• The profile of my Vista won't let pitchers PC game run game applications - a fresh profile works OK. A registry problem?

  Last weekend my PC has become infected with a malicious program called 'Vista Antispyware 2012' (probably due to a problem with my Norton subscription renewal).
  I used Norton Power Eraser utility and it seems to have removed the infection, but since then I have had two problems that might be related.

  One minor thing is that when I open PDF documents in a web browser (usually from Firefox, but IE) as well, the document opens, but I also have a "Open with" box that asks me to choose a program to open the file "AdobeARM.exe" (even if this program active at startup - msconfig function). This never happened before this past weekend. I can simply close the box, but it would be nice to understand why it's happening.

  The other thing that has started happening is that pitchers game for several Entertainment Arts (EA) PC games no longer work correctly. If the game is installed, the Launcher applications allow you to launch the game, launch the configuration or the uninstall utility. If the game is not yet installed, it allows you to run the Setup utility. The games and these utilities work fine if you work around the pitcher and activate the application manually files, but it's a problem when installing the game. This problem affects several games with launcher utilities which operate according to the same principle. Before infection and cleaning, these utilities worked well.

  As part of troubleshooting with EA and Norton, the following actions were taken:

  • With the EA technical support: a new Vista user profile has been created. By using this profile, the game Launcher worked as it should and I managed to reinstall (I used the control panel to uninstall thinking that a reinstallation may solve the problem, to see that this problem affects prevents installation of the Launcher as well), then activate the game from the Launcher. Switch back to my original profile, I managed to activate the utility launcher and I could activate the game manually, but still I could not the pitcher to do. Here everything before I learned that the problem affects more than just a game.
  • With the Norton tech support: think of a Norton firewall might prevent applications Launcher to work, we have removed Norton Internet Security 2009 and tried to use the Launcher but without success. (We have then upgraded to NIS 2012.)
  • With tech support (new) EA: came to the conclusion that there must be a registry setting in my current Vista profile that prevents the applications Launcher to activate another application. We were pretty sure it was something in my registry that is causing the problem, but we did not know what to look for.

  Is this a problem with my registration? Is the problem with the relief pitcher of the question with the opening of PDF files in a web browser?
  I'm not particularly be warned when it comes to understand the registry information or change.

  If one or two questions are due to a registry setting, can someone guide me through the steps to find and fix the problem?
  If it is not due to a setting in the registry, how should I do?

• Cannot start applications. I have "set up side by side" when I try to run any application.

  I'm helping a friend fix his computer. He reports that, after restarting a auto update, if it tries to launch any application, it gets this error:

  "The application failed to start because it side-by-side configuration is incorrect." Check the log of events applications for more details"

  I checked. Attempting to run desktop applications will generate this error. However, I can launch the Control Panel, Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and another at the level of the system features (the command line).

  It seems that the C++ Redistributable packages have been damaged on his machine, so I downloaded the file vcredist_x86.exe Redistributable 2005 and 2008. Unfortunately, I can not run these files on his machine. You try to run generates them the same error generated by other applications.

  Go to the command (cmd.exe) prompt with admin rights [1] and run sfc [2]:

  sfc.exe/scannow

• Impossible to run an application

  Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable, uninstall (or remove it from startup).  Another option is to solve the problem with this application if it is that you actually use.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

• Windows Vista - no system sounds - no application in the volume component

  Windows Vista volume control pane, it is sndvol.exe, only shows the volume for master volume slider. Applications pane is empty. No sound from any application or system. iTunes displays the error message.

  I can deploy from Jdeveloper, but if I have a deployment on the built-in console (an ear file) of weblogic server, I can not run the application.

• Installation of El Capitan problem: "an error occurred during the preparation of the installation. Try running the application again. »

  I've been a fight 2 days now trying to improve my iMac 21.5 2009 end of Mavericks in El Capitan, but as the installation is about to be launched I get this message "an error occurred during the preparation of the installation. Try running the application again".

  Here is a list of all the things I've tried:

  Running the application again;

  Move the installation to another folder application;

  Control date & time and it was already correct;

  Do the installation in safe mode;

  Installation of the upgrade of another user I created only for that purpose;

  The computer restarts and I tried install the upgrade several times;

  And, to be sure that the installation application was not corrupted I made a copy of it on an external HD and tried to install it on my 2011 MacBook Air and it worked (I didn't install because I have El Capitan installed on my MacBook).

  Well, I don't know what else can be done, and I'd rather not have to completely restore my iMac.

  Please try installing again after taking each of these steps you have already taken it.

  Is it possible to run multiple applications on a target cRIO?  Would they all need to be part of the same project in LabVIEW?  Can I set more than one as a starting VI or need to create a VI that would start up individule applications?  They are the basics of Ethernet and not to use or share any what I/O.  I looked around, but didn't see much information on this subject.  Thank you!

  It is possible to run several applications on a target of cRIO as long as they are in the same project and do not exceed the capacity of the target memory. You can only mark a VI the sixth start-up, but, as you said, you have this VI call your other applications. You can find useful the following documentation:

• Error when you try to run an application that worked when built with 8.6

  I have a simple program that I wrote in the 8.6 version that I've never had a problem generation and execution of applications built with it to 8.6.  Two weeks ago, I got 2009 by mail because we had very recently purchased 8.6 and I get errors when you try to run an application built with the same code using 2009.  The error relates to the Mean.vi.  He claims that he can't find it.  The error I get is as follows:

  Error loading VI 'NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi '.  LabVIEW support 3 error code: could not load façade.  I don't have access to the front panel of this vi, so I wonder if there is a problem with the runtime and not my code.  Please answer as soon as possible because it will quickly start to the impact of my calendar.  Thank you.

  Most likely, the download is corrupted.  Have you tried to download it again?

  Unknown error installing means that Setup produced an error that windows did not recognize.
