Volume icon is missing?

Hello

My volume icon does not appear in the toolbar at the bottom...  How can I get it back?

I tried: right click in the area of taskbar background; Click Properties; Notifications - but the Volume is grayed and I can't put a check mark in it.  I also tried to go into it from the control panel: Double clicked on 'Her' but there is nothing there for me put the volume icon.

I use Vista 32 bit.

Also, my computer will not sleep.  I have tried everything I was supposed to when I googled the question, but the computer won't even sleep!  Any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

Babacar

  • my volume icon is missing after uninstalling some programs inadvertently. What should do?

When trying to uninstall a program, I uninstalled inadvertently something else. Apparently has something to do with the sound icon. According to the constructor for the audio endpoint Microsoft.either audio, Windows or Windows does not work.

I can help you to restore the Volume icon in the system tray (some call it the taskbar, some call it the notification area). But no guarantee that the icon will only work if you had uninstalled something you're not supposed to.

    Hello

Notification options are only available for Windows Vista and higher. The Control of the Volume icon may appear from the Control Panel.

You said that the Spokesman of AOL could have removed the Control of Volume, please make sure that the following files exist on your system to see if the Setting of the Volume has been either deleted or not
    %SystemRoot%\system32\sndvol32.exe

If you do not want to enable the display of the Control of the Volume icon, please try the following

  • where's my sound? It was extinguished, I clicked on the volume icon to turn it on and the missing icon. Can't find anywhere. His faded out in the menu of the taskbar and cannot get any sound

I can't offer any additional information as above. One minute my volume icon was there, the next day it was gone.

    Hello

    ·         Are you able to hear the sound while playing music on the system?

If the problem is only with the sound/volume missing from the system tray icon, then you can follow the steps mentioned below and find the volume icon in the system tray.

To redisplay your volume icon in the taskbar

    (a) click Start.

    (b) in the search line type TASKBAR and STARTMENU

    (c) of the list of programs select bar TASKS and STARTMENU

    (d) select the tab area of Notification and under the system icons section, place a check next to VOLUME

    (e) click apply and then click OK

It should be visible in the toolbar again.

Please let us know if that fixes the problem or if assistance is needed.
