  • vCenter Essentials 4 and vCenter Converter Plugin?

We bought vSphere 4 Essentials Bundle with vCenter 4 Essentials for a client, have installed ESX, a Windows 2008 Server and vCenter on this server.  I'm not ready to test migrating from physical to virtual, but can't find the vCenter Converter plugin in the vSphere client.  I was on the phone with VMWare for 30 minutes this afternoon and they could not help me?

So either vCenter Converter is not allowed with all (which would be a disappointment) OR I'm missing something.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

This is a separate option. When you "autorun" installation of vCenter DVD, there is a selection for vCenter Converter.

Andre is right, you had not installed it.

Run the setuo once more, dinstall on your vcenter converter.

You will then have the plugin available!

  • Store data customized for vSphere web client plugin

    Hello

I'm working on vSphere Web Client plugin development. We need to store custom data on vCenter server that can be configured by the user only once.

Plugin service will read the data and use it to connect to our server.

Currently, we create an XML with encrypted data and store it in the folder/usr/local on vCenter.
What are the best practices for storing these data?

    Thank you
    Vincent

Small data files can be stored on the same device running the Web Client (VCSA for Linux) or vCenter for Windows

In order to make your code compatible with the next vSphere 6.0 5.5 plugin you must use the following directories that will retain the write access:

    -/ Import/Storage on Linux

    -System.getenv ("PROGRAMDATA") under Windows.

Create a subdirectory of the plugin and write your files.  See the code in the samples/global services/Global Services-service/src/main/java/com/vmware/samples/global services/GlobalServiceImpl.java

  • Is there a vSphere Web Client Plugin UI Guidance Document?

    Hello

I was looking for a document of instructions for user interface to the vSphere Client Web Plugin.  I found one for the Client vSphere here:

    http://www.VMware.com/support/developer/VC-SDK/vcplugin/vSphereClient_plugin_ui_guidelines.PDF

Specifically, I write a plugin that will allow the user to change the settings in a new sub tab on the tab manage for a specified host system.  So, I would follow the same look and feel of other tabs under Deputy manage the tab for a host system.  In other words, I would like my list of parameters have the same title bar to research and the light blue column for the names of the Panel settings "Configuration at the time of the" as shown below, for example.

    timeConfig.png

So, if there is a way to access a global CSS file, that would be great.  Or (more realistic), if there was a directive from the user interface where I could get information on police and the color information to these panels, which would be very useful.  Or if there is another way that I didn't think to get that kind of information, I would be very grateful.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

    Steve

  • Suite of spring and vSphere Client Web plugins

Hi, I'm new to this environment.  I'm developing VMware vSphere Client Web plugins.  Installing vSphere Web Client plugins, it is stated that favorite tools include Suite of spring, which is a derivative of the eclipse.  It is an optional component to use the tool, FlashBuilder.  Eventually, the VMware documentation states that you can use Eclipse instead of the spring tool Suite, but different configuration is necessary.

I write here (instead of VMware/AST) for the following reasons.  I am able to set up the environment without the tool, FlashBuilder.  I am able to develop plugins Web Client without the tool, FlashBuilder.  However, I believe that the FlashBuilder tool will facilitate the development.  When I try to get the FlashBuilder to load, I get no longer things to work; I can't develop plugins Web Client.  Finally, the FlashBuilder tool is the only piece of the puzzle that is a licensed product, and therefore, I won't be able to buy the product if I can't get the trial version to work.

FlashBuilder has an installer of plugin for Eclipse.  I tried to install the plugin following spring tools, and I tried to install the plugin in a regular version of the eclipse.  In both cases, the problem I encounter is that I cannot locate VMware files and does not have the Virgin service which is present when I didn't have the plugin installed FlashBuilder.

Someone has no experience or knowledge in FlashBuilder getting to work in this type of installation?  Clearly, it's doable, but using all the documents that I can find online, I can't FlashBuilder work in my environment.

Thanks for any help or suggestion you may have.

You should post questions Flash Builder Flash Builder Forum.

  • Windows 2003 fails to start after the conversion from a virtual hard disk with vSphere Standalone Converter 4.0.1

    Hello

I've recently updated my host to vSphere 4. I've also upgraded to vSphere Converter 4.0.1. However, when I convert a Microsoft Windows 2003 virtual hard drive in vSphere, the resulting virtual machine does not start. He gets just after the BIOS screen, then turns black with only a white line in the upper left corner of the console.

I tried the hot and cold conversions. I tried changing the different settings of default conversion. I tried to remove the source machine and recreate.

It worked well under ESX3.5, so I wonder what I'm doing wrong on vSphere.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you.

In v4 disk are in SCSI format only.

Probably also the source was in the SCSI format... so v7 to the IDE format give you not configured in the bootloader of the disks.
