  By default, the files that make up a Virtual Machine are placed in their own folder by the name of the virtual machine and is located in the My Virtual Machines folder in your My Documents folder.  If you delete the folder target to the time called VM is the same as what do the instructions contained in the help file.

  Y at - it another way to disable HA and ensure that the virtual machine and the host continues to run. Also, I have some virtual machines that either have no vmware tools installed or they must be updated. If all goes well, which does not affect HA.

  just my opinion, but I depend on to untick the box "enable Host Monitoring." Even if that's exactly what this function is, for me, I would feel more at ease by disabling HA all together at an event of network maintenance planned.

• 1.2 VMware 4.1 ISE Installation failure

  An assessment of the customer, we are trying to install ISE 1.2.1.198 on a VMware ESXi 4.1 VM to an iso image in VMware data store mounted as the DVD drive on the virtual computer. the installation starts, but after the initial startup fails with an error that the ISE software DVD is not in the DVD player.  I wonder:

  (1) everyone knows this?

  (2) has anyone installed this version of iso in a data store?

  Refers only to the installation guide installation ISO with DVD in the Player VM host.

  I am currently downloading the .ova file to work around the problem, but as Cisco provided the .iso image file to the client, I prefer to do this work if possible.

  Jon,

  I have install from an iso in the data store all the time.  Whenever I have seen the error you receive, it is because of a damaged/corrupted iso file.  Try to download the iso file again.  No doubt, who will fix the problem.

  To reduce the mongodb in a single node

  1. go to the file /opt/vmware/vio/etc/omjs.properties

  change to 1

  2. restart SGD

  Run "restart who".

  For a particular VM with a size around 600 GB VMDK file, we find that we get the 'HA VM vSphere monitoring error' whenever the connection vRanger finished and tried to delete the snapshot.

  In fact, it seems that the virtual machine cannot be reset by vSphere HA we get the message "vSphere HA can not reset this virtual machine.

  We would like to ask for your opinion

  (1) why we get followed "vSphere VM HA" error and how to avoid it?

  (2) why HA reset failed (indeed, we don't want make reset)?

• Help! Virtual PC 2007 x 64 (v6.0.156.0) causes VMware Workstation 6.5.2-156735 build failure

  I have several solutions installed on my Vista 64-bit Business machine.

  Machine virtual VMware could not start:

  1. I have a virtual machine on Virtual PC 6.0.156.0. None are running on VMware workstation.

  2. then I start 1 virtual machine of VMware.

  3 VMware workstation prompted me to this error. (Please see attached photos).

  This problem also happens in this way:

  1. I have a VM from vmware to address running.

  2. I turn on 1 instance of a virtual machine in Virtual PC

  3. the vmware instance stopped running with the same error above.

  Is it a matter of Microsoft Virtual PC or VMware workstation?

  I did a little research on Google and found that it is not a problem, only to have you.

  It seems that for some strange reason VMware and VPC does not side by side on the same PC - at the same time.

  have you tried to run the script to support and create a case of pension with VMware as described in the first messagebox?

  I'm not sure that this will never be...

  Does anyone have more information about the current alert to support "all of you who have upgraded, or are planning to upgrade worms, ESX 3.5 Update 3 or ESXi 3.5 Update 3, please read the Article 1008130"? ".

  Ko describes possible symptoms and identifies the affected ESX 3.5 U3 version, but the resolution is a bit vague. I understand they are working on a fix but,

  1. Is it related to a specific build of U3?

  2. Are there precautions that we can take to minimize the risk?

  3. What is the scope? My hypothesis is not very because 3.5 U3 has been a while and I know this support alert is recent.

  4. Anyone experence this first hand... at what level... There you said what though it is indicated in the KB?

  I didn't have symptoms on the hosts I've 3.5 U3, but I planned improvements to several hosts this weekend and would like to know if I have to go through the painful process to cancel or reschedule.

  3.5 has the robin load balancing experimental, but who would not count as a path failover (I don't think).

  You can force the LUN through a certain path, it might take a few attempts on Lun busy because the load balancing cannot be changed when an INTERNATIONAL organization is pending (this is how works iCSSI HW).  When you fail switches that nevertheless taken into account as a path failover, so I don't know how that comes in re: this issue when no LUN use this path.

  For more security perhaps you put a hold:

  • DRS

  • SSH logins

  • Backups

  • Restorations

  • Clones

  • on/off switch

  • etc, etc, etc.

  While the path are past failovers.

  If a path fails on a single host, I would be surprised if it affects other hosts.  Guests will book the file on the VMFS file system when they need to update the metadata or write data, I think that should continue its work.  However, if you take a switch, you may have failures in path on all of your guests...

• Is why VMWare Workstation v8.0, failure to launch a hard 52 GB file, stored on a Western Digital 4 TB big, MyBookLiveDuo external hard drive, model 2713D?

  The error message indicates that "the file is too large!  However, the application runs perfectly, if the hard same52 GB file, is stored on the disk D: from the host machine!  (The host operating system is MS Windows 7 Enterprise).  Thank you!

  The double disks have been formatted by Western Digital, (However, the format is NOT specified by WD). I guess that the format is NTFS.

  Not sure why you assume that NTFS because it is not a Microsoft device.  NTFS is a file system developed by Microsoft and as such WDC perhaps owner to have a license to distribute a device formatted in NTFS and that would probably increase the cost of the device.  Anyway, WDC uses a free Open Source Linux OS to control the "Personal Cloud Storage" device and there format ext4.

  Please note that the application works perfectly fine, if the same hard 52 GB file, is stored on the disk D: from the host machine!

  I will not use a VHD of monolithic, when running on the network and use a split disc.  I would also consider using a prealloue disc split if it was reasonable in size compared to the size of its content.  It will be much better if you are using Snapshots and or repair disk if necessary, and when run through a network expect to have a disk problem.  Besides that if she doesn't have the "Personal Cloud Storage" device at this size and be a monolithic virtual hard drive then you really don't have much choice only to convert a disk of split!
