  Workaround solution:

  1. download the trial of VMware Workstation 10

  2. install

  3. navigate to the Program files VMware Workstation 10

  4. find windows.iso, copy to USB or transfer it to some hosting

  5. go the machine to hosts, copy on it windows.iso

  6. inside of the guest computer mount windows.iso as drive

  7 install tools

  8 restart the guest computer

  That's all

  P.S. I am very disappointed, that such large and respected company, like VMware, after almost a month, since the question has been raised cannot pay 10 minutes and fixes a bug with CD-server and allow their users to download & install VMware Tools without any problems, even if we are talking about free product such as VMware Player!

  You might be able to delete directly from SQL, using the events and event_data tables in the case of database.   I found th informaton below on page 10 of the guide to integration of VMware View.  I want to backup my database of events before performing any manipulation.

  Is it possible to increase the limit of the Vmware view admin console timeout? I would have the dashboard always on my 2nd screen without going all day logon due to delays...

  Very well, you can do this by following these steps:

  Go to: Display Configuration > global settings > check Activate the automatic updates.

  You'll notice that the heading aid next to him said: "the idle session timeouts not happen when automatic updates are enabled, causing the Administrator display to remain active until the browser is closed or an explicit logout is performed."

  This will allow you to follow the Administrator display without waiting times. (And you don't forget to lock your workstation when you leave your desk anyway, so you should be fine. )

  Welcome to the forums.  You try to connect to the page admin view located in the https://servername/admin or the server itself.   I would make sure that the user is part of the local administrator group box.

  "Domain administrator" and "Enterprise administrator" are roles in Active Directory. It's not what I mean.

  If you right-click on the object of vCenter (object at a higher level in the left pane) in the vSphere client and select 'add permission... '. ", you can assign the role of 'Administrator' of vSphere for a user or group for your entire vSphere environment.

  'View Manager' is simply the old name of the VMware View Horizon product. The iteration of names was something like;

  VMware Virtual Desktop Manager 2.0

  VMware View Manager 3.0

  VMware View 4.0-> 5.1

  VMware View 5.2 horizon

  Looks like the doc team has not changed this reference yet.

  It should read "we can add server vCenter instances to view through the view administrator.

• VMware Studio configuration problem

  I use Vmware Studio to build a Windows 2003 SP2 machine. Everything is big. The problem occurs when VMware Studio completes the transfer the transional VM on the VMware Studio machine. Export OVF ends and then I got the following error:

  If I build the virtual machine in VMware Studio with the transitional retain verified VM work ends. If the transient virtual machine does not check the work fails.

  I think that this problem is related to one of the VADK timeout attributes that are documented in the VMware Studio Administrator's Guide.

  the line Vim.pm 1527 - deals with transitional VM during removal of the host and reciving a 'State' of success. If the State successfully is not getting the job is aborted.

  Can anyone help?

  Without looking at the curl library code that uses the ovftool group, I can't really tell you. I saw this bug and thought of you and thought maybe it might be the cause. My guess is that anything which would need to be escaped to the URL could cause trouble.

  Yes, you can run... Licensing Enterprise will hide out that are not allowed for 2 hearts through you.

• Data recovery restore VMWare DR site

  We have a VMWare (Enterprise) of production environment I want backup several miles on a fiber attached DR site.  We run VMWare Data Recovery in the production environment, backup through the fiber on an EMC on the site of DR. My goal is to have a mirror of our production environment on the DR site where we can manually restore our VMS disaster.

  My question is - can I run say 'VMWare Essentials Plus' on the site of DR who understands "VMWare Data Recovery" and attach it to the backups of the production environment so I can restore backups of production on the DR site failure?  Is that how 'VMWare Data Recovery' works or can I only restore the original environment?

  To be able to restore the backup of the original ESX, you must have (in the DR site) a clone of the vCenter Server, cause, you must 'see' the ESX in the VDR plugin.

  But VDR plugin can also run on vSphere client connected to a single ESX, you can at least restore to another ESX.

  Are there problems?

  The big problem is what happen if you lose your data integrity VDR... can you lose all the restoration? Not a good scenario.

  So I suggest to have at least a second level of backup (perhaps only a month) in a "simple" format converter (for example) can handle. VCB or a simple export with Convert (or a clone of vCenter) could be a simple solution.

  Do not forget that there is also the solution of replication, both at the level of SAN (usually very explensive) and the virtual machine (for example, Veeam Backup or Vizioncore vReplicator) level.

  I have the p9600 (2.66 GHz with 6 MB of cache) in mine.  You can just call and order and ask anything you want.  Sometimes (as in my case) they will have processors that are not yet listed yet.  I think the max is just at 3 GHz.  I usually run 3 VMs at a time, or I'll run my team (4 virtual machines) and another 1 or 2 with them.  I used for my RHCT practice stuff and it will use for my VCP and MCITP Enterprise Administrator practice as well.  I had with Vista x 64, but put Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 on it when he came in (MSDN).
