Want & HP DV6-6152nr ent nbk upgraded HD 650 GB at 5400 RPM to the largest SS HD

HI I have a HP DV6 - 6152nr Entertainment Notebook with an HD 650 GB at 5400 RPM.  I would appreciate information on how to UPGRADE to a faster disk of the SS.  You want to know if no size limit of the unit for the bios to work, if I can upgrade the bios so I must, without limit on memory needed.  I know this has a computor memory 8 GB limit (improve which?) connections are the same (that is, SATA, etc.  How can I?)  and everything I need to consider... I have Win 7, I have to upgrade to 8? etc.  Thank you for your help in advance.  It is also possible to swichout for a backlit keyboard?  Can I get one in the HP store and it is hard to change?

Hello

You have a lot of questions so please bear with me for the answers:

1. Yes, you can go for SSDS, at this stage of 512 GB (more small HARD drive existing) is top of the range and should be ok for your machine.

2. for the RAM: maximum support is 8 GB, I checked the entire series, they don't take over max, 8 GB

3. your machine uses the standard SATA, very probably the SATA II controller. You can check this by using the following program:

FTP://FTP.CPUID.com/PC-Wizard/PC-wizard_2012.2.11.zip

4 No, no need to upgrade to Windows 8, but it is up to you.

5. Yes and no depending on how you look at this because you need a new motherboard to plug the keyboard lighting.

The cost of the above upgrades will put a big hole in your pocket. Please find the price/performance ratio before deciding. Save money to buy a new machine is certainly much better.

Kind regards.

    Hello

That Advanced-N 6205 isn't in the manual as compatible. I think the best map is Intel WiMAX 6150 pn # 633817-001

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-Compaq-633817-001-6150-Intel-N-WiMAX-612BNXHMW-Wireless-WiFi-Mini-Card-/300790282650

    The Manual:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842252.PDF

It is listed an Advanced - N 6230 Intel chip but the part number belongs to Centrino Wireless - N 1030 and so far no one has confirmed any chip Advanced-N 6230 working with a laptop Dv6-6000 series.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 - 6119tx HARD drive upgrade question

    Hi all

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 - 6119 notebook tx. I am facing a SMART hard disk error and I need to replace it with a new hard drive. It currently has a capacity of 640 GB 5400 RPM HDD Toshiba. All I want to know is can I replace it with a 1 TB hard drive, 7200 RPM (with SATA 6.0 GB/s)? May be I have to 5400 RPM (with SATA 3.0 Gbit/s)?

    Hi kiranmanju

After some reading on this subject, I think I'll go with MistaB.

SSDS and hard drives are treated in the same way by the operating system, and they are easily interchangeable. So no, you shouldn't have any problems during the installation of a faster 7200 RPM drive to replace your current drive to 5400 RPM.

There are only a few things you need to know when buying a compatible disc:
    (A) interface: the vast majority of readers is SATA, and it is what you need
    (B) 2.5 "or 3.5": the first is for laptops, the latter is for desktop computers
    (C) drive height: most of the hard drives 2.5 "are 9.5 mm, and it's what fits most laptops. Some high-capacity drives are 12.5 mm

Other than that, the rest of the variables are related to performance.

but I can't guarantee anything of it now. I don't really know why then the user's Guide for your product just omitted part of 7200 RPM if they do not harm anyway. I recommend that contact HP technical support for more details.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion dv6 entertainment pc: memory upgrade

Can I upgrade the memory in my dv6 - 6047cl from 8 to 16 GB?

Yes because it is an Intel processor:

    Manual

    p. 5

Of course, the question is why? 16 gigs is overkill for most people who use never totally 8 gigs. The money could be better spent on an SSD. But yes you can upgrade to the modules of 2 x concert 8 or 16 GB of DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM memory.

The manual tells how to make and references HP for the upgrade of memory.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and want to know if I can upgrade to Windows 7 using Windows 7 anytime upgrade

    No, it will not work.

Windows 7 anytime upgrade: you have Vista or XP currently installed?

If the product you have Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' does not allow to move from XP/Vista to Windows 7. You can buy the product at retail of Windows 7 Upgrade not the ' Anytime Upgrade '.

Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' is for moving from one version of Windows 7 to a higher version, such as Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

where can we get this Vista Upgrade Advisor Software?  Anywhere, there is a link saying need us for this software - it's rather Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor...

We want to upgrade to Vista without having to reinstall all the software/programs, set up users, etc., on this computer.

This software "Advisor" we apparently will tell if we can do it.

    Hello

Do you have an upgrade copy or a full copy of the Windows Vista product?

Vista Upgrade Advisor in is no longer available for download.

Check if your computer meets the criteria of minimum system requirements to install Windows Vista.

If you want to keep your files, settings and programs, you will need to perform an upgrade installation. Before installing, uninstall any security (antivirus)
    and CD burning software.

NOTE: You can backup all your data before moving to Vista to be a good side.
