W530 AC Power Brick Buzz

Hello

I have a Thinkpad W530 I received in December and have just noticed that the AC adapter is a constant, light, humming noise. It is pretty quiet, but in a quiet room, I can still here it about 2 feet away. Is this normal? This has certainly never happened before, and I tried to plug the adapter in different points of sale. Thank you!

Hi Adam,.

I just received the adapter replacement, which works perfectly and am shipping back the defective unit. I am very impressed with the support and will definitely consider buying the Thinkpads still. Thank you!

  • European power cord for HP power brick

I bought a HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx today. It has a brick of power with a removable power cord between the power brick and the wall. The end enter the power brick has three circular rubber pins which are part of the power brick. I have an old power cord that I bought in Europe with the same type three circular rubber forks that fit into an old brick of power for a laptop disappeared. The other end that fits into the wall has obviously a European plug. Can I use the former European power cable with this new HP power brick and safetly use to power my new HP Envy 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx? The European power cable was purchased at the Denmark in a general store in computer science. It is not an HP product and was not specific to my old power brick or an old laptop - he simply adapt and worked. My guess is that the old European cord will work with the new HP power brick. It fits very well. Anyone with a real answer? The numbers on the new power brick are: F240091343004423 and CTWDHML0AG5M4LP.

    Hello

Sorry, "it will not be" in this case simply means I don't have his side is only of a few amperes, must be 5amps or more and it will work.

    Kind regards.

  • My power "brick" wrong?

I have a HP pavilion dv6500z laptop.  The 'brick' of power gets hot... not slightly warm.

    It goes wrong?

The power cord is cooler that you move away and the power brick:

cord and the line passes to the decision-making of the laptop.

If so, what should I buy (HP or 3rd party) to replace?

    Thank you

No, it's probably the largest market online for auto parts and parts of computers and other things. Think of it as a huge swapmeet with some retail stores mixed in... virtual course.

  • W530 Type power plug

  • SX20 power brick Dimensions

I have a few I need to install a codec SX20 alongside the ring, and I need to know the dimensions of the power of SX20 "bricks", as well as the way in which the wiring between the "bricks" and the codec is.  Can someone help with this?  I could not find this information in any documentation.

    Thanks for any help.

Gross measurements in now a rule next to one:

    135 x 65 x 30 mm (5.3 "x 2.5" x 1.2 "")

Note that the largest dimension is where the power cables go inside and out at each end, allowing a nice RADIUS on the cable for the SX20, and the head of the CIS at the other end, it instead of 240 mm (9.4 ").

The cable between the brick and the SX is about 150mm (5').

  • Brick power for W520 buzzing for the use

    Hi all

So I use a Lenovo W520 bought in the States during his studies in Berlin. I just got here, and though my converter/adapter handles the change of 230 (or 220: Berlin...) to 110, and the brick said it works with 100-240, my power brick cable bubbles. It heats more than usual and the only side effect is the buzz, but it scares me a little.

It doesn't seem to be any mention of the buzz and most of the things I found tend to show that things are well with laptops lenovo if you use a converter, but I want to just make sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Plug the power supply directly to the wall socket (get the adapter for the Germany). The hum occurs because your 220/110 converter which does not sinusoidal signal.

  • Photosmart 5510: Brick of power inside the camera moves around

This support site is just terrible first, been trying to support by email for almost an hour and just because I'm not at home I can't contact anyone because I have no serial number... not cool at all!

I have a photosmart 5510, I noticed when I plug in the power cord to the rear of the machine, I can feel the brick of power inside move around, in fact, it is totally not installed in place, I never heard a brick power did this before it is inside an electronic device, the thing must be screwed or something.  I wanted to know if it was normal for this machine, or there's something wrong with my machine.

    It works fine, no problem.

    Thank you

It is normal, because the power inside the Photosmart brick could be removed, in which case the power brick fails.

Figure 1. The back of the Photosmart camera.

Which look just above the power connector, there is a small screw or bolt. When you use a screwdriver then is posible to remove that cover and find the power brick.

Figure 2.  How to turn the screwdriver to open the power module.

Attention: If you want to do this, please first POWER OFF and REMOVE the CABLES from the rear of the Photosmart camera.

But it is normal that brick inside power moves a bit.

    Hope this information helps you

  • Brick power (330w) turn off when SLI Active M18x R1

Has anyone encountered problems with 330w power brick?

Currently if I'm with disabled SLI game machine is rock solid and stable, no problems at all.

If I enable SLI and load a game, 10 seconds into the game, my pace drops to single digits and passes under operation on battery. If I look at my green light brick fades slowly, at first, I thought that my surge protector was staggered so I tried different outlets and whenever I started the game with SLI brick would simply turn off.

There is no error on the laptop, no smell, no problem loading the laptop, no problems in the course of execution on a single card, its only when the power requirements are important.

If I unplug or turn off the brick and it works well again.

Support tell graphics cards and motherboard that we should replace, its def not the brick.

Since last August, the laptop has 5 graphics cards replacement, 2 cables SLI, 2 motherboards, 3 sinks heat, 2 thermal pads, 4 ram modules, 3 visits of the engineer and becomes a bit tedious.

Problems requiring maps charts and motherboards replaced have now been resolved, the system is stable, no unexplained is crushed, everything seems solid, just the power brick problem now.

  • Power to the Satellite C850-1 kN problem

    Dear friends,

I'm Belgian and I received a call a few weeks ago desperate to an English friend (she's a student).
His laptop computer Toshiba Satellite C850-1 kN 15 months old did not illuminate. No sign of life anymoe...

Much to my surprise the standard warranty period is only 1 year in England (in Belgium and in many European countries, it is 2 years).
And of course that she should have taken an extended warranty, I would have told him (and now she realizes that too of course).

So she send it to me...

For the problem itself, I tied each thing on feeding issues (power reset by pressing the powerbutton for a minute, replacing the power brick, etc., etc., I even checked the current arriving on the motherboard, and it's ok...).

What surprises me is that I find so many references to power with Toshibas (and very little real solutions...) problems.

My friend treats his laptop very well, it looks brand new, I find such a pity to throw the laptop (even for ecological reasons).

A portable well-treated should operate for 4-5 years, at least..., and a decent society should not allow to happen, not even out of warranty (at least not after 15 months).

As you know that these laptops are not cheap (especially for a student...)

Can someone give me some advice (on the warranty or any technical suggestion...).

Thank you very much for your support (and for reading this!).

    Kind regards
    William

    Hello

Obviously some serious hardware problem has occurred, and from my point of view of a few any material part could cause this problem.
I guess that the parts as modules of memory, motherboard so that the CPU may be affected, I assume that it is not possible to say what s wrong here without touching the laptop.

My laptop did lights not because one of the slots on the motherboard was faulty.
After that I removed one of the modules, the unit may be turned on.

One of my friends could not use the laptop because of the failure of memory. Two modules are dead at the same time the two parts have been replaced and unit still works so far

As you can see, the material can start to malfunction it is nothing unusual in the world of large computing
So what I will say; I think laptop engineer should check the hardware parts after you can decide whether you want to repair

  • New laptop password AC power to the battery when you play a game.

I got an IdeaPad P580 (i7, HDD 750 GB, 8 GB of ram, nvidia gt 630 m) a few weeks ago. A week ago I started having this problem where whenever I play a game, he's going off the AC power and the battery or vacillates between the two.

He did this in Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout: New Vegas and same Minecraft. Sometimes even outside of the games, but this is rare. After closing a game once, he would be off AC for a few seconds every time I opened a new tab in my browser!

It doesn't matter what mode of energy that I use. The latest graphics drivers are installed. No matter if I use the Nvidia card or disable it in the bios and use the integrated Intel graphics card. I have tried everything I can think; I plugged the AC adapter into a wall directly instead of a surge protector, etc..

When the laptop is, there are three lights on the front under the touchpad. The two left are usually, but sometimes when it produces in the Middle it turns red.

If I remove the battery and just use the AC, the laptop just shut off after a second or two in the real game.

Someone at - it ideas? Nothing at all, even if you think it's a long shot. It of frustrating to buy a new laptop and then happen, especially since the problem with my old laptop has been playing games would cut (which was overheated, which appears not to be as it is not hot).

Hmm. you have no overclock your right to gt630?

cutting like that usually means not enough power is supplied by the power brick, or the connection is loose.

How many watts is the power brick?

If the power is firmly connected, first thing to do is call lenovo and ask them to send you a new power brick.

If the problem persists, you may have a bad mother power connector. It could be opening itself, or the connector on the motherboard.

How many times you plug and unplug the power cord? and you do it with force? If you are not sweet, the brackets that hold the power port may crack.

  • Not the power of the mobile robot platform

    Hello

I just got the Robotics Starter Kit for education and have problems at the robot to work. I plugged the power and turned all the dipswitches in the off position but the power led is still off and the hardware configuration can not detect. The power brick has confirmed that he was in charge and after leave plugged in, the battery is fully charged, so it is not because as its low power. There are wires that can broke or I have to send it back for repairs?

    Thank you

    oswong,

Just to confirm, plug you the dough to the supply cable of the robot after charging?  If the battery is charged and connected, the power led should light up when the "MASTER" switch is turned on.  If the Council is not be powered, then it could be a bad connection or a power converter is damaged.  A power converter is damaged, you can check by listening to a small quiet click.  Let me know if it helps.

  • HP Jet 11: 11 flow does not illuminate. Power led flashes 3 x

I am trying to fix a 11 HP flow for someone and I'm running into some issues here.  Basically, the computer does not light and the power led blinks three times.  I did all the options to reset that I could find online, and the power brick works.  The person said that she may have fallen, so I think this has something to do with that don't turn only not on.  No idea what the three blinking lights could mean in this case?  Thank you.

    Hello

    Flashing codes mean.

1 blink = CPU does not

    2 flashes

-L' laptop can load if given enough time.

-If the laptop starts to load, try to start the BIOS of several times the ESC key until the Start Menu appears. Press the F10 key to enter in BIOS

-No, the laptop is not started. At the moment, it seems that the BIOS is damaged.

-Does anyone know if there's a cell phone similar HP that uses the same 4.7 mm long head adapter like the HP Envy 14 spectrum (14-3011tu)? I would like to buy one so that I can hack together a new cable interchangeable head then I expect new stock coming OEM.
