  • Problem with the Modem devices: Modem already used or not properly configured

I use windows 8. Until last night, my laptop was working fine, but now it rejects all the modem devices, I try to plug it. I tried to connect to internet via Auntie photon and reliance netconnect +, but this message "Modem already in use or not properly configured" keeps on appearing two modem devices? Is there a problem with my OS or my laptop? Help, please

    Thanks for the solution.
Well, my problem was similar but different too. The method to uninstall the modem device is correct. I tried, but still it did not work.
My problem was that I have 3 different modems installed on my pc, but I used one of them. So I would uninstall only one I used. It turns out that we have to uninstall all modems. Its pretty simple, but its not so obvious. I thought about it later in like 2 days. I hope that people reading this don't have to wait 2 days to fix this problem.

    Margarida Amara

    Hello Margarida,

Your Web host must support PHP and the PHP mail service must be properly configured to send e-mail messages. If you use the feature to download FTP in the Muse, Muse will attempt to warn you if it detects that your Web host does not meet these requirements.

I suggest you contact your hosting provider in order to get this resolved.

    Thank you

  • "Windows updates were not be properly configured and restoration of changes." The computer freeze

I have a laptop Dell inspiron 1501 with windows vista on it.

I don't have the disc of windows Vista DVD you are referring to, I have never recived a Dell I bought the computer on the internet with vista already installed.

My problem is that, with respect to the windows updates, I get a message saying "Windows have been developed to date not be properly configured and restoration of changes". I have 51 updates pending, 47 of these updates is equivalent to 170 MB.

As a result of these updates, I think it's the cause of my freezing computer once I have connected and I have to restart only having do not 2 - 3 times.

When the computer "freezes" the cursor does not move throughout the scene, none of the keys works, including Manager tasks etc., the only thing that works is to turn the computer off. Sometimes, there is a beep, beep once the computer crashes.

Over 95% the updates I have try have 'no '.

I'm lost as how to how to repair?

All good suggestions welcome to solve this problem, the simpler the better... I don't want to have to buy a new computer... If I won't Dell... and I'll have to get the windows disc... most solutions here seem to require it...

    Hi AL0001,

Run the chkdsk command to check that there are no problems with your hard drive. To run the disk check, follow these steps:

    1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.
    2. Select Mode safe mode with command prompt.
    3. At the command prompt, type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /)

Meanwhile, check the Dell website to see how you can get a recovery disk in case you need to recover Windows.
