  • Captivate 5: Insert success, failure, and hint of legends

    Hi all

I tried searching this forum as well as the help of Captivate and have no growth with an answer to what I'm sure is a very simple problem. I'm creating a quiz in Captivate and accidentally deleted my success, failure and legends of suspicion on every slide in the question. Is there a way to get back them on these slides without having to recreate each slide of the question? (I noticed that if I add a new question, new success, failure and hint captions appear in the default style, I designated.) However, for existing slides, I was unable to make the captions I insert act as success, failure, or hint of legends; Similarly I can copy/paste them to a new question slide where they appeared automatically.) Can anyone help?

    Thank you!
    Karyn

If you select each slide of the issue and for the Quiz properties panel, you can check the boxes to get the Correct back and suggest captions (incomplete).  But there is no option to return to the legend of the failure.  You must go to the failure of the levels take place and make sure that it is set at least one.  You will probably find that it is currently set to zero because you deleted the legend of failure and supposed to Captivate that means that you do not want failure as an option.

  • Processes necessary to remove line

    Hello

I need to create a process that will allow users to remove a line when they press 'Remove accused', this isn't a button but a link to the column in the table that also redirects the current page. I don't really know what to do.

If you want more information, just ask :)

    Thank you
    Sandy

    Hi Sandy,

OK - keep in mind that my page is number 212 and I'm working on a table called EMP3, which is a copy of the sample table EMP (I just added a button to fill again the EMP3 table if all the records are deleted!)

    That's what I did:

    1. I created a report using the following SQL statement:

    SELECT EMPNO, ENAME, JOB, HIREDATE
    FROM EMP3

2 - I then created a "Hidden and protected" page element called P212_EMPNO (you create a hidden item and then select the option 'Hidden and protected' to do so). This will be either NULL or hold the EMPNO of the element to remove value

3 - I then went back to the report page attributes for my report and click on the task of 'Add column link' (on the right of the page). When it is created, I returned to the report attributes and clicked on the option "Custom" sections and changed the title to the new column to & nbsp; (this is just a space and means that no topic is displayed)

    4. I then clicked on the icon to change to this new column and scroll down to the "links" section. There, I made the following adjustments:

Link text: Delete (you can put whatever you want)
Target: Page in the present application
Page: 212 (which is the current page)
    Point 1 (name): P212_EMPNO
Article 1 (value): #EMPNO # (which is replaced by the value of the EMPNO column for each row in the report)

Then you click on apply changes to save it

5 then, I created a new branch in the page. When creating this, the only parameters that I made were:

    Page: 212
    Reset pagination: checked

It's just an unconditional branch - you should have one of them on every page, unless you have dealt specifically with connection via buttons

    6. now the important bit. I created a new process on the page — by clicking on the icon create in the section of the Page Rendering process. The settings I made were:

    Process category: PL/SQL
    Click next

Name: P212_DELETE_EMPNO (or what you want)
    Sequence: 10
Point: When loading - before header
    Click next

    Enter the PL/SQL Page process:

    BEGIN
     DELETE FROM EMP3 WHERE EMPNO = :P212_EMPNO;
     :P212_EMPNO := NULL;
    END;

    Click next

    Success message: (what you want)
    Failure message: (what you want)
    Click next

Condition type: the value of element in the Expression 1 is NOT NULL
    Expression 1: P212_EMPNO
    Click on create a process

And it should be. You now have an element of hidden page that either NULL or will receive an EMPNO value via your new column binding. When the link is used, the page is reloaded and the new process checks if the value is P212_EMPNO. If it has, it uses this value to delete the record and then resets P212_EMPNO to NULL.

  • I want to force a sequence to fail on an error, but also a failure

I want to force a sequence to fail on an error, but also a failure.  It came because the only way I can find to stop the dialogues of Labview error to arise in TestStand is to use the property to ignore errors of time run on a step. I don't want these dialogues to occur because operators do not know how to deal with them. The problem with using the property to ignore Run Time Error, it now is a step that had a runtime error will not kill the sequence. I really want to interpret a mistake as a failure.

I found a link to this same question years ago and the answer seems reasonable.  See http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/Force-TestStand-Step-to-Fail-When-Error-Occurs/td-p/435510.

In this post, I found the following: "use the SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError callback sequence. In this sequence, set Parameters.Step.Result.Status = 'Fail' and Parameters.Step.Result.PassFail = False ". But when I pull up the reminder SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError, niether of these parameters have on the list of parameters. I have Parameters.Step and Parameters.Result, but nothing filled under these broad categories.  I don't know if I have a Setup error, or if the reminder has been changed over the years.

    Someone at - it advice?

    Thank you

    Dave

Put a breakpoint in your sequence a little after the step and check the runstate variables to see if they match. This post was made in 2006 and there are a lot of changes since then. Adding in the breakpoint should allow you to see what variables are created at run time, as the passfail. You can then enter in the browser of the expression. When chacking the statement, you will get a warning saying that the syntax may be incorrect, but it's nice. It is also said in this post if you know what you are doing to the variable may be created when running and you will be fine.

  • Quiz, with failure I want the answer to appear.

When the user does not have the question, I want the answer to show. I'm looking for: Questions edit > Options > bad answer. It says 'Action for failure' and I choose 'show' in the dropdown menu, but can't fill the 'Show' box. He wants me to take 'value' to the box, but there is no value in there. I want a text box with the correct answer show so they can learn from their mistakes of the quiz. How can I implement my idea?

The simple, not fancy, to the solution of point, I used when I had this problem was to enter the answer in the "legend of failure." Simply click on the legend of failure

Properties and after 'Wrong' enter text that gives the correct answer.  You can then resize the legend of failure so the correct full text can show.

I've implemented a CDaq Avecquelques modules, which is a NI 9477. I use it turn on and off different parts of the system.

The system runs a HV PSU, and if it is not common, there is a chance that the system can the CRA. When this happens, it has tendency to act like a bomb of ESD, and who killed the communications OR on a few occasions for us.

One of the elements which is controlled by the NI 9477 is the power supply, and I want it going now that such a communication problem.

Is it a possibility at all?

I hope this is in the event of a fault or the communication, all the outputs (or outputs including) on the NI9477 fall to FALSE.

If it's something security-critical, 1) you should not use USB and 2) you must use a cRIO or a RT cDAQ chassis.  With these, you can have the figure of the controller off if something went wrong and stop.  With the cDAQ, you're practically dead in the water.

  • I have a 'C' IDE drive failure I have a SATA drive connected via a PCI-SATA controller card. I want to change from hard disk IDE 'C' on the SATA drive. What are the steps to achieve this?

Running Windows XP Home, I want to change hard drive as described above.

As a result, I have a USB hard drive, which I copied the hard drive of the original 'C', before it fails altogether.

Is it possible to copy this USB drive on my SATA hard drive and have as my primary hard drive?

Unless your third sata card supports the option to boot from this map, its not going to work. Not all sata cards are bootable.

  • Want to start MESSAGE 23 failure - d010ea

    Greetings,

I'm trying to untangle a machine for a friend.

    It's a pc touchscreen feel like 23-d010ea.

The initial symptoms were - made power cord in and immediately the main fan has started running, this continued until the power cable has been removed.

So, I removed the RAM, hard disk and DVD, powered up and down and reconnected everything - no difference.

Then I removed and reinstall the CMOS battery - this changed the symptoms to the machine sat quietly, as would be expected, when the power cord is connected. The white light by the power connector is on. By pressing the power button on the top of the machine starts the fan, which breeds. It continues for a few seconds, then the powers of the machine down.

The two white LED side (HD?) don't light up at all. One of them blinks briefly just before the machine goes off as the main HD is accessible (or told to close maybe, not sure).

All the tests of disconnection and reconnection repeat after behaviour change - no difference.

    Is it a motherboard failure?

There is no activity of the screen - it remains off all the time. There is no beeps to be heard (I?) assumed that the machine uses the speakers under the screen - I haven't seen or had to attempt a repair on a such system before. I'm used to the areas and the separate screens (though I have some experience with the maintenance of the laptop and component swaps).

    Linux user since 2002

  • How the tags are stored and then backed up?  Don't want to do all this work if a system failure and the need to start over with saved photos will be all the work of marking saved.  Or IIR/when Lightroom is so more suitable or an option as the next photo p

Backblaze in particular, but it would be for any backup or future software I guess.

Tags are stored in the file in your catalog. If you want to have them available after a disk crash, you should make regular, automated backups of your catalog on a different physical disk files. You can enable this in Lightroom via settings-> General-> Backup catalog. Note: you should always take backups of your photos, this feature in Lightroom doesn't have backups of your photos.

If at some point you consider moving away from Lightroom, you can also write tags to the photos themselves (or in the case of RAW for the XMP sidecar files). This can be done by selecting all the photos and metadata-> saves the metadata of files (Note: this will take a lot of time if you have selected a large number of photos). You can also turn on the option to automatically catalog settings-->--> write metadata changes automatically to XMP. Any tags written via this method is readable by any other photo app that I know.
