Want to re - install XP on a Vista computer

I want to downgrade to XP Pro (from Vista).

The problem is that I don't have the Product Code for Windows XP Pro.

I looked on the product on the PC Code sticker, but it says it's for Vista.

The thumbnail next to him, said "OS: Vista demoted to Win Pro.

So my question; Can I re - install XP Pro on my computer, and if so where can I find the product key? (you mind I have no documentation on the XP key.)

d521yts

you don't say which version of vista you have

you need vista business or vista ultimate to use downgrade rights to xp pro

There is no right to downgrade to Vista Home Basic and vista Home premium

For more information on this topic, contact your oem computer manufacturer

If the above does not apply to you buy a license and xp operating system

But first check with your computer manufacturer to make sure that xp drivers are available for your model computer

If there is no such thing as no xp driver you're wasting your time trying to install xp

OK, mine worked. Try this, launch the installation and leave it. He goes to the image of the planet and (assuming you have vista) is the blue circle of loading/waiting time and does not seem to do anything. about half an hour / an hour later a thing saying install the disc we will appear, fill and disappear. then the image will change to the beach I think. Once again, aaaages later, the bar for disc 2 is displayed. It must do this four times, then its done. so I just left it overnight and in the morning, he did. Ive played all the tutorials, then at the end of their he tried to save and crashed: s so I do not know what that means, but I was not back on. • Vista SP2 wants me to install KB947821, but it is already installed

    Hello

Recently I tried to install vista SP2 without result, he gave me error code "SP1 must be installed", but he was already. To resolve this problem, I used the instillation of vista disc to upgrade my computer to vista, which corrects this problem. I then proceeded to the install SP2 and restarted my computer, resulting in a complete system failure and the inability to restart my computer. I tried to reinstall vista via the instillation CD and it did not work, so I had to delete all partitions including my internal backup and finally it has helped my computer install Vista from the outset.

Since then, I downloaded almost all the updates as well as on, KB947821 and tried to install SP2. Now, I get this error message when trying to install (after preparation of your computer room):
"An error system not service pack install. Please download and execution tool the "check IN" http://... "but I already did.

    I tried other things:
VLite removal: vLite did not exist
Start in selective mode: same mistake as main

Please help, I would really have the SP2.

  • I want to install SP1 for windows vista 32 bit.

Original title: we must install ps1 for windows vista 32 bit.

I tried to download it, but I'm not. What can I do?

    Hello

    You mean SP1?

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

    Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299

  • Accidentally installed a clean Windows Vista 64-bit version when my computer is running 32-bit.

I wanted to do a clean install of my Windows Vista. I had my manufacturer installation cd but didn't know that they put two in the package. Thinking that they only gave me one and only good cd I just jumped it withou double check and guess what it was that bad. Now, nothing works as it is not installed the proper drivers. Help! Is there a way to fix this? I have the correct installation cd but my cd drive is not workingand I can't online. Is it possible to connect to another computer so that I can get online to download the drivers and then reinstall? Is there a way to get to my score? When I look at the recovery disk folder there is nothing in it. I'm not the most computer savy as you can guess very well but I take directions well.

Just a few troubleshooting steps to see if the drive is bad or if the DVD player is bad:

    1. If you have another DVD player available try to use this drive in your computer instead.

    2. If you have another computer available, try the disc of Windows 7 by using this computer and see if it can read the disc, or if the disc cannot be read and is bad.

    If the drive is bad:

To replace the installation discs for the manufacturer of the computer:

Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation to your computer disk - they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

    Hello

You will need to contact Dell about this and see if they still have an XP CD to sell you to reinstall XP

IF Dell still have an XP disk available for this model, you will then need to clean install XP to replace Vista as an operating system.

Here are a few Dell informatiion on this computer model:

  • How can I install Russian keyboard on Vista Home Premium?

When I bought this HP laptop a few years ago I had no problem affecting up to switch between English and Russian of the taskbar. I have the music and the text of the files with names in Cyrillic.

When my computer would not start, I took it to a reputable store where they have replaced the hard drive, operating system, etc., and they copied all my files on the new drive. The files with the names of Russsian appear as question marks for each character. I called the repair shop and they said that they have installed the operating system my computer is certified for, and I needed to upgrade to install Russian.

I just want the ability to read and write in Russian. I want etc. dialog boxes to appear in English. I could do this before. Why can't I do it now?

    Thanks for your help.

    S.K.

    Hello

because you must set the operating system to display correctly and was able to write in Russian - this might help (I think VISTA might be defined as well as WIN7):

  • Can I install multiple copies of Vista Ultimate on the same machine?

    Hello

I want to give to my family access to my machine (after a lot of introspection - us material are very protective of our stuff :)).  However, I will not give them access to my installation optimized for Vista game: it took an eternity of disabling and uninstalling things to do to get into this State.

I know at least one of them will want to install full of things, such as the device drivers and IBM DB2 and other things that I don't really want to have it on my setup, that is purely for the start in as fast as possible and to play games on.

So I want to install another copy of Vista on a different hard disk on the same computer to use.

Will it be legal?  It will activate OK?

    Thank you

    Hello

    NO.

    It's not legal

A vista license = AN installation of vista, even on the same computer

You can set up different accounts for them in the existing vista installation

User accounts to ensure that several people can easily share a single computer. Each person can have a separate user account with unique settings and preferences, such as a background theme and color office. User accounts also control the files and programs that you can access and what kinds of changes you can make to the computer. As a general rule, you'll want to create standard accounts for most computer users.

Original title: PC is NOT good!

In an attempt to solve a problem, using all the help I could find online and in help, I somehow ended up with 3 drives (C, whose space is very low) (D, which it WAS, the original disc and only) and the so-called ' Simple Drive (I think) which is only unallocated space.» Is not a computer scientist, I am to the point that I want to uninstall Vista, then reinstall it. Can I install and older version of the Windows operating system, eliminate everything, then reinstall Vista 'strictly '? I don't want to create havoc more than I already have! Thanks for any help.

    Hi PCPuzzle,

Please take a look at the following article regarding the installation of Vista.  In particular, please go through the section onThe Windows Installation by performing a clean Installation:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista

In the instructions, don't forget to go through step 1 that talks about installing from the disk and step 7 which addresses your partition problems, where to install, delete etc.

External DVD USB drives are cheap. Usually $20 for a good quality player. Just buy one of these at Best Buy or another store and use it to install Snow Leopard. Then you also have a drive for something else that you have on the disk.

  • Install Labview application on vista machine.

A fairly new programmer, I wrote an application in Labview 8.6 and built an installer which works fine on XP but when I try to install it on a Vista machine, I get an error as follows:

As I say on XP Pro, no problem.  Anyone has any ideas that might help?

I guess the z: drive letter you are trying to install the software from a network drive. Try to copy the Setup program on a local drive and install from there. I had problems calling installers directly from network resources in Vista.
