vWorkspace 8.6.1, flyway SQL support

Hi, we expect update 8.0.1 for 8.6.1 vWorkspace farms. Data bases of management currently operates on a 2008 R2 SQL and must migrate to a SQL to 2014. Unfortunately vWorkspace 8.6.1 does not officially support 2008 R2 SQL. I would have preferred to move databases in a separate step before updating to vWorkspace 8.6.1

My questions because I need a SQL migration path taken in charge:

VWorkspace 8.0.1 supports a SQL 2014 or do I have to install temporary one 2012 SQL Express, upgrade to vWorkspace 8.6.1 and move the database after until 2014 SQL?

Hello

For more details on how to move towards 2012, see here there is an attached doc that details the steps.

Thank you, Andrew

  • Gateway for Sybase or MS SQL - support of Timestamp

    Hi all

    Is it possible to get Timestamp of Sybase or MS SQL Server data?
    I thought it would be simple enough, but after a short investigation I am more than optimistic...

    The "gateway database for Sybase user's Guide" says in Appendix A, the following conversions are performed by the gateway:

    (Sybase - Oracle)

    DATE - DAY
    DATETIME - DATE
    SMALLDATETIME - DATE
    TIMESTAMP - GROSS
    TIME - CHAR (15)

    He said the same thing for MS SQL Server.

    What I need is a Sybase DATETIME in Oracle TIMESTAMP conversion, but I guess that there is a limitation of the bridge
    and is not able to use the data from Ms somehow... Am I wrong?
    Or maybe there is a magical setting in the for that .ini file? Things like HS_NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT seem to be unsupported by the Sybase gateway.

    I use 11.2.0.1 on Linux.

    Thanks for the tips.

  • Standard SQL base License

    I have a server with 32 cores. I need to buy SQL Standard 2014 for this server. 2014 standard SQL supports maximum of 16 cores. Is it possible to use all of the server 32 cores.

    For example. If I buy 16 core license and install 2 Standard SQL instances on the server. The two instances will use same 16 hearts or different 16 cores.

    Also 1 question is whether I can install multiple SQL instances on the same computer server with single license.

    Hello

    There is no way that you can use all 32 cores using an instance of SQL Server Standard Edition 2014

    If you install two instances of SQL Server Standard Edition 2014 two instances will use by default the first 16 cores.

    Affinity allows you to make use of all the 32 cores using 2 instances: an instance using one-byte affinity mask and the second instance using two-byte affinity mask.

  • Oacle SQL Developer Java Version issue

    Installed Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.09.30 (liberation, 27 August 2012) on SUSE Linux 11 r2. Also installed JDK 1.7.0_07.

    When it is running: sqldeveloper.sh sh-> pop-up window:

    If you continue. Continue anyway?

    -That means that my best bet is to use the Java JDK 1.6.0_04 version?

    I read a few bugs online complain under the Oracle SQL Developer java 1.7. But those who are back in 2011. I wonder if the problem has since been resolved.

    -Also, do I need to run the SQL Developer as user oracle?

    Oracle has delivered the warning as clear as possible.

  • Support of the functions of the table...

    Hello:

    Developer SQL supported SQL as below with the table of functions that return nested tables...

    Select * from TABLE (CSSGLOBAL. EMPDIV('454424'))

    I get error ORA-00902 invalid data type

    I'm on the Sql Developer 1.5.3

    Thanks - Yesh

    Try:

    select *
      from TABLE(CAST CSSGLOBAL.EMPDIV('454424') AS my_table_type)

    Where my_table_type is the user-defined type of table as CSSGLOBAL. EMPDIV returns.
    If CSSGLOBAL. EMPDIV returns a PL/SQL table type that is not defined for the database with code like:

    CREATE TYPE my_row_type AS OBJECT (my_col1 VARCHAR2(30), my_col2 NUMBER(10,0) ...);
    CREATE TYPE my_table_type AS TABLE OF my_row_type;

    then you have to re - write this way - SQL does not include PL/SQL tables.

  • Access to the ID of the Application in Install/Upgrade/uninstall-script

    Hello to all Togather,

    How is it possible to access the application ID APEX, which is to be installed/updated / uninstalled within a script sql support?

    I want something like this in the support of scripts:

    INSERT INTO mylog (dat, app_id, txt) values ("sysdate, &APP_ID., ' Installation has started");

    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,.

    You should be able to use APEX_APPLICATION. G_FLOW_ID instead. BTW, it's interesting that happen today, because yesterday I implemented an improvement for 5.0.2 request allowing you to also use APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL. GET_APPLICATION_ID.

  • TRANSACTION_ID Generating HFM intercompany using FDMEE

    Hello

    We have a requirement where we need to download a flat file intercorporate Transactions. However, the flat file will not have a Transaction_ID. We must generate the ID of the Transaction based on the ACCOUNT and the combination of PKI.

    Is it possible to generate the ID of the Transaction by using a Script? I tried using the Script map and put LIKE Script mapping by what follows:

    Source column: * < asterisk >

    Target column: #SQL

    Expression: CASE WHEN ACCOUNT IN (< my accounts list >) THEN 'TXN1' ANOTHER 'INVALID' END

    However, the load is handled without these mappings

    We use FDMEE 11.1.2.3.500

    Thank you!

    Well, I realized my functional requirement by writing the necessary logic in the Script of the event "BefProcMap". So, technically, the solution was conducted. However, it still does not when we define it as #SQL supported mapping data.

    When I tried to call a SQL Plus command line session, I got:

    1. use SHOW ALL in the worksheet before you run a new script to see the list of the emulated / SQL support * more SET options

    2. to display a query in HTML format (but not quite as nice as the format of your script parts)...

    (a) use reports view to create a user defined report script for your SELECT statement.

  • Cannot find a J2SE SDK installed

    Hello

    I installed SQL Dev 3.2.2 and when to run. I am asked to show java.exe.

    Then I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe

    I get the error message:

    Could not find an installed J2SE SDK.

    Any solution?

    Thank you.

    You can read in the 3.2.2 release notes:

    • JDK support

      • Oracle SQL Developer 3.2 version comes with JDK 1.6.0_35. You can use the JDK download embedded or to connect to an installed JDK. Developer SQL supports a java version minimum of to a maximum java version 1.6.0_04 less than 1.7.

    If you use the JDK 1.6 or

    install the SQL Developer 4.0 version, it works with 1.7

  • JRE issues

    I'm about to download and install the 64 bit version of SQL Developer on a new computer laptop. I have already installed SQL Developer which included JDK and have never had to install separately.

    Is it true that developer SQL supports only 32-bit version of jdk1.6.0? If the 64-bit version works is it OK to install in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Java which also contains JRE7?

    Can someone give me a link to download version never I need?

    Things were much simpler for this non-techie who has, for the first time, also problems connecting to MS Access. I posted a question about this issue. https://forums.Oracle.com/thread/2568427

    Hello

    Is it true that developer SQL supports only 32-bit version of jdk1.6.0

    N ° it is false, that I had a successful installation with SQL developer with 64 bit with the same.

  • extraction of data in a comma-deliniated in a Mysql database list

    I have a database table called meetings. In the table of meetings, it has columns named 'meeid', 'meedate' and 'meememberIDs '. using ColdFusion 9, I am able to present a date Standard in the "meedate" and a comma-delimited list in memberID that was present from a series of checkboxes in a form. It looks like this:

    meeid = 2

    "meedate = '" 2014-06-15

    meememberIDs = '3,5,67,78,354, 2345'

    Now that I have a record of the date and a is list of comma-delineate of membersID who came to a meeting, possible using SQL support to extract the Member ID and numbers match the primary key of another table called 'personal' in which each column meememberIDs comma-delimited number would return the name and the email to the Member of the staff?

    example:

    3 = michael jones- [email protected]

    5 = ebinger chris- [email protected]

    67 = alfred Fox- [email protected]

    College Kid,

    Storage of lists separated by commas in a single database column is generally considered to be "a bad idea".  Why? Mainly, for the simple reason you're struggling with - these data to other tables.  A junction table or a relationship is the best way to store multiple values.  Here's how this might work (there might be some subtle problems with the structure/query of the table syntax below that I have no experience with MySQL, only Microsoft SQL Server):

    Table of assemblies:

    meeid (integer)

    meedate (date or time)

    Table of personnel:

    personnelID (or whatever it is called in your table) (integer)

    FullName (varchar())

    email (varchar())

    ... the rest columns in existing table

    Table MeetingsPersonnel:

    meeid (integer)

    personnelID (integer)

    Instead of storing a list separated by commas on identifying personal in the meetings table meememberIDs column, you would insert a record in the MeetingsPersonnel table for each combination of staff and the meeting.  Thus in the example above, the three topics that you have demonstrated would be stored in the MeetingsPersonnel table like this:

    meeid personnelID

    2         3

    2         5

    2 67

    Now if you want to generate a list of people who attend meetings, join meetings to staff through the MeetingsPersonnel table:

    SELECT p.fullname,
           p.email
    FROM meetings m
         INNER JOIN meetingspersonnel mp on m.meeid = mp.meeid
         INNER JOIN personnel p on mp.personnelID = p.personnelID
    WHERE m.meedate = '2014-06-15'

    If you create indexes on these tables, this arrangement will happen very, very quickly.

    The alternative is to write your own function to parse the list separated by commas into a temporary table and then use the temporary table to be the intermediate join.  It will be very inefficient, especially as the number of employees who attend a specific meeting increases.

  • Difference between the use of IS and HAVE when creating a Package or procedure

    Hello

    Has had an interview in one of the company.

    They asked me that, "What is the difference between IS and as in the creation of package or Stored Procedure Usage?".

    I checked the package creation with same IS and YOU, but there is no problem.

    Kindly clarify me on this.

    Many thanks in advance.

    If this is the case, why oracle is allowing us to use and HAVE? Instead he could have allowed us to use AS single.

    No. I like IS more What did. Not to mention what the Ada (the mother of PL/SQL language), use.

    PL/SQL is allow that you use IS or ACE.

    A possible reason for PL/SQL support this, is influence of syntax for the SQL language. The ANSI SQL syntax uses YOU. And the SQL language can be used natively inside code PL, due to the integration of SQL, PL/SQL.

    Use IS or ACE.

    Many (?) use definitions of package fror YOU and IS for the definitions of the procedure and function. Not necessary from a perspective of language syntax, but serves to highlight the differences between a package signature and that of the procedures, functions, and methods.
