Pavilion DV7 Upgrade CPU

I have a PC entertainment DV7 Dv7 (2273cl). Recently, I had to change the motherboard and learned how to make so that I might also be able to upgrade the processor. Looking in the maintenance manual, authorized processors include a CPU that I bought on Ebay (Q9100). The Q9100 both my original T6600 CPU are all two registered in the maintenance manual, so I think the Q9100 would work in my computer.

I installed the new processor and it fit perfectly. But once I had everything back together, the computer would start up, but I would get blink codes by the capslock and above the number pad of a single wink separated by 3 seconds, which, looking around, seems to be that the CPU does not code.

So is there a way to get this CPU to work? It's a quad core vs a dual core. Do I need to Flash the bios to a higher version prior to make it work? Startup will not go far enough to bring me to any type of screen or anything that would allow me to get this working.

Of course, I'd like to upgrade one dual core to a quad core.

Any help would be most appreciated. When I went back to my old processor, I couldn't start the computer and had to take it apart and put it all together again to make it work, so I don't want to tinker around too much in the computer, I do not have a route safe to go ahead with.

Thank you

Jon Fernandez

In addition, I have discovered how to find my current BIOS version which is the following:

F.46 25/08/2011

Thank you

If this is the case I would avoid upgrading CPU completely... too much chance of bricking it.

Good news, bad news. The good news is that it can take 8 gigs. The bad news is that it's DDR2-800 memory. 8 GB is very expensive:

  • HP Pavilion dv7-3116eo CPU update

    Hi all!

I recently inherited a HP Pavilion dv7-3116eo Entertainment notebook not working. The lights (one blink) indicate that the CPU does not work.

The processor is an AMD Turion II M520, do I have to replace it with the model, or can I switch to the M600, M620, M640 or M660? These are all Caspian 45nm SOI with TDP of 35W, just like the M520. But what supports the motherboard?

I searched on the site of HP support for the specifications of the product, but there is no mention (that I can find) what motherboard processor supports the dv7-3116eo. This link was the best that I could find - no list of processor: :-/

    Hello, @EricWerk

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

According to the Guide to care and maintenance for your laptop, you can switch to the m600, m620, m640.

What is compatible and references are also found in the guide, as well as instructions on how to replace it.

I hope you're able to help.

  • Pavilion dv7, upgrade memory with faster modules

    Hello

PC10666 memory modules can be used to upgrade Pavilion dv7 3170em (WC152EA)?

It is currently 2x2gb modules clocked at 533 MHz, will replace the two modules.

I intend to replace them with KINGSTON ValueRAM or Transcend JM1333KSN - 4G 4 GB at 667 MHz modules.

These modules can be used, i.e. they can downlclock at 533 MHz?

    TIA,

    Davor

In the end, I found 533 MHz modules at a decent price, so I bought two 4 GB G.Skill F3 - 8500 CL 7 modules. Did some burn-in tests, everything works OK.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion DV8000 upgrade CPU, RAM, HD & OS

    Hello world

I have a HP Pavilion Dv8000 (Dv8336ea is the exact model number).  I intend to upgrade the processor, RAM, hard drive and OS and have a few questions about the limits of upgrade on this computer.

He is currently running XP pro, but I intend to upgrade the operating system to Windows 7 64-bit, if I can find an upgrade of the CPU 64 bit appropriate.

The vehicle currently has an Intel centrino Duo CPU T2300, but I'm not sure which processors are compatible. y at - it an easy way to identify compatibility? I know that it can be removed, but what would be an upgrade recommended for optimal performance?

Is there a limit to the size of the hard drive, can I install it? He had a hard duel disks. Is there a problem with the installation of a hard drive 7200 RPM? It's the BIOS that limits the size of the hard drive that can be installed?

Finally, what would be the limit for RAM after CPU and operating system upgraded. What defines the limits of the RAM in a computer?

Help with any or all of these Q greatly appreciated!

    Hello:

The GeForce Go 7600 is a graphic adapter Windows 7 and should be able to run all the pleasure of the eyes in Windows 7 and have the same resolution that you had in XP.

Try the latest nVidia driver released for it.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_win7_64bit_179.48_beta.html

I see that you have a wide screen monitor... According to the resolution of your screen, with the appropriate driver, he should be able to get 1440 x 900.  That should give you the view you've been waiting for.

3 GB of memory can be used with a 4 GB max RAM capacity is perfectly normal, even with a 64 bit OS. You need the chipset Intel 965 for the 64-bit OS in order to 'see' all 4 GB of memory. You have the 945 chipset.

  • Pavilion dv9550eo: Upgrade CPU T7300 in dv9550eo since 2007

I'm still in love with my old HP Pavilion dv9550eo since 2007. It is being upgraded with Windows 7 x 64, SSD and a new GPU-fan. Still going for my use

I see in the owner's manual that adapted T7700 2.4 GHz my computer. But it's not a difference of speed of my T7300 2.0 GHz. Y hugh there any CPU better suited to my computer?

It is now my CPU: processor Intel Core Duo T7300 (2.0 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB).

Is it possible to put in a new SSD and put up in RAID? Or is it the other components that is the bottleneck here?

    Hello:

If you have the version of the BIOS F.45 or more recent version installed, you can install one of these processors as together on the release notes for v F.45:

    @sooperglew

You need your memory problem.  See the response I posted on your other thread.

You won't even have a CPU upgrade.  Run Windows resource monitor in the background and then start the game for about 5 minutes. Now, put yourself in the resource monitor and click the CPU tab and look at the history.  How many processors are used and what percentage microcopies (busy) for each processor?

  • Pavilion dv7 CPU upgrade

I had my pavilion dv7 for awhile and its never been much of a portable game, I recently wanted to know why. It turns out that my cpu is the carp. My laptop is HP PAVILION DV7-6153NR NOTEBOOK PC and it came with the AMD Phenom II quad core p960, which has only 1.8 ghz output. I want to know what can I replace it with (which would be compatible) and how to do it.

    Hello

A list of compatible processors from AMD and a description of the replacement procedure can be found from Page 95 your & Maintenance Guide.

  • Upgrading the CPU HP Pavilion dv7-1175nr?

I can't find the manuals that I seek on the HP website.

So I ask, if you know the CPU I can use to replace the one I have right now.

    HP Pavilion dv7-1175nr

(Taken directly from CPU - Z)

    Thank you!

In fact, I have the same model exactly like you. He could switch to a Core 2 Duo HP offered on the dv7-1xxx series, which I'm sure that includes the T7800 2.6 GHz:

    Core 2 Duo mobile table

You should be good with a Socket P.065 35w nm CPU 800 fsb. Let me know how it goes. The T5800 with only 2 megs cache is kind of lame, I agree.

  • How to upgrade my pavilion dv7 HP 6000? CPU? Memory?

I would like to know if there's another AMD processor that can make my computer faster and if it will be worthy to do.

    Thank you.

N ° it is technically possible, but you don't have to do. Consider a SSD instead. If you need to upgrade CPU, it takes the exact processor, you have so we can see if there is even a faster or if you have already the fastest. Memory can be useful if you have less than 8 GB.
