I check on R3
The R3 CBAC is configured.

What vpn ipsec connection is established, it shows that it is plugged into the port 4500 not 500?

It has NAT/PAT between R3 and ASA. like address (192.168.98.6) private IP allows you to configure the ipsec session. IKE detects NAT/PAT exist in NAT - D payload. IKE uses UDP 4500 to negotiate ISAKMP rather than UDP 500. Subsequently, the ESP traffic is also encapsulated in UDP 4500, in this way it can cross the NAT/PAT safely.
If this behavior is expected.

Hi people,
I have a question about the two Site to Site VPN IPSEC and NAT. basically what I want to achieve is to do the following:
ASA2 is at HQ and ASA1 is a remote site. I have no problem setting a static static is a Site to IPSEC VPN between sites. Guests residing in 10.1.0.0/16 are able to communicate with hosts in 192.168.1.0/24, but what I want is to configure the NAT with IPSEC VPN for this host to 10.1.0.0/16 will communicate with hosts in 192.168.1.0/24 with translated addresses
Just an example:
N2 host (10.1.0.1/16) contacted N1 192.168.1.5 with destination host say 10.23.1.5 No 192.168.1.5 (notice the last byte is the same in the present case,.5)
The translation still for the rest of the communication (host pings ip destination host 10.23.1.6 N3 N2 not 192.168.1.6 new last byte is the same)
It sounds a bit confusing to me, but I've seen this type of configuration before when I worked for the supplier of managed services where we have given our customers (Ipsec Site to Site VPN with NAT, don't know how it was setup)
Basically we contact the customer via site-to-site VPN hosts but their real address were hidden and we used as translated address more high 10.23.1.0/24 instead of (real) 192.168.1.0/24, last byte must be the same.
Grateful if someone can shed some light on this subject.

OK so went with the old format of NAT configuration
It seems to me that you could do the following:
- Configure the ASA1 with static NAT strategy
- access-list L2LVPN-POLICYNAT allowed ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0
- public static 10.23.1.0 (inside, outside) access-list L2LVPN-POLICYNAT
- Because the above is a static NAT of the policy, this means that the translation will be made only when the destination network is 10.1.0.0/16
- If you have for example a PAT basic configuration to inside-> external traffic, the above NAT configuration and the custom of the actual configuration of PAT interfere with eachother
- ASA2 side, you can normally configure NAT0 / NAT Exemption for the 10.1.0.0/16 network
- Note of the INTERIOR-SHEEP access-list SHEEP L2LVPN
- the permitted INSIDE SHEEP 10.1.0.0 ip access list 255.255.0.0 10.23.1.0 255.255.255.0
- NAT (inside) 0-list of access to the INTERIOR-SHEEP
- You will need to consider that your access-list defining the VPN encrypted L2L traffic must reflect the new NAT network
- ASA1: allowed to access-list L2LVPN-ENCRYPTIONDOMAIN ip 10.23.1.0 255.255.255.0 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0
- ASA2: list L2LVPN-ENCRYPTIONDOMAIN allowed ip 10.1.0.0 access 255.255.0.0 10.23.1.0 255.255.255.0
I could test this configuration to work tomorrow but I would like to know if it works.

Hi all
I'm trying to implement a solution on my FW PIX (pix804 - 24.bin) to be able to support a VPN L2L session with VPN dynamic user sessions where clients will use a mix of IPSEC(Nat detection) and L2TP. We have always supported things IPSEC and that worked great for many years. I'm now trying to Add L2TP support, so that I can support Android phones/ipads, etc. as well as Windows with built in VPN l2tp clients clients. Everything works well except for the new features of L2TP. Allows you to complete one phase but then tries to use the card encryption that is used for the VPN L2L. It seems to fail because IP addresses are not in the configured ACL to the crypto-map L2L. Does anyone know if there are any questions all these configurations support both. And if not can you see what I have wrong here, which would make it not work. Here are the relevant training:

That won't do the trick, l2tp clients are picky kindda, so you know if they do not hit the correct strategy first they just stop trying. Follow these steps:

The foregoing will not affect existing customers of IPsec at all, these clients will not use the statement of pfs and will link even if the correspondence address is not configured (it is optional), besides Cisco IPsec clients will be affected first the mode of transport policy and fail however they will continue to try and hit another police PH2.
Regarding your last question, I was referring specifically to the support of l2tp for android, and Yes, you will need to run one of these versions.

Tunnels of router that support s multiple VPN IPsec AND SSL VPN
I have a main office and an office, each with a RVL200 connected via the IPSec VPN tunnel. We grow faster than we thought and add 2 more branches. Is there a router that is similar to the RVL200 can I put in my main office in support of multiple IPSec tunnels connected to RVL200 in branches, but also keep the SSL VPN?
It seems that the Cisco ASA 5505 will do.

VPN IPSEC and area based on FW
I'm having some trouble running a box FW my SRI. 3945. I have a tunnel VPN site-to-site built between the router and an ASA. With on the firewall zone base all come well and I can't to host both sides of the tunnel. When I apply the zone based firewall I can always raise the tunnel but then can ping only interfaces of router ISR across the tunnel, but nothing else on internal networks. I guess that's because SRI interfaces are in the 'self' area is why I can always reach them and tunnel ends on my interface physics envy. config is below. any help would be appreciated.

Hi all - I've spent many hours trying to diagnose this and have read several discussions and the Cisco docs unsuccessfully...
Situation: two sites running Cisco ASA 5520 on 8.4 (1) with L2L IPsec on the public internet between each of them. The configuration of IPsec and associated routing works as it should and we are able to pass traffic between networks private behind each device as expected. The problem occurs when you try to block sessions using a vpn-filter group policy configuration.
Each site has 3 private subnets that are able to communicate correctly without the vpn-filter configuration. We want to restrict access to specific protocols, hosts, and ports between each network.
SITE A: 10.10.0.0/18, 10.10.64.0/18, 10.10.128.0/18
SITE B: 10.20.0.0/18, 10.20.64.0/18, 10.20.128.0/18
When we apply a filter-vpn configuration which restricted access only two guests, as follows...
SITE A: vpn_acl_x_x_x_x list extended access permit ip host 10.20.0.1 host 10.10.0.1
SITE b: the ip host 10.10.0.1 allowed extended access list vpn_acl_x_x_x_x host 10.20.0.1
... the configuration works correctly. However, when we try to lock the configuration more far and specify the protocols and ports, as follows...

The ACE must be implemented on the source and the end of the tunnel destination to facilitate this configuration.

VPN and port forwarding problem

I configured a VPN (IPSec) between 2 sites on Cisco 881 - K9.
The server 'A', which the 192.168.0.X address must be accessible on port 80, 8080 and 90 of the public network.
I have configured the ports of shipment with the command:
IP nat inside source static TCP 192.168.0.X 90 interface fastethernet 4 90
IP nat inside source static TCP 192.168.0.X 80 4 80 fastethernet interface
IP nat inside source static TCP 8080 interface fastethernet 4 8080 192.168.0.X
The server is accessible from the outside, the site in which it is located.
But there is a problem with the second site:
- I ping the server with its local address 192.168.0.X
- But when I try to open a Web page that is using port 80 or 8080 or 90, the server appears inaccessible
It seems that the problem is due to the translation of port because when I delete the configuration of port forwarding is no problem over on the second site.

You need conditional NAT.
When you want to Port Forwarding to work just for a part of traffic, e.g. when access to the server from the Internet
but not for traffic entering via VPN, you can add a roadmap to the end.Thus,.
IP nat inside source static TCP 192.168.0.X PUBLIC_IP 4 xx xx map route VPNThe road map tells when it is NAT that will to spend.
It will always happen, but when traffic is coming from the VPN.Now... the problem is that you can add a roadmap, when you have a rule of Port forwarding to an IP address (and not an interface).

Troubleshoot VPN traffic to a paricular IP and port
I'm having issues where the VPN users try to hit a particular server on a specific port. When it is connected to the local network, they can connect without problems, but not via the VPN. However, via the VPN they can PING the device and the RDP to it. I checked the ACL on the ASA 5510 and it seems that the ports are open. Any ideas how can I capture or trace that blocks them to hit this IP and port?
for the sake of argument, let's say 10.1.1.1 is the IP address of the device and the port is 211
When it is connected through the VPN, they get an address 172.16.x.x.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Cisco VPN Client and Windows XP VPN Client IPSec to ASA
I configured ASA for IPSec VPN via Cisco VPN Client and XP VPN client communications. I can connect successfully with Cisco VPN Client, but I get an error when connecting with the XP client. Debugging said "misconfigured groups and transport/tunneling mode" I know, they use different methods of transport and tunneling, and I think that I have configured both. Take a look at the config.
PS a funny thing - when I connect with client VPN in Windows Server 2003, I have no error. The only difference is that client XP is behind an ADSL router and client server is directly connected to the Internet on one of its public IP of interfaces. NAT in the case of XP can cause problems?

For the Cisco VPN client, you would need a tunnel-group name configured on the ASA with a pre-shared key.

There is a tunnel-group called "rtptacvpn" and a pre-shared key associated with it. This group name is used by the VPN Client Group name.
So, you would need a specific tunnel-group name configured with a pre-shared key and use it on the Cisco VPN Client.
Secondly, because you are behind a router ADSL, I'm sure that's configured for NAT. can you please activate NAT - T on your ASA.

I currently have my 5505 for SSL AnyConnect VPN connections Setup. Is it possible to set up also the 5505 for IPSec VPN connections?
So, basically my ASA will be able to perform SSL and IPSec VPN tunnels, at the same time.

Yes, you can configure your ASA to support the AnyConnect VPN IPSec connections and at the same time. In short, for the configuration of IPSec, you should configure at least a strategy ISAKMP, a set of IPSEC, encryption, tunnel group card processing and associated group policy.

Windows IPSEC and SSL VPN client on the same machine
Matches (coexistence) installation of IPSEC and SSL vpn clients that are supported on the same computer, windows (XP and Win7)?
As mentioned by Patricia and Jennifer (5 stars), you can install two clients on the same machine without any problem.
The tricky part comes when you are trying to connect two clients at the same time, that's when you may encounter unexpected problems.
However, if your intention is to install both clients and connect them individually and not at the same time, you'll be fine.

Have problems with the IPSec VPN Client and several target networks
I use an ASA 5520 8.2 (4) running.
My goal is to get a VPN client to access more than one network within the network, for example, I need VPN client IPSec and power establish tcp connections on servers to 192.168.210.x and 10.21.9.x and 10.21.3.x
I think I'm close to having this resolved, but seems to have a routing problem. Which I think is relevant include:

When a user establishes a VPN connection, their local routing tables have routes through the tunnel to the 10.21.0.0/16 and the 192.168.210.0/32.
They are only able to communicate with the network 192.168.210.0/32, however.
I tried to add the following, but it does not help:

And you try to connect to the 3 of them.
Politics of Split tunnel is very good, the VPN configuration is fine
The problem is here

I read a few other posts on similar problems, but none of the answers seem to solve my problem. I have a WRT160N that the border to my home router, then I have a RV042 for a home office which is located behind the WRT160N. If I reboot the WRT160N and then open the IPSec tunnel, it connects no problem but only for a few hours and then removes the tunnel. When I try to reconnect the tunnel no VPN traffic can go out the next House, that seems. When I look at the logs on the remote VPN router he did not see all of the trying to connect but when I look on the local RV042 it sends packets to connect. Passage VPN has been activated on the WRT160N and I declined the MTU size to 1350 (as MTU seemed to be the cause of another person) but it doesn't seem to restore the tunnel. The WRT160N also has the latest firmware (v1.02.2), any ideas of what could be the problem? Or if there is a solution?
Don't know how its working now, I passed only ports 500 and 4500 for the RV042 the WRT160N, deleted the static DHCP entry (but somehow the RV042 picks up again and still the same IP) and removed the DMZ for the RV042. Also adjusted a few setting so that only that the RV042 behind the NAT aggressive game, also the RV042 behind the NAT router is set to authenticate using address dynamic IP and domain name while the main RV042 at the office is set to authenticate using the property intellectual property and domain name that is resolved by my ddns url. Don't know if this can help someone, but in case it does...

GRE tunnels will not come on VPN IPsec/GRE

We have 400 + remote sites that connect to our central location (and a backup site) using Cisco routers with vpn IPSec/GRE tunnels. We use a basic model for the creation of tunnels, so there is very little chance of a bad configuration on each router. Remote sites use Cisco 831 s, central sites use Cisco 2821 s. There is a site where the tunnels WILL refuse just to come.
Routers are able to ping their public IP addresses, so it is not a routing problem, but gre endpoints cannot ping. There is no NATing involved, two routers directly accessing the Internet. The assorded display orders seem to indicate that the SAs are properly built, but newspapers, it seems that last part just don't is finished, and the GRE tunnels come not only upward.
The attached log file, it seems that both its IPSEC & ISAKMP are created @ 00:25:14, then QM_PHASE2 end @ 00:25:15.

I am currently having a problem with a VPN from Site to Site traffic not only not intermittently. When the problem occurs, I can't Ping the remote site to the AC Site. But I can solve the problem by Pinging from HQ at the Remote Site. My network is currently configured as follows

Outside of the interface connected to the Broadband DSL link.

I have 4 Remote Sites. 2 sites connect you to each connection to wide band at HQ to spread the load to HQ

# The problem #.
All VPN establishes successfully to the HQ Pix
Intermittently, a remote site will report that they cannot connect to servers/services in the HQ. When I do a show crypto ipsec's and see the crypto isakmp his headquarters there is no entry for the remote site. However when I do the same on the remote site there is an entry for the HQ. With debugging on the remote site pix I try to ping from a pc to the HQ server and I get the following (see below). If I do a "ipsec Isakmp security association claire crypto ' and ' clear crypto ipsec his ' on the pix of remote site, then I can successfully ping all servers in headquarters.
This problem seems to have taken place only when I upgraded the pix of a 501 to 515 and added another 2 remote sites and a second broadband, as described above. I'm afraid that there is a problem with software version 7 Pix. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
