WAG160N & WRP400 helps wireless

Hello

I have a WRP400 connected to the internet and have a WAG160N, which is no longer, I use and would like to extend my wireless range.

I have them connected via an ethernet cable and it seems to work fine without having to configure the WAG160N (seemed to just work automatically), but I can't access the admin GUI WAG160N (tried all sorts of IP addresses in the range WRP400) to modify the (frustrating). My guess is that it probably isn't the best way to implement.

Read the posts here I follow these steps, but I have a few questions:

1. set the IP address of the WAG160N (The WRP400 is set to 192.168.15.1, then I change the WAG160N to 192.168.15.2. Or should I be the WRP400 DHCP scope setting which starts at 192.168.15.100?)

2 Swtich disable DHCP on the WAG160N. (I think I tried this last night and it wouldn't assign an IP address of my laptop, unless I've done somehting wrong)

3. connect the two using an ethernet cable.

Once I do that I should still access to the admin of the WAG160N GUI with the IP assigned to the step 1?

Thanks a lot and I can't wait to hear your expert advice.

Topic 1. Fix. Set the address LAN IP 192.168.15.2, outside of the DHCP pool. Be sure to leave the type of internet connection on automatic/DHCP.

Re 2. Fix.

Re 3. Fix.

The port on which you connect on the WAG? Port 1 or one of the other. For Port 1, there are additional parameters in the Ethernet configuration page. You must set as port LAN 1 Port it.

After these changes, you should be able to access the web interface on http://192.168.15.2/ but don't forget, immediately after these changes your computer uses an address of 192.168.1. *, so you can not access anything until the computer has an address of 192.168.15. *.

    Hello

the problem is that wireless is delivered optionally with this machine. This means that the machine does MUST NOT have wireless but can be equipped or bought with the wireless option added.

You can only do the following: you can get a mini-pci wireless card (I suggest atheros, gently work cards in almost all machines) or you take the PCMCIA wireless card, so Don t you have nothing to install ON your machine.

In the case of a mini-pci card, you can improve your machine by removing a cover on the bottom (should be more on the front of the machine) and then put the card carefully into the slot. And CAREFULLY stick antenna that plugs into the connectors on the Board. They cable cannot be repaired if you damage one of them.

It would be better to look for a technician and allow it to install the card. I think it should be much safer. ;)

HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 Wireless

    Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7

I changed my router wireless network settings and now I need to change on my printer so it can join the network.

Problem is that I throw my installation CD and it seems that you need to change the settings?

I connected via USB and downloaded the driver on the net and reinstalled but don't see an option or a chance to set the printer wifi options.

I tried to reset the printer settings wifi with three taps of the paper button while now thought wireless button I'd see change options only when usb connected, but I did not.

It seems weird and archiac you would need the physical disk to make the required changes.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I solved the problem. Apparently the installer does not completely install the wireless card. After Setup is finished, you will have to go to the network controller is not installed in the hardware Manager and that it points to the directory where the installer put the files.

  • Wireless router WRP400 WAP54G Point Wireless WPS54G print server Wi - Fi

I have a router broadband wireless Linksys WRP400 with 2 phone ports and a Linksys WPS54G wireless print server. Unfortunately, the signal is too weak to detect the wireless Print Server 20 meters/yards away at the other end of the House. (Works fine when they are close together).

Linksys Help Desk told me that a WRE54G amplifier is not useful to extend range, because they will have only a helping hand signal by 50% compared to a WAP54G wireless access point that they recommend.

Can you suggest the best way to increase the signal between a WRP400 router and a wireless WPS54G print server? Would a WAP54G wireless set to halfway between the two (or in some other way) is working to boost the strength of the signal between WRP400 router wireless and wireless WPS54G Print server?

I don't want to have to wire all devices.

No forum topics cover using the WPS54G and WRP400 together, hope I can push the signal strength wireless - thanks for your help.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8625: HP8625 sleep mode/wireless network connectivity

I recently bought an OfficeJet Pro 8625 and it worked fine for a few days, with everyone in the House, being able to print wireless connection network (Verizon FIOS via an Airport base station).  However, now it won't keep (or restore) a Wi - Fi connection after going to sleep.

I can get the printer to work, if I turn it works, then immediately print (but only one machine... If I need to print from two different computers, I have to restart again to use the second computer).

This is the case for all computers in my house - using several OS X (El Capitan, Mavericks and Snow Leopard) and the other with Windows 10.  I tried the troubleshooting tips that I could locate, and the firmware is up to date.

I should be able to send a document to the printer from anywhere in the House, from any computer, without walking to the printer and restart it first.  A network printer should be sprained able himself, reconnect to the wifi and print jobs sent to it, but mine doesn't.

How can I solve this problem?

These settings are to set up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, wireless devices stay better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers must always be assigned an IP (fixed) manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto off" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. If necessary and you have assigned a static IP address, try using auxiliary for the preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS server.
    5. Wireless printers work only on the 2.4 Ghz band.
    6. Make sure the printer is on the latest firmware by checking with the HP support site.
    7. Check all devices wireless in your home for interference. Check microwave, babyphones, phones, wireless and wireless alarm systems are a big culprit. Any of these will knock at your printer wireless intermittently.
    8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 6 feet, independently of the other.

In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES encryption (personal), but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.
    7. Save all the settings. Food at the same time, wait 2 minutes.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.
    8. Marketing the printer and check that it reconnects to the router.

Windows 7/8/8.1 is discovered the system on or off?

    1. Control Panel/Network and Internet/network and sharing Center / advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under home or work (current profile) / network discovery.
    3. Select "Turn on network discovery" and save the changes.

Now last thing to do once everything above has been tried and you still have the same problem, completely uninstall and delete the printer and its software.

Use http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php and powerful Scan at the end.

Now go back and reinstall the drivers and full software on the HP website.

Last resort effort - if your printer has an Ethernet connection, suggest you to get some adapters line and convert your Ethernet wiring for your printer.

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. 3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).
