W510 Bios deleted 1.12?

Last week, I found a new bios, 1.12, on the Lenovo site and it showed also upward in the Lenovo system update utility.

Now, it is not available, and the only 1.09 is available.

When I flashed the Bios, everything's fine, and restarted the W510 and ran. But I soon discovered that the authentication of the certificate for Win 7 was gone and I had to go through the tedious procedure phone to authenticate that even the online process could not authenticate the OS.

No doubt therefore that the Bios has been removed, because it appeard does not properly process the certificate.

  • Whenever I turn on the computer, my clock is wrong.

Whenever I turn on the computer, my clock is wrong. I installed Windows7 in November, but this only started happening after the new year. When I change the time display, it only changes the time on the screen. not on the clock display computer. And when I turn the screen clock is wrong again; It corresponds to display the time of the computer again.

battery from motherboard is dead I think. then, at some point, you have lost power to reset the bios clock. Restart the computer in your bios (delete seems to be a popular key for that these days, but it is f2 or f12 or f10. depends on your Board) and change the bios settings of the clock (I bet that the date is off also) then turn it off, pull the plug, count to 15, and repeat. If the bios clock wrong again then your battery is dead. If it is correct, you have a different problem.

  • Fast beep then starts when you start XPS 8700

so I just got a dell xps 8700 and immediately improved, the 650 Watt PSU and GPU to a gtx 980, when I start the machine he has has a very quick chirp and then starts as usual. given that I don't normally it starts the minute I got it that I don't know if this is normal or not, I think that I probably wouldn't put in updates before you start it at least once. Can anyone confirm if this is normal? or does that mean? I don't think that it s the code beeps it starts very well after the beep.

What version of BIOS is installed on this system?

Not sure if this is your problem but some previous versions of BIOS makes a quick beep at startup which was perfectly normal and indicated the JOB was complete. But it has been be mistaken one - beep error code meaning "card mother failure."  For later versions of the BIOS deleted the normal POST beep.

As stated by Jennifer, you will need to restore the material to its factory condition to find out if your upgrades are originally the beep at the STATION. This is why it's always a good idea to test a new system first, before making any major hardware upgrade.

  • Satellite L40-19 - need directions to the game of password BIOS, editing, deleting

    Dear forum,

On-line and paper manual for my Satelite L40 - Toshiba 19 c mention the possibility to use passwords of the BIOS Setup, but retains how set, change, or remove. (BIOS FRIEND... CRESTLINE - TOS...) On its website, society seems to stifle as well on this issue.
L40 - 19 c. utility "Toshiba Assist" does not offer a Posibility to work on BIOS.

I tried to put the password by intuition, and it worked. Weeks later, I tried to remove it: I entered the old password and left the field for the new blank password. This is the procedure to remove a password from the BIOS Setup.
The next time you start upward, however, the BIOS asked a password. No password worked: the old one not just ENTER - nothing.

Thus, obscuring a vital function of a product, my laptop unusable Toshiba. If I had not been able to remove the contents of the CMOS BIOS (Yes, it is possible without paid service), I can have condemned legally responsible society.
There are explicit laws on insufficient documentation in Germany.

I like to use the password of the BIOS for obvious reasons of security and certainly like to Toshiba to spare embarrassment to return my money for the clumsy documentation.

I greatly prefer to receive correct, complete and understandable documentation by Toshiba on how to use all functions of the product, including all functions of BIOS setup password. And of course I like to see - for the benefit of all users of this forum L40 - source download for the manual posted here. Moreover, a responsible statement would do, which is a Toshiba official statement published in this forum.

    Thank you much in advance.

    Hey Buddy

First of all I wonder about your statements you last post sounds a bit more aggressive and I don t know what you mean by professional Seraphim. To my knowledge that you will be served in this forum only common Toshiba laptop users who are trying to help other users of Toshiba laptops
    In any case

    > The point is rather on how to modify and delete a password by the legitimate function of BIOS configuration password.

The BIOS password (if it s known to you) can be removed easily
Access the BIOS using the BIOS password then you have to put the old BIOS password, overwrite it with entry empty (pressing enter) then you need to confirm this second time pressing enter) and then you save the changes you made
This is the procedure more simple that is known to me

If this does not work, then you put a bad BIOS (maybe typo) or there is something wrong with the BIOS feature.
In this case ONLY the ASP can help you

    I hope I could help a little...

  • New W510, update the BIOS - black screen on startup - guaranteed?

    Hi all!

I got a new W510 and decided to update the BIOS via the executable Windows 7 provided by Lenovo for their support-web. The program is run properly (all green checkmarks), the machine has been restarted and then stopped and started again - but she never stopped showing the "ThinkPad" screen POST. The machine started throwing his fans after some time and the machine felt hot enough it is up to the right. I waited a bit (say 4-5 minutes) if there was some additional BIOS update which took place, but nothing happened after a while, I decided to stop it. Now when I boot, the screen is all black.

This will cover in the included warranty? It must be, right?

Sorry for my late reply. As I think it is clear from my earlier post, there was still no way to load default BIOS that the screen went black as soon as I started the machine.

Two days later from my first message I sent it in for repair. Almost 4 weeks after and TWO motheboards (first one was apparently DOA) later, the machine works now. As it seems, Lenovo had some problems for spare parts quickly enough because it took almost 2-3 weeks just to get the first map of mother (DOA).

Anyway, even if it took some time, I can now enjoy my new machine

I unplugged the AC and reassembled the machine. He now starts without the password of the bios. I hope it helps someone who has the same problem. Thanks again to all!

You received two posts. I guess the servers take a little time to save the message, so you don't see it right away.

There are no simple solutions to a BIOS password, and the OS version does not affect it at all, because when you go into the BIOS there is no operating system loaded yet. Some systems have a reset jumper that will completely erase the settings, including the password, but I doubt if it's there on a W500. Typiclly tablets do not have the free real estate on the motherboard for this sort of thing. Do you really, really need it? If so I'd be willing to bet that you could send to Acer using the guarantee after service and get it cleared.

  • When starting my PC upwards, in the Bios, I have 2 options pro Windows XP How can I delete one of them?

    Hi gedneil,

    1. don't you recently try to repair or reinstall Windows XP on the computer?

If you have tried to repair or reinstall Windows XP and ending up with a parallel installation of Windows XP, you will get multiple entries of Windows XP in the boot menu.

Before you delete an entry in the start menu, you need to check and confirm that one to remove.

Each entry in the start menu will have your data and installed programs.

You must first start on the Windows partition that you want to delete, and then navigate to the following location.

C:\drive and delete the folder (Windows) you gave when installing.

Now, you need to remove the second entry in the start menu of Windows XP.

    (a) right click on my computer and then click Properties.

    (b) click the Advanced tab.

    (c) under Startup and recovery, click settings

    (d) clear the time to display list of operating systems.

    (e) under the default operating system, select the operating system that works very well.

    (f) click OK twice.

    Restart the computer and check.
