Want M7-k111dx: upgrade CPU on Envy M7

I was wondering, since I was able to upgrade my HARD in an SSD drive, if I could upgrade the processor as well. 2.6ghz is a bit low for me, and I really need it to be an i7. Also, if I upgrade, I would buy the processor of?

Model no. is Envy M7-k111dx, East of processor i7-4510u.

Thanks in advance,

I want to upgrade my CPU on my computer laptop envy m6-1153sr and I know it's possible, but im not sure I can put what ever processor that have the same socket as i7 and i5 Office have the same fasteners 1155, and so I can buy a good intel core i7 to as Amazon and then put in my laptop?

Well, it's not a socket 1155. It is an office and yours is a mobile processor, socket FCPGA988. You can upgrade the processor, but it will cost more than the value of the laptop. If you want to go faster, consider a solid state drive, not a processor upgrade.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite Pro C660-219

    Hello.

I wonder just to upgrade CPU on my laptop to get some perfomance.
I did the upgrade of RAM to 8 gb and 64 bit Win7.
    Now, it's processor i3 - 370 M (3 m cache, 2.40 GHz).

    I'm sure I can go to i3 - 390 M (3 m Cache, 2.66 GHz) processor, but it will be useless IMO.
It has same Cache and just a little bit faster CPU count:

    > I need someone to answer the question: can I ride this laptop an i5 or i7 without problem with compatibility with the motherboard?
You should know that upgrades of processors are not supported by any laptop manufacturer. This means that no one can tell if a CPU would be fully compatible and cause no worries. These upgrades are own risk.

You could read this statement from Toshiba about upgrades.
[Is it possible to upgrade the CPU or GPU of a Toshiba laptop computer? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm]

The point is that even the chipset which is part of the motherboard would support the new processor, BIOS would not fully compatible and the combination of BIOS and the new processor may cause new troubles.

The camera seems to supports the INTEL HM55 chipset and to my knowledge, the Toshiba Satellite C660/C665/Pro C660 series is based on a Dual Core/Quad Core Processor (* Intel Arrandale processors *)

So if you want to find a compatible CPU, you should check the processors owned by the family of processors Intel Arrandale.

  • Qosmio X 770-116 - can I upgrade CPU i7

    Hi all

    I currently have a Qosmio X 770 - 116 Core i5-2410qm / 8 GB 500 GB 17.3 - tft Dvd Win 7 Azb

Can I upgrade the processor to a core i7?
If so, what is the name of the i7 processor?

    Thank you

    Jos Sallets, Belgium

This Forum on NECK, we discussed several times the upgrade. For best performance, a lot of people want to upgrade CPU. Update CPU is not supported, and in particular cooling system, each laptop model is designed to work with certain hardware platform.

In general the Qosmio laptops have the best material with excellent performance, so I put t know why you think the CPU upgrade. In my opinion, you should spend RAM and HARD drive. It is supported and can be done by the owner of the laptop without losing the warranty valid.

Maximum RAM HDD Upgrade and upgrade with SSD and you will see the difference. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is.

I ve do on my laptop. It works perfectly now. Think about all of this.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite P100-434

    Satellite P100-434 BIOS v 4.80 does support the Core2Duo T7500 Intel proccessor?

I'm currently have T5500 and want to update to T7500, is the same thing but I don't know the motherboard/BIOS card can support this CPU?

    I advance thank you

For CPU upgrade, there are several different important things and not the BIOS only.

Check it please this Toshiba document initially - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

  • Satellite L505-10 t - upgrade CPU

    Hello
I own a Satellite L505-10 t and want to change the CPU with a more powerful model. What are the processors supported today?

Update CPU is not supported and if you do something like that, it's at your own risk. Toshiba has created a document on this subject and you can read it on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Also very important is that this action will void the warranty. In my opinion, it is not good idea. In General, the performance of the processor can't be so bad and what you can do is RAM and HARD drive upgrade. RAM can be upgraded to the maximum level and the HARD drive can be swapped with fast SSD.
I did it on my machine and the performance of the laptop is just amazing. Two upgrades are supported by Toshiba and you can do it ourselves.

  • Satellite A300-1ED - upgrade CPU of PDC to C2D

    Hi all
Small question. I still have six months toshiba warranty on my A300-1ED. laptop is very good. Never fail. But it lacks performance so I want to upgrade my PDC T2390 to some C2D processor.
Tell me what model of C2D my A300-1ED runs (card mother and bios)? T7500? T5750? Frequency FSB? 667 or 800?

Someone at - he do it before?

    Thanks for all the tips!

    Hello

First of all, you will lose the warranty if you would disassemble the laptop!
This should be clear to you.

Then there is no guarantee that your laptop would go well and stable after this upgrade the CPU.
I m thinking about issues of compatibility between the processor and BIOS since the BIOS was pretested with the other processors.

However, I have read some threads here on the CPU upgrade and some users do that
Seems that some laptops run without any big problems after upgrade CPU, but I think it's not consistent for all series

Perhaps this topic could be useful:

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite C70 - A - 16 L

Hello, first of all I apologize for my bad English hahaha.

    I have a Satellite C70 - A - 16 L with pemtium processor I want to change it to an i3, i5 or a i7, is it possible?

    Thank you

Upgrade CPU on laptops is not supported. This means that no one will be able to tell if the new CPU would work and if the laptop would be stable after this upgrade.

Primarily this unit seems to be new. In this case, the warranty is still valid. If you disassemble the notebook in order to remove the CPU, you will void the warranty.
    I put t think it's worth a try.

PS: even if you want to put a new processor, the performance gain is not noticeable. In my opinion better upgrade would be the use of SOLID-STATE drive instead of the HARD disk

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite A100-521

Hi all, looks like a good forum here! I'm looking for more information about upgrading the processor on my Satellite A100-521.

    The current main specifications are:
    Intel Celeron M 360 (1.4 Ghz, 400 Mhz FSB)
    2 GB RAM PC2-4300
    60GB OCZ SSD 2 Vortex
Windows 7 (works well, but without Aero)

So it's the CPU that's the weak link, verified by the Windows performance index.

I did some research and it seems that the chipset is AMD Radeon Xpress 200 m http://www.amd.com/u...s-200m-amd.aspx which is apparently compatible with some Pentium and Core 2 CPU: http://en.wikipedia...s_200_for_Intel

Any ideas what I could update? Didn't need to be very fast, just a little faster with the processes of daily...

    Thank you!

    Hello

Upgrading CPU is generally very delicate due to the compatibility of the BIOS.
Although the chipset would be able to handle new CPU, BIOS can cause problems.
But no one is able to say that if cell would stable after these updates if you want to be 100% sure, I recommend choosing a CPU that has already been used in the A100 series
Otherwise, it would be possible that new CPU would not be addressed by BIOS correctly.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite A200 - 1 M 8

    Hello

    I want to upgrade CPU in my A200 - 1 M 8 (now there is T7100).

    I consider two processors:
    (a) supported by T7700 Merom with 65nm, casings made PBGA479, PPGA478
    (b) T8300 Penryn with 45nm, casings BGA479 taken in charge, PGA478

I would prefer Penryn becouse of low power consumption and less heat generated then Merom.
But I don't know for sure, Penryn will work on my laptop?
There is also no update BIOS for A200 - 1 M 8 (PSAE6E) - I gess, that my bios does not support newer T8300.

I searched internet and have not found anyone who has done this before.

I recently updated the BIOS from v2.11 to v2.15 that caused my windows 8.1 crashing but in some way, I solved this problem and with that please let me know if there is anything else I need to know before upgrading CPU. I have already ordered 2 x 4 GB DDR3 SO - DIMM 204-pin RAM Corsair. I tried to call the tech Department of Lenovo. but they weren't any help. Here, any help will be much appreciated.

  • Pavilion DV7 Upgrade CPU

I have a PC entertainment DV7 Dv7 (2273cl). Recently, I had to change the motherboard and learned how to make so that I might also be able to upgrade the processor. Looking in the maintenance manual, authorized processors include a CPU that I bought on Ebay (Q9100). The Q9100 both my original T6600 CPU are all two registered in the maintenance manual, so I think the Q9100 would work in my computer.

I installed the new processor and it fit perfectly. But once I had everything back together, the computer would start up, but I would get blink codes by the capslock and above the number pad of a single wink separated by 3 seconds, which, looking around, seems to be that the CPU does not code.

So is there a way to get this CPU to work? It's a quad core vs a dual core. Do I need to Flash the bios to a higher version prior to make it work? Startup will not go far enough to bring me to any type of screen or anything that would allow me to get this working.

Of course, I'd like to upgrade one dual core to a quad core.

Any help would be most appreciated. When I went back to my old processor, I couldn't start the computer and had to take it apart and put it all together again to make it work, so I don't want to tinker around too much in the computer, I do not have a route safe to go ahead with.

    Thank you

    Jon Fernandez

In addition, I have discovered how to find my current BIOS version which is the following:

    F.46 25/08/2011

    Thank you

If this is the case I would avoid upgrading CPU completely... too much chance of bricking it.

  • Upgrade CPU ZV-6131us

Hello Forum HP. I need your knowledge and your suggestions. I have a Pavillion ZV-6131us with Windows XP Pro I want to change because I have a new laptop on order and support for some purposes XP APR 2014. I want to change the CPU, install Windows 7 (64-bit) and install an SSD.

CPU - I currently have a NewCastle AMD Athlon 64 3200 + socket 939, Vcore 1.5V, 89W CPU. CPU is available in laptops ZV6000/R4000 series were the Athlon 64 3200, 3500, 3800, 4000, Sempron 3200 and Sempron 3000. Also, I'll probably go with the Athlon 64 4000 (ADA4000DEP5AS) I've learned has been renamed and sold as the FX-53.

The Athlon 64 4000 swap is a type of "plug-n-play" to install? Next generation AMD CPU as the dual core X 2 can also be used?

    Athlon 64 X 2 3800 + P/N: ADA3800DAA5CD, socket 939, Vcore 1.3/1.35V, 89W

    Athlon 64 X 2 4200 + P/N: ADA4200DAA5CD, socket 939, Vcore 1.3/1.35V, 89W

    Athlon 64 X 2 4400 + P/N: ADV4400DAA6CD, socket 939, Vcore 1.3/1.35V, 89W

Windows 7 64 bit - loading Will this OS with no hardware compatibility / issues?

SSD - I can get a SSD IDE or an IDE 7200 RPM HARD drive with similar capabilities (64-100 GB) for almost the same price, so I'll try the SSD. An SSD will work in the ZV-6131us?

Bonus? -A new CPU, Win7, and BIOS update will allow me to increase the limit of 2GB memory ZV-6131us currently has? Y at - it a update system/mother card that exceeds this limit of 2 GB memory?

Current configuration: Pavilion ZV-6131us, Windows XP Pro x 86 (version 2002) SP3, AMD Athlon 64 3200 + (New Castle 939 socket, Vcore 1.5V, 89W), card system HP3085 with ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) Rev.00, BIOS F.17 (21/06/2005), 2 GB of memory, 256 GB primary HARD drive, 1 TB drive HARD school in optics drivebay caddy.

    Thank you.
    -Mike

This notebook is an office in the clothing of the laptop. You can install the Athlon64 4000 but not anything newer (dual-core). If you can find an IDE SSD it works perfectly. 64-bit Windows 7 will install and will work perfectly. It is a 64-bit system. The 2 gig RAM limit is going to be a problem, however. In my view, which is limited by the chipset. There is no more recent motherboard. I'm not sure that the Aero in Windows 7 Desktop will work, but I think the ATI xPress200 is Aero compatible. You might want to check before you upgrade.
