Vista installation hangs on the end of the installation during clean installation

Hello, I'm having a problem installing a clean installation of Windows Vista Home Basic on Acer laptop from my friend.

For starters, my friend got a red anti virus that has destroyed more or less its windows.  After doing a restore of the system for the first available date, the virus had disappeared, but Windows kept asking me how to open simple things like Internet Explorer and various other programs, which means that the OS is unusable.  My friend gave me permission to format the drive and I reinstalled Vista with a DVD of my I had to leave one of my PC, but I used the CD key on the laptop.  The installation went well, I went on my desktop PC and downloaded all the drivers for his laptop (Aspire 5516), and then installed a sound card driver and an update of the BIOs.  After updating the BIOs, the laptop starts again.  I tried to do a system restore but it had no restore points, then because I just started, I thought a quick format wouldn't hurt.
This is where things went wrong.  I tried to reinstall Vista again, but it keeps hanging on the part "complete installation."  I tried three times so far and it always crashes at the same exact part, and now I have no idea what to do.
Any suggestion or help would be appreciated, thanks.

The copy of Vista, I use came from my college that I got for free to be in a computer SCIENCE major.  This isn't a particular manufacturer.

EDIT: I apologize for not to say that from the beginning.  It is never used because I already had 7 at this time.
In any case, I changed my BIOs native IDE or something of the sort, and I have Vista start.  I'm in shock, but I guess that when I flashed the BIOs, it's turned back on it to the wrong setting or something.  That's all I can think about.

  • Satellite L350 restarts on the Vista installation

Hey, my friend gave me his L350-145 (PSLD0E-00U00YGR) to reinstall Vista, because the system was full of Ad - and malware. He bought it on Ebay so there was no CD/DVD and booklet included and Partition Recovery is already deleted. I'm a veteran Windows so I reinstalled systems 100 times, but this one gives me the shiver.

I created a 32-bit Vista installation DVD, following a Step - by Step Guide without any problem and formatted the drive using "Partition Wizard". 80 GB primary NTFS 'SYSTEM' and 2 logical NTFS. I reboot the system with the Vista DVD in the drive and "Windows loading files...". "- the screen apears. Installation of Vista starts propper and I select the country and language. Insert-Windows-key-screen appears and I start to type in the key. The screen turns to black and colored stripes and the system hangs or suddenly reboots without any promt somewhere on the way. It does the same thing after a few moments, if I not touch anything after the "Windows loading files...". ' - screen.

I checked the BIOS settings, everything seems to be in order.
I took the DVD from the drive and waited for the "no boot device" - screen for a gel or a reset... nothing.
I started "Partition Wizard" and waited... nothing.
This only happens after you start the installation of Vista... sooner or later.

I'm at the end of my know how.

    Any idea?... pleeeaaase.

    welcome them

For me, this looks like hardware problem. Something like GPU overheating or something like that.
Of course I can't say it for sure.
All you can do is make some small tests to see what happens and try to find out what could be the reason for this.
    > This only happens after you start the installation of Vista... sooner or later.
Windows-old fighter you can test with, for example from another version of Windows. Try to install Windows7.
If possible try to speak with your friend and get another HARD drive. You can try to swap the HDD and check if the same thing will happen again.

I installed different versions of Windows on different machines and I've never noticed anything like that. Some hardware, it must be related issue.

  • with the Vista installation error: bootmgr.c

    The system:
    AMD Phenom x 4 9450
    4 GB of ram
    300 GB SATAII
    PATA DVD - RW
    Win Vista Ultimate x 64

Error occurs when you attempt to repair the installation of windows vista.

The system worked very well.  I put a Server 2 k 8 installation disc, to capture an error message I received some time ago.  Once I got the error message, I took the 8 2 k disk out and restarted.  Vista appeared be started normally, but when going in the loading bar, to black, and then to load the cursor, the system just stayed black (white screen).  There is no error message, just a white screen.  The screen is not time and sleep, as if there is a lack of signal; He remains alive.

So I put in my Vista installation disc to do a repair. The installation disc comes at the end of "loading files", and when the installer would normally load, I get an error instead.

I tried this with different drives and even with the drive disconnected.  I checked the installation disc will load normally on another PC.  Any thoughts\ideas as to what this error is trying to tell me?

Wow, I was hoping this would be the DVD drive.  The only place from there is controllers and cables, then eventually the motherboard.

Given that you receive the error without the hard drive is connected and the media works on other systems, we roamed outside what I'm allowed to support in this forum, but I was hoping that we would identify the material defective and much faster.

My apologies for not being able to help you solve this problem, but if the system is still under warranty, it's a contact in good time the hardware manufacturer.

If you ultimately identify what is the cause, thanks for posting this information here.  I would really like to know what is the source of this error.

  • Installation of Vista 64 bit on the Satellite P500/025

I just bought a P500/025 and should have chosen installation 64 bit but installed 32-bit instead.
Could someone please give me instructions on how to install vista 64-bit on Vista 32 bit?

I will lose everything I have installed on my current installation of 32-bit?
    Thanks in advance.

Before starting the discussion on the installation of Vista 64-bit, visit the Toshiba download page and check if this laptop is 64 bit supported and if you can find all drivers 64-bit.
I assume you have an Australian model of laptop. Do you have?

Insert the DVD into the optical drive, wait until automatic execution appears, select Run Setup.

During the installation you will be asked for your key you will find on the booklet inside the DVD case.  It will also go and get the EA Updater software so make sure that you are connected to the internet during the installation.

  • Do I need a Vista installation disk to use the Windows 7 upgrade option?

    Hi guys,.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
I'm currently running Vista 64 bit and you want to upgrade to Windows 7.
I'm looking to upgrade and full version options.
I'm looking to do a clean install.
My question is, if I buy a version upgrade of Windows 7 need me a Vista installation disc to allow it?
My PC came pre loaded with Vista, so I don't have an installation disc.
    Thank you

    Emma

A copy of the full license of Windows 7 would be transferable to a computer without an operating system until it has been completely removed from the first.

I highly recommend that you buy a copy of the full license since you think you might buy a personal computer.

The upgrade copy would not be transferable to a new computer unless the new computer already had a copy of installed Windows on what qualifies for an upgrade to Windows 7.

Windows Vista crashed, and we do not have the original installation disc for Vista. Can you buy Vista Ultimate and proceed to install it?

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstal vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

with HP normally press you F11 at startup to start the recovery process

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Reformatting of your laptop, Vista installs the wrong version (Home Premium instead of Basic)

So I erased the hard drive on a Toshiba Satellite a200 laptop class and im trying to reinstall Vista HB (and here, an operating system has been paid for, but also, no disk has been given... UM o) if I'm using a generic Vista disk and try to re-enter the key on the bottom of the computer. but the drivers are all defective, not allowing does not connect to the internet somehow, and Vista installs as a copy of the premium. the key is Basic, and the drive says its generic and includes all versions of Vista. 3 discs of generic vista I did, Bay drive only a bed and install as Home Premium. Is there a site where I can download a trial version of Vista HB and put the key, or a site that has drivers available for the user to download for free without having to install a bogus program, because they also paid for the drivers in the first place?

    Hey isayuh

There is no sites for free and legal download for vista

Once installed, you can not change the version of vista by changing a product key

you need to reinstall vista correctly

    you get your Toshiba drivers

Click on the download tab in the link and enter your model number

  • What is the difference between my "reinstallation DVD' and a 'Windows Vista Installation disk'

In a thread on repair Vista (link below), "a real Windows Vista Installation disc" has been claimed. Laptop Dell Inspiron 1525, my wife took a Dell DVD "Reinstalling Windows Vista Home Premium 32 BIT SP1 - DVD".

In general, yes your reinstall Dell drive is identical to a disc to install Windows genuine.

The differences are not applicable for the repair procedure. (FYI - Toshiba and HP Vista, the disks cannot be used to perform a repair install, while gateway disks will work for Vista)

    Hello

Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.

It doesn't matter what it is always a good idea before re-install/upgrade to log on to the computer support page, download independent drivers from there and put them on a flash drive.
