    Hello

I just did a system restore to drive with my windows vista computer, I put updates through the night, got up this am. a lot of updates failed, so I ran the victory. update again after the restart and many of those failed righted themselves, well, I have 1 update of this keeps appearing, win. service pack 1 Vista, when I go to install the update it tells me that its will take time and my pc will reboot several times during the process, if the service pack box, I ok it, click on install and within 10 seconds, the download and installation is done! He has not installed the service pack and only gives me an error or anything, said it was successful and after... hit .i win. Update, give me the same service pack download updated but is what I described a few lines to the top.  It seems to me that while updateing that updates were not updated in the order that they should have been, as "the oldest to the most recent' and I need to get service pack 1 for the i can get SP2 and so on... anyone have any idea why it will not actually download and install Service Pack 1 after I ran the disk I got rid of a bunch of stuff that I didn't not supplied with the disc before I ran the update.  and they were HP games, Norton sec. yahoo toolbar, ect. These programs would be inbedded in BONE and maybe I should have left just as if it was before I uninstalled the programs that I didn't?  I use a HP Pavilion Vista premium edition, its an old computer, 5 or 6 years old dual-core Athlon 64 32 bits of the system, 2 gig ram... Well when I go in the computer properties indicates my ram to 1918 mb made this sound right? • My system (Vista 32-bit SP2) tried to install update KB980248 for several weeks, but I keep getting error code 80073712.

My system (Vista 32-bit SP2) tried to install update KB980248 for several weeks, but I keep getting error code 80073712.  I tried to follow the directions on the site by running the system preparation tool update... did not work.  Then I tried to go back to a restore point and try the update again.  Yet once, didn't. I went back several restore points, but it has always failed.  I don't have an installation DVD, because it came with Vista preloaded.

    Help?

  • Re-installing Windows XP (OEM - purchased version of njewspaper ad without mentioning it was OEM only) after the installation of the pirate Win Xp (full version). Can I retrieve pirate settings to not reinstall aps (have about 100). __

    Hello
I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP (OEM - purchased version advertises in newspapers not to mention it was OEM only) after the installation of the pirate Win Xp (full version). Can I retrieve pirate settings to not reinstall aps (have about 100).
(I guess I have to change registry to eventually replace OEM version with pirate version - it still would make it impossible to activate the automatic updates). Or I can just reinstall registry then replace edition OEM version? (Would still allow the applications to be installed without the re - install?) (A major pain).

  • installation of SP2 removes feature "tablet".

When you install SP2 on my HP Pavilion tx1419nr tablet pc, it deletes the Tablet and touchscreen feature.  HP says to stick with SP1 and not MS update.  I have already deleted and made a recovery and tried again to install SP2, but nothing helped.  Earlier, I did a restore prior to the installation of SP2 and have the function to return.  Should I update to SP2?... will I have problems later if I'm not?... I won't MS support?  This machine has been problematic from the beginning with this and my warranty period will soon be at an end.

All expertise would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.  :-) Lo

  • Re: Win 10 update stay at 55% for 5 hours and counting

    Success!

Disconnect the external monitor see, necessary ed: I stopped, disconnected the monitor, put on the market and launched the update to win 10. The first phase where you get the % of the messages of progress went to completion, then the machine has restarted and then a second phase has begun - with % complete rework. This second phase has taken much longer, but finally managed.

It is in the first phase where I got to 55% before dropping out. Now, everything looks good.

I have a similar problem (Win 10 update won 55%) on my Pavilion 17 e135nr and will post my results here.

  • Since the final Win XP update, my XP PC freezes a lot.

I have a Win7 PC for everyday use and an old box of Win XP in my home studio for recording audio. It worked fine for quite a long time.

After recording not for 8 months, I did some work on this subject, it worked absolutely fine. Then when I stopped that day, he had a truck loaded with Win XP updates including the final XP updates.

Every time since then, one I start, 5 6 sometimes it freezes dead instantly loading the desktop, either less than a minute. The hard lock. No CTRL ALT DEL doesn't work. I have to reset hard.

I can't afford a replacement PC soon, and I need that box back immediately for the recording of the work.

A valid reason the latest XP update would be basically brick my PC?

And Yes, I have a Win 7 CD. And probably another facility left in this topic. But I doubt that Win 7 will install on this PC.

I'm more than a little upset.

You can uninstall Windows XP was last updated in starting mode safe mode and uninstall and then Control Panel.

Restart the machine when he turns again hit the F8 key and then start in safe mode.

From there go into Add / Remove programs and top-right check "show updates."

Scroll to the bottom of the list and look under Windows XP software updates.

From there, you can uninstall the updates which could be the cause of the problem, and then reinstall them using Microsoft Update

Windows Installer keeps trying to install an update for Paint Shop Photo Album, which is no longer available. How he remove without disabling the windows installer? I installed v4.5 installer that allows enabling or disabling updates. Paint Shop appears but the box is not checked, so the installer must ignore, right?

Using msconfig, I can find nothing in startup or services that will completely eliminate the problem, Evin with instaler disabled, Setup window will start to blink during boot computer has been scanned and cleaned with Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpy and Spybot. \

There is a key in registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\ referring to it.

What is no longer available - Paint Shop Photo Album or the update?

If you have uninstalled Paint Shop Photo Album, you might see if running free Revo Uninstaller is able to get rid of leftovers that could cause problems.
