ in the dashboard of data and OR video myRIO @ 57 seconds. In the video, it clearly shows the ability to create wireless network, however, when I followed the instructions in the video, I don't have the option listed to create the wireless network. The attached picture shows my screen and lack clear option.

I'm new to myRIO and so still learning, but I have no idea why I did not have this option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must upgrade to the latest driver.

  • Cannot create the network location in my computer

I can't create a network location in my computer. I open my computer and right click on an open area and enter the ftp://ftp.irvinerunningclub.co.uk location but get the error message "the folder you entered does not appear to be valid" I have another computer with the same version of windows 7 (home premium) that allows me to create this place without problem. Are there opportunities for a fix or a link to an update that corrects this problem?

    Hi Finlay,

I understand that when you try to create a network location, you get an error.

The error message you get usually occurs when Windows try to check the subfolders of the parent and parent. If the parent folder is not configured for WebDAV, the connection attempt fails.

Please see the article below for more information:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2560598

We can also refer to the link below and check if the steps you followed to create location are correct.

  • Vista cannot create a ad - hoc connection if not connected to a router

    Summary

I am trying to create an ad - hoc between my iPhone and my VISTA laptop connection. It works as long as my laptop is connected to the router. If I disconnect I can not create the ad hoc network more (error message "Windows cannot setup ").

    What I'm trying to accomplish

Get a wireless connection between my iphone and my VISTA laptop without a router or wireless access point. Basically, I use my iPhone as a webcam, connected to the laptop, where an application processes the data stream. I do it in different places, without internet access.

    Detailed problem description

VISTA not connected to a network

    1. open the network and sharing Center

    2. click on "set up a connection or network.

    3. click on "Configuration of the wireless ad-hoc (computer to computer).

    4. click on "next".

5 network name 'ad - hoc test 1', type of security: no authentication (Open), click "next".

    6. Windows returns : "Windows could not set up ad-hoc test 1.

If I repeat the same procedure with my laptop connected to the router (wired or wireless)... It works without any problem.

Any ideas what could be the problem and how to solve!

A big thank you and a happy new year 2011

    Emanuel

    Hello

The iPhone needs to be configured for Ad - Hoc with a different IP address like 192,168.1.6

Perhaps this page can provide better instructions on a different route.

  • Vista: Cannot see wireless networks - I know they are there.

I'm contracting at Microsoft and just installed the company issued IT Vista. Everything works fine: I joined the appropriate domain and can access all internal servers and the Internet with the ethernet cable is plugged.

However, I don't know how to jump on the wireless network. My host OSX (10.5.6), I see the Microsoft WLAN airport is accelerating. Connection to the WLAN MS requires that I am connected to the correct field in Vista (I am), but I do not see the wireless networks - as if there is no such thing as a wireless NETWORK card.

VMWare Tools are installed, and Device Manager shows my NIC is "Intel Pro/1000 MT Network Connection. I use the connection of NAT in Fusion. Diagnosis of the problem in Vista, he said: it is not an installed wireless device.

Connection to the WLAN MS requires that I am connected to the correct field in Vista (I am), but I do not see the wireless networks - as if there is no such thing as a wireless NETWORK card.

It does not exist. Take a look at: VMware Fusion (menu bar) > help > VMware Fusion help > Machine virtual Basics > virtual hardware specifications

If you need to post by connecting to WiFi since in Vista then you will need to install a 3rd party USB WiFi NETWORK adapter in the Virtual Machine in Vista.

  • Windows Vista cannot identify the network wireless secure after reboot, shutdown, standby, idle, screensaver...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 that is about 5 years old.  After almost every stop, restart, sleep, saving screen and idle my wireless connection icon gets a yellow warning triangle and when I open my network and Center sharing there is a red X on the 'plan' and he said: he can't identify the wireless network.  So I have to disconnect and reconnect several times to connect wireless.  There are also 2 PCs cable, 1 PC wireless and 1 laptop Mac wireless connected to the NetGear RangeMax router with no problems.  I tried to update my Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter (version 4.82.28.56 / date 21/06/06), but he says it's the most recent driver.  I use WPA2-PSK authentication with a password for the security of the wireless router.  The only one I know about computers is that when I have a problem I look up on internet forums until I have the solution, and then I followed the instructions.  It has worked so far.  If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
