Vs HDMI DVI

I have video caard and taking monitor support the HDMI connection.  Is it better to use the connection HDMI rather than DI more seoarate sound connection?

Yes... What little I know on this subject, my monitor is HDMI and the card I own the road is too... support at tiger direct told me that hdmi is the best moment of anyway, but make sure you get a good quality HDMI cable, it will support better pic... I use own HDMI my 52 in TV and it is ideal for the HD TV. SHUGG

    What I'm missing here?

    I have an i7 2.3 g-Mini late2012.  10.8.5. in a studio where I fed a dual display

using a separator of video signals by - everything first, Tripp Lite, now an Aluratek - DVI 2-port video splitter (powered

    units).

Followed by all the good order in start-up, the device worked for maybe a week and a half.

Walked away and returned after maybe 48 hours either from Friday to Monday.  Computer is running

"sleep" mode... The attempt, no signal wake video monitor not recognized.  Powerd deactivation/activation, no change.

Reset PRAM and disconnected/reconnected Mini power after 30 seconds... tried reconnect splitter/monitors...

sequence... still no resolution of the video signal to not watch.  Indicators on the splitter show the signal of the i7.

and connectivity to the monitors.  I excluded this device that the fault.

Am following the process mfgr correct insofar as the separator like so new out-of-box in reconnecting

power on it - getting nothing.  Strange thing is, I had the same problem with the Tripp Lite - that's why I

bought this Aluratek separator to replace.  Now, same problem.

When connected to same monitors, this worked fine right out of the box.

Now the same problem as the other separator.  Changed two different HDMI > DVI

    cables. All cables. No change.

Either monitors directly linking ON the HDMI Mini port - display works fine.

Tried the MiniDisplay port to the separator. didn't work...

Which may conflict in operating system - something making these monitors sleep, something system-wise

who is disrupting this process?  Even pulled all other connections (external USB port stuff) and it

    did not solve.

It is also a coincidence for two separators to fail with this same issue - seems to indicate something with the

Mac. In the meantime, no double posting until I can understand it.

    Any help greatly appreciated-

    Thank you

I suspect the power adapter... and maybe check for a loop of mass too.

    Hello

DP and DVI ports using digital signals, no conversion needed, so you only need something like one of them:

I have a HP Envy 15 with the ATI 5830.  I want to connect an external monitor.  The outside is a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD and has a DVI (also has HDMI, but poor quality when used from a PC). My laptop has only HDMI.  When I use a DVI - D HDMI converter / my laptop does not detect that there is an external monitor.  I've lived all my settings and updated the Bios and video drivers.  I'm missing something. • HDMI DVI connections

Is it possible to have the DVI and HDMI connected at the same time?       If I connect both the desktop but no icons. If I disconnect one of the connections then I get the icons to display

    Thank you

Source code control - selects the video input signal.
DVI DVI selects the video input signal.
HDMI HDMI selects the video input signal.
VGA selects the video input VGA signal.

Default source - selects the primary video input signal or by default, when the monitor is connected to two video sources active and valid. The monitor will automatically determine the video format.

Auto Source switch - turns the automatic entry system video signal to turn on or off.

"Auto Source switch" is designed to be used when you have multiple sources to the monitor and want to use one of them at a time. Example... you plug a HDMI HDTV tuner and a computer/DVI. Turn on the computer and the monitor displays the output of the computer. Turn off the computer and turn on the HDTV tuner and the monitor automatically adjusts and view the output from the tuner.

If the two sources are on the option "Default Source" selects what input to display according to its configuration.

'Source code control' is to manually select a source.

  • Outputs of Revo RL80 HDMI/DVI does not

    Hi all.

I bought an Acer Revo of simplyacer.co.uk and I don't have much luck with it.

Initially, I was going to set up on my TV because this is where he lived, but television was not picking up a signal via HDMI. No biggie, cannot be a driver or just my TV being a pain problem.

I plug into one of my my rig of game on DVI monitors, working and so I go on update and installation to windows 8.1. I also install the latest Intel HD 3000 gfx driver with the hope that it will fix the HDMI and TV somehow. Turn it back on, everything works fine.

Turn off, unplug the monitor and HDMI to TV to enter again. Still undetected. Try a few different HDMI cables to see if it is a cable problem. No luck.

Next step is to connect to the platform game to the TV via HDMI to ensure that my TV is not to blame and it works fine.

Final nail in the coffin is I reconnect the Revo for the monitor of the PC, and now it works either, so that makes HDMI and DVI outputs null and void.

I can't think of anything I can do without opening the case and having a peak inside, but that will void the warranty.

Guess who I got a long wait (* beep * may day holiday) technical support.

Any ideas what I can do, or is it simply a unit of spleen?

    Thank you!

    Bravo,

I'm sorry to hear that you have received a message that they want to charge you. I can't help but would definitely recommend to contact them and ask what they charge for you and why. I hope you get this managed situation.

  • Qosmio G50: HDMI to DVI output Monitor & other related issues

I would appreciate more help with this one as literature and research provided no firm indication.

Situation is that I am awaiting delivery of a G50-10 and a DynaDock, and before opening the box I want to be sure that I can achieve key objectives. In particular, I would normally (in do not travel) wishes to operate the laptop with two external monitors and the lid closed. Media functions are a secondary consideration for the use of this laptop.

The two external monitors are 22 "1680 x 1050 with inputs DVI and d - SUB.

It is difficult to documentation, what will happen in this configuration. So, my questions are:

    1.
    Port d - SUB on the G50 will deliver 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz?

    2.
The DynaDock DVI port will deliver 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz?

    3.
The HDMI port on the G50, when connected cable HDMI-DVI external display, delivering 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz for use with Vista applications?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Qosmio G30-161: Cable for HDMI output on DVI input

I have my G30-161 "HDMI" output as well as the analog out. I began to find a cable to connect it to the DVI to a TFT monitor, but seem to have trouble identifying which is the end "HDMI" cable connection. Does anyone know the formal classification of HDMI connector (or a UK power cable) I can be sure I buy the right cable?

  • HP 2310ei monitor (DP/DVI-D) laptop VGA/HDMI

So, I recently bought the HP 2310ei monitor. It has DisplayPort and DVI - D connections.

Initially, I had planned to use a VGA/DVI adapter, but I didn't know that there is a difference between DVI - I and DVI - D. Now I wonder, what is my best option?

Buy a DVI - D Vga adapter? Or a DisplayPort Vga?

Or maybe go with HDMI DisplayPort?

Official website of DisplayPort that I read that there is no effective way to connect a laptop VGA to a DisplayPort monitor due to the analog/digital, whatever, that means, but in another topic on this Board, I also read that someone who bought a HDMI cable to DisplayPort could not make it work , so I'm a bit at a loss.

    What are my best options?

When you request support, please provide the number name and/or product complete the model of the computer that is connected to this monitor.

It is not a VGA adapter, DVI - D, or a VGA adapter DisplayPort on the market however there may be some expensive active converters. Depending on your exact computer and video output ports, you have few options. You also ask of HDMI DisplayPort goes, it can be assumed that your computer is equipped with an HDMI output. If this is the case... the easier, cheaper, and is to connect a HDMI output for HP 2310ei with a HDMI-DVI cable.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • HDMI to DVI will work on hp2207?

    Hello.

Just got a new MacBook Pro retina 15 "from Apple. They could not would not fix my old computer so I had to take another to place it. Good luck me, Yes, but I have a lot of peripheral issues. I have successfully used a DVI adapter to Thunderbolt to run my HP2207, but it is a little buggy. Could be the sleep or powersave parameters. Did not understand how to get this to work with clamshell mode consistenly.

Question: can I use an hdmi to DVI to connect my Macbook pro (hdmi) to HP2207 (DVI)?

    Thank you.

    Hi skipsax,

I understand that you want to connect your MacBook Pro to your HP 2207 monitor with a DVI HDMI connection. I did some research on this and found this information.

In this paper a monitor driver update is a section for instructors using HP on a Mac.

I also found this information at high SPEED for "can I connect HDMI/DVI.

I hope this information can help, please let me know.

  • Can you help me with a configuration of dual monitor DVI?

I went through a few weeks of effort with it and seeking a

final solution... I have an i7 Mini - 2012 model.  Two identical

Acer S241HL LED monitors.  I need the same video display DVI on both

screens.  A single monitor, close proximity to the Mini... about 1-2 feet...

The other over a distance of 25 feet.

It worked with a HDMI > DVI adapter to a Tripp Lite DVI splitter

For more than a year... then became intermittent.  I tried a different separator,

an Auralek - it worked fine about a week and then stopped.  Looks like

dispatchers to stop sending any signal wake-up is necessary after a

period of time where the computer or monitors have been turned off and then

No video signal on the power of return.    Have tested all cables,

recycled, reset everything that can be reset etc... with Mini and

monitors...  Have had the same problem using Thunderbolt > DVI adapter.

BTW, this works ok using a MiniDisplayPort > splitter VGA, but I want to

    Resolution DVI.

Bottom line, is there a known reliable separator or any other approach

It is relatively bulletproof to achieve...?  I found a

another device by Sewell who is basically a different dispatcher amplified-

who says someone worked "better" than the Tripp Lite...

It appears on diagnostic tests, there is nothing wrong with the

On the Mini HDMI port. Both monitors work fine individually

When it is connected directly to the port DVI btw.

    I hope someone can help.

    Thank you!

VGA must have resolutions more than DVI, what ground had VGA?

  • Video signal splitter unrecognized DVI - two different devices! Why?

Looking for answers - replaced a motorized DVI splitter that has worked well for over a year - using HDMI > DVI

adapter to connect Mac Mini i7 2012, OSX 10.8.5, HDMI port, to the Aluratek DVI splitter.  Configuration below - worked fine for about 2 weeks.  Then came after a few days of inactivity - computer but the display mode 'sleep'... would not wake up. removed the splitter and connected live - monitor (s) work well.   This same issue is why I replaced a divisor of model "TrippLite" - impeccable/no questions for 12 months, and more with this one.    The separator indicates its getting the video signal from the Mac... and video shows displays connected... but see monitors/don't receive it no signal.  I tried to lower the display resolution - no impact.  Have reset NVRAM, SMC several times... reconnected, the range cable several times... tired MiniDisplay Port Adapter > DVI... no luck.  ANY IDEAS MUCH APPRECIATED!  It's in a studio where I need to have dual - in a second workspace - splitter necessary because the distance to the extreme-monitor is too long for a splitter - liabilities

Technical support said mfgr this Mini graphics card can possibly work for "a while" then stop recognizing the defendant of... How do I?  If we read a single monitor, directly - connected is too much coincidence for a second separator developed the same problem as the other we had - I don't know if there is some thing in the Acer monitor settings that would have an impact on anything whatsoever but I doubt - this new separator 'fixed' the old man a problem after it was connected - and now signal is not recognized through it after a few weeks.

  • Connect new Macbook (USB - C) to dual-link DVI display?

I have a new Macbook (12 inches, retina - love), with a single USB - C. I also have a (old) Apple Cinema HD Display that would like the dual-link DVI connector.

How can I connect these two together?  It doesn't seem to be a combination of Apple adapters/connectors that will do the job for me.

You must first of all the USB - C for HDMI av digital multiport adapter.

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MJ1K2AM/A/USB-c-Digital-AV-multiport-adapter

Then an adapter HDMI / DVI

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MJVU2AM/A/Apple-HDMI-to-DVI-adapter

Connect together and on the USB - C port adapters.  Then connect a cable to the HDMI DVI to DVI for the Cinema Display and the USB of the cinema screen to the av multi port USB - C USB cable.
