W 802 a or W 600 b?

Can't decide between 2018 47-inch W802A and 2014 48 inch W 600 g. price difference is huge, but outside #D, some audio power and rate Motionflow, I see little difference? No reason not to wait for 2014 W600b? and why doe sit weight much less (~ 12 pounds)?

Thank you

  • Ralink WIreless adapter N TouchSmart 600xt (600-600/t): problem w / 5 GHz 802.11n and DD - WRT fw

I really didn't have a good experience with HP support trying to figure why my wireless 5 GHz N is not yet detected by my new 600xt.  I tried to load the latest Ralink drivers and it made no difference.  There are a few settings in Device Manager on 5 GHz so I have reason to believe that it does not support 5 GHz as some previous TouchSmart users had trouble with.

This network is detected by my Dell laptop almost 2 years very well, so I didn't expect this.  My environment really demands N connectivity and even though I have a structured wiring all through my house, it is not likely that the location of this machine will get wired anytime soon.

I'm using DD - WRT firmware on a WRT600N router.  The DD - WRT software is a 2.4 version, but it's not the newest.  It is:

    DD - WRT v24 - sp2 (07/21/09) std - build 12533

If someone has already tried a newer version or more old firmware thanks for posting your experiences.

I had checked that the country in Ralink settings setting should be #7.  Nothing else seems not to apply to this problem.

I just got my 600xt the other day, but before I bought it I was wondering if 802.11n adapter that support 5 GHz.  It is my understanding that not all do.  I found a card for the 600-1050 version that says this:

    Integrated Bluetooth and WLAN 802.11b/g/n single-band (2.4 Ghz), 2 x 2 featuring MIMO technology

So I didn't even try helping with my band of 5 GHz on my router.  If yours is as well, so you will not be able to use the 5 GHz.

    Hope that helps.

  • kernel_task runaway (from 300 to 600%) CPU with 2 external displays

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012), and for a year and a half, I've had episodes fighter during the kernel_task suddenly begin to consume all processor CPU (from 300 to 600%), is the response of the system so slow it is impossible to use.  I experience these episodes throughout the front 1-2 years that the machine went from Yosemite El Capitan and now Sierra.

Normally, I use my MacBook with two external displays, both at work and at home.  At work, I have two external screens of Lenovo, and at home, I have two screens Apple (Apple Cinema Display 27-inch and 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display). I discovered that this kernel_task high CPU usage can only be stopped by disconnecting one of the external screens.  After unplugging an external display, the kernel_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can reconnect the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 300-600% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

Note that since I upgraded to MacOS Sierra fugue kernel_task CPU frequency has increased considerably: of 1 kernel_task runaway every several days to a runaway almost every 10 minutes or so.   I don't have a reason this frequency has increased, but the runaway condition seems to have worsened by the fact that the photoanalysisd daemon is running like crazy on my grand (72 000) library of Photos.

Also note that I started in recovery mode and have re-installed MacOS Sierra, and it has no effect on the runaway kernel_task.

Any ideas on how to fix this resumption of kernel_task of all my CPU?

I have attached my EtreCheck system report below.  This report was captured with two attached external displays.  At halfway while generating a report, the kicks and started kernel_task hogging CPU again.

    Problem: Computer is too slow

    Description:

Sometimes, while working with my MacBook connected to two external displays, the kernel_task pulls up to 600 to 800% CPU and stays there until I unplug at least one of the external screens.  After disconnecting, the kernal_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can plug the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 600 to 800% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

  • What is best modem cable to twin with new extreme apple 802.11 ac

I have an old motorola sb6121 paired with new apple 802.11ac extreme I bought yesterday and after 12 hours of trying everything I keep getting disconnected every few seconds... I have read all the message concerned and tried them all to play nice... When I have more signals 85 Mbps because I pay for the explosion of comcast.  I want a new modem and would like to know what is recommended... I see zoom 5141j is recommended, but I see zoom a modem cable new 16 x 4... It would be to my advantage to go with vx 16 x 4 8 x 4 channels at the time of the twinning with extreme? Thank you

What is best modem cable pair with the new 802.11ac Apple extreme

Questions like this are indeed impossible to answer... especially because that person has tested every modem with an AirPort Extreme to see if there is really a modem 'best '.  Even if it were possible to come with a modem 'best' but... it would be judicious bit to choose this modem and then knowledge that was not supported by Comcast.

Therefore, a better plan for you may be to search a list of modems supported by Comcast, narrow your choices down to 3-4 products, then post this list here and ask other users of Comcast comments on how the products have performed for them.  You can also consider posting on a forum online from Comcast as well.

Regarding your question about the new Zoom modem, this product is really new, so it will be some time before a work experience can be developed for this product. It seems that the new Zoom modem is designed primarily for working with connections to high speed... 600, 700, 800 + Mbps Internet speeds. So, unless you plan to upgrade to a plan of Internet connection with these types of speeds in the near future, you probably don't need a modem with this type of functionality.

  • TouchSmart 600: touchsmart 600 x 64 wireless network card

Ralink 802.11 Wireless Lan Card on my PC seems defective.  Wireless internet began to drop out of school for weeks, then finally wouldn't connect to the internet.  This is the latest driver to June 2014.  My computer laptop HP, 2 tablets and 2 smart phones have no connection problems, so this isn't my wireless network.  The PC is unable to connect to DHCP and manually configure IP addresses.  Diagnosis point always restart the modem (not on the PC).

The wireless network card is replaceable?

If so, are their any instructions on how to replace and where the card (or a compatible card) can be purchased?

    Hello again @tmburson,

Thanks for the information on your product. According to the page of HP TouchSmart 600-1000 t desktop PC product specifications and configurable Options , your computer has a wireless card "802.11 b/g/n PCI Express half-Mini Card + Bluetooth wireless". As long as you get the same type of card you'll be fine. I provide you with instructions on how to change it below:

Removal of the Mini PCI Wireless LAN card

To remove the WLAN Mini card, first remove

    • the hard drive and memory cover
    • the stand
    • the cover of the e/s
    • the feet
    • the back cover
    • the shield of the amp Board

Remove the shield from the motherboard.

Carefully remove the connectors of two antenna to the card.

Remove the two small screws of the Mini PCI card in place.

Point the card upward and remove the card.

Replacing the Mini PCI Wireless LAN card

To replace the Mini PCI card, orient the card in the slot at a 45 degree angle and press down.

Keep it pressed all by replacing the first of the two screws.

Reattach the connectors of two antenna to the card.

    Reconnect the:

    • the shield of the motherboard
    • the hard drive and memory cover
    • the stand
    • the cover of the e/s
    • the feet
    • the back cover
    • the shield of the amp Board

I hope this helps. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless does not parse better than 600 dpi

I searched and found a lot of similar complaints.

Integrated display HP can only analyze up to 600 dpi, while the specification specifies 4800dpi with possibility to increase up to 19200 DPI. Then I went to get the 4 800 DPI 600 dpi is ugly to analyze detailed pictures.

On the web, I found similar complaints and the indication that the HP Solution Center installation allows you to select higher resolutions on the PC which cannot be selected on the printing device itself.

I don't have a Solution Center then downloaded the latest drivers and reinstalled the printer. HP Solution Center appears to be installed as well, although clicking it leads to an error to complete installation of the printer. I tried to reinstall with the addition of a printer icon: everything looks OK, printer is on an 802.11 wireless network, but after you find the printer, the last message is always "printer setting failed" (is actually in Dutch: "het instellen van printer is mislukt".)

The strange thing is that printing is not actually a problem (on the wireless), or scan to email.

I downloaded HP Print next and doctor Scan and the printer works perfectly (prints the test page), but the Solution Center still gives the message that it can not start due to an incomplete installation of the printer.

I played with the firewall, turn off Norton360, Windows firewall and firewall router and then put it back, but the problem remains.

In conclusion: it seems impossible to get the famous 4800 dpi.

    Someone knows the way out?

    Thank you

It looks like something has not installed right. The best thing to do is rub the software of the printer to the computer using the integrated printer cleaning brush. The steps below will guide you in the process.

    Starting a download:

    1. run the disk cleanup on your computer

    2. download and run the software and the drivers below.

    3. once the download is done retrieve, cancel the download.

    4. click on the start menu.

    5. click on run.

    6. type %temp% enforcement

    7. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

    8 open the Util folder

    9 open the CCC folder

    10. run the L4.bat uninstall_ for computers not HP.  For HP computers, run the Uninstall_L3.bat

    11. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

    12. access to the files program and program (x 86) and delete all records that relate to the software of the printer.

  • 802. 1 x EAP-PEAP authentication problem

    Hi Experts,

I'm having a problem where the authentication process for two of my wireless networks prompts the user to enter their credentials at least twice before letting them on the network.

The networks in question are configured in the same way, here is an overview:

    Layer 2 security is WPA & WPA2

    WPA - TKIP

    WPA2 - AES

East of authentication key 802 management. 1 X

RADIUS servers are microsoft Windows 2008 Network Policy Service (used for IAS) - all users are Active Directory and IAS strategy enables access absed on ad group.

This has all worked well before and still works fine, if you enter the name of username/password combo at least twice on the original profile configuration. (For the record, once the wireless profile is configured, you should I not get guest credentials once again, this problem not ony during initial installation)

We have recently added an another WLAN that uses web authentication, pointing to a RADIUS server to. In order to get it going, we changed the setting to 'Web Radius Authentication' to the 'BOY' for "PAP" under the controller. General config.

That's the only change I can think of that might be relevant.

Anyone would be able to shed some light on why I would be prompted to authenticate twice? Affected clients are Windows 7 and Mac OSX at the mo.

    Hello

In Windows 7, in your properties of wireless network, on the Security tab, click Advanced settings and try to set the authentication as "The user authentication Mode" mode tab in 802. 1 x to see if it helps.

    Kind regards

  • macOS Sierra intermittently detects only 2nd screen at 800 x 600 when you reconnect

At work, I use a mid 2014 MacBook Pro retina 15 inch connected to two screens Thunderbolt.  One of the screens Thunderbolt is chained to each other through stroke, and then connect to with love at first sight.

Normally throughout my day I disconnect and using my computer laptop away from my desk, but when I go back to my office, I usually use my MBP with the lid closed and just use both screens Thunderbolt.

Despite this historically configuration works fine, after a senior officer to macOS Sierra 10.12 I met a problem when my laptop wakes up after his Thunderbolt poster.

A screen will boot correctly at 2560 x 1440, but another display will not work at 800 x 600.  If I try and manually adjust the settings of resolution for screens, I can only select 800 x 600 for posting done.

The MBP has two ports Thunderbolt, and if I change the port on which the pair of screens is two connected, the forced swaps of 800 x 600 monitor.  Anyway, once the problem starts, I'm stuck with an abnormal low resolution screens.

If I disconnect the two screens, one of them, then reconnect their power cycle, I still have the issue.

If I open or close the lid of the MBP, screen MBP works at normal resolution, but I still have the issue.

The only solution I've found now is to restart my MBP.  Then the screens work normally.

So far, this question seems intermittent, but I met it 4 times this week since the upgrade.

    Hello, Hello 165dB!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! Looks like that or have problems running on exnternal Thunderbolt displays the MacBook Pro. Read this article for steps to get help with graphics issues on external displays connected to your Mac. It has some great, you can try to see if you can get the second screen works properly.

Another option you can try is in this article: How to test a problem in another user on your Mac account. This will allow you to check to see if the problem is specific to the user or the system-wide.

Hello! My AirPort Express (802.11a/b/g) lights no more. I think he lost his power. What should I do to restore its power?

If AirPort Express light does not illuminate, this indicates that the internal power supply inside the Express did not, and the device will need to be replaced.

If you really a 802.11a/b/g in the Express version, it is at least 8 years old and probably much older than that.  Average life of this product was about 3-4 years, then you have had surprisingly good luck with your product.

  • Airport Extreme 802.11ac - I have a defective router again?

    Dear Apple friends,

I reduced a problem with my Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router which I hope someone can shed some light on.

    Things I've tried:

    • Hard reset
    • Factory full reset w. of new settings.
    • Two different Apple ID (account iCloud)
    • Connection via the devices iOS (iPhone and iPad, both on v9.3.4)
    • 7.7.3 downgrade (problem).
    • New upgrade to 7.7.7 (problem).

    That is the problem.

If I put a ID for 'Back to my Mac' Apple Airport utility > basic Station... updated and restart the router...

.. .the router will not appear in Airport utility again unless I connect to it directly via IP.

A Wi - Fi connection works fine but I cannot access the airport, or whatever it be connected until I have remove the back to my Mac (Apple ID) of Airport utility references.

This router is a replacement from the Apple Store for a faulty Airport Extreme 802.11ac, who died after a few months.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. I think again that router to Apple, but before you make the trek down there, I would be a little sure that this isn't just a bug or a problem on the end of Apple.

    Thank you, in advance.

No, you don't do anything wrong. This problem has been reported several times recently and the only 'solution' at this stage is to disable Back to My Mac on your AirPort base station, until Apple has a chance to solve this problem.

  • where is the download of the update for airport extreme 802.11n

Where can I find the update of firmware for 802.11n on the El Captian 10.11.

Then I could do it again, but it kept happening on every third image.
Thanks in advance for your advice

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the < shift >
    (Mac options)
key and then from Firefox. Is always the problem?

  • TBird 31.7, import Eudora Pro 600 mailboxes matter only 64, as well as in the box. need 600 all, how?

I'm upgrading to Eudora 7.1.0.9 for Mozilla Thunderbird 38 Pro. Found that I have to install FIRST 31.7 TBird, in order to import "all" my old Eudora Pro boxes mailbox. Installed to 31.7 TBird, attempted to import boxes mailbox. Import worked... for a while, then everything just stopped. Count the imported mailboxes, only 64 600 have been migrated. How can I move the 536 other mailboxes? I need all of them! I tried to re - import, but import only caught about 20 before crashing on the desktop. AND the 20 mailboxes, he caught were the same as the top 20 of the 64 mailboxes that had already been imported. I tried to delete these boxes to the 64 letters from the former location of Eudora Pro, then tried to import again, but only caught importing the "In.mbx' (which had been imported in the first importation). Why import feature does not see the 536 other mailboxes? Is there a MANUAL way just copy/paste the mailbox store as long as the new location is, and have Mozilla automatically recognize them?

HOLY GETOUTTATOWN! IT WORKED! Apparently, I was the incorrect option 'import '. I finally just selected < ImportExportTools > < import an mbx > and was given several options, so I chose < select a directory where the research of the mbox file to import > and just picked my EudoraConverted directory. Thunderbird should not think for about 40 seconds, and ALL the boxes of letters popped up. It took maybe another 30 seconds for all messages to fill all of the mailboxes. FWIW, the conversion was more than 120,000 messages in mailboxes on the 497. And they seem to ALL have presented, although I still test at random. THANKS for all your help. Now for TBird 1.5 upgrade to the current version! Thank you, once again! Problem solved!
