Warning of risk in raid 0 disk

Hi all

My system:

Windows7 64 bit

First CS4

motherboard: X58A-UD3R

CPU: Intel core I7 930

6 GB OF RAM

I got my new system. I leave the computer shop set up for me with Raid 0. "There is a warning in an application called"Intel Rapid storage technology"on one of the disks in the raid indicating:"disk at risk"and it has a yellow triangle warning sign. When I press the "reset to normal", once again it has the green checkmark, but after a while returns the warning. I got to the lab only to find out that they are not so professional. They have checked all disks, told me they were OK and that the warning did not appear again. When I get back the computer I discovered that I had to set up matrix Raid 0 again in the Intel app and after cela returned warning.

Someone has encountered this problem before?

I know it's more a computer problem, but there are knowledgeable people here, which can be experienced with raid, so I thought I would ask here.

Thanks for any info you may have

This means that disk fails on 1 or some Smart requests that Council sends to the player. This is one of the main features of the chip so

It is still in its infancy.  This probably means that player will fail sooner rather than later. I would like to back up your data now and

    Hello

IM using external storage of Welland ME-580J dual Bay raid equipped two WD 2 TB green HDD in Raid 0.
Using the connection on my 500 - M 2 X esata I only see a hard drive. Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology software can see both drives and will report the correct amount of storage.

Windows Disk Manager will see 1 HDD. I spent several hours trying to find a solution, but I was not able to find a solution.
Access to the external storage via USB works properly, but it is slower than esata.

Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

    Solution to what?

As much as I know RAID 0 is nothing but striping and you cannot use two hard drives as separate units.
Every HARD disk has several parts/blocks and they work together.
Using RAID 0 will at the same time access to these two hard drives and it will increase the speed of transfer rate.

I don't have this camera and can not test it, but it makes sense to me that windows Disk Manager see as a player.

  • Startup on P900 RAID 0 disk (should not have been set up in RAID)

    Hello

Today, I received my P900, and it came with 2 rather than 1 (512 GB) SSD for the master boot record and is in RAID 0 would be the establishment I have ordered. 1 SSD and no RAID for master boot record (straight out of the box of the OS Boot primary disk watch 568 GB free on 936 GB).

In addition, there are 2 3 TB HDD in RAID 5 using the FLEX RAID controller.

The computer is running Windows 7 Pro. Is it possible to transform the startup (2 x 512 GB SSD) in a JBOD disk implemented, ideally without having to reinstall windows and everything else?

I am very familiar with RAID in place, but can handle more than likely unless there are specific instructions.

    Thank you!

No, I wouldn't use this hotfix.

    1. Why did you decide to run the check disk in the first place?

    2. is your partitioned hard drive?  You have more than one listed partiton for example in workstation?

  • What type of Raid and disk offline

    Hello world

    Thanks for reading this.

    I have a Dell Poweredge T6300 with a Perc H730.

    It has 8 drives 1 TB 7.2 k.

    It has a C drive and a D drive.

Looking at the Server Manager / file C and D Storage Services seem to be Raids but I'm not sure what kind.  One of the disks in the set of 4 seems to be flashing orange offline.

Server seems to work very well.

Seems that I can't find a way to check the type of Raid without stopping and running Perc H730 map (CTRL + R) software.

    Is this true?
I think I can hot swap according to the Type of Raid, and I believe that the hardware supports that.

I was wondering if I think in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi DLOJ333,

Did you mean you have a T630 instead of T6300 model?

You can install Open Manage Server Administrator, who will monitor your condition storage and server real-time hardware. Just make sure that you check to install Storage Administrator. This may require a reboot of the server for the registry and the service is running.

Additionally, make sure that you are running Windows Server.

  • Add the RAID 5 disk in an array without openmanage

Hi can anyone tell me if its possible to add a new disk to a RAID 5 existing table on a server without using poweredge dell openmanage software. The reason is that I am that it is almost impossible to get openmanage installed down to questions of sql and missing installation files. I'm not a DBA and that society relies completely on a sql server for all its activities on the day the day I don't want to change the Setup on sql server options.

OMSA didn't need SQL. I think that you install rather OME (OpenManage Essentials). OpenManage Server Administrator (Managed Node) is what you need.

You can do this on some newer controllers, but without knowing what system and controller you have, hard to say. Nothing more than 3-4 years need OMSA. You can also use a live disc OMSA to start education reconfigures.

  • Updated full M610/620 PERC H310 Mini RAID 1 disk

I have 8 servers in my M1000e chassis.  They have all two drives 146 GB in Raid-1.  Just got in a boat load of 600GO drives gently used off PE R630 servers who are re-designed in a laboratory.

I would like to replace all the records with the largest, with minimal downtime and no data loss.

Advice? Tips? Advice?  Everything would be extremely appreciated before I mess up and make + 400 users very angry with me...

    Hello.

It is possible to perform this operation with minimal downtime. Ensure that you have a backup validates your data just to be safe. You can do this by deleting every old hard drive and replacing with 600 GB disk, one at a time. Let the new drive to rebuild completely before replacing the other. You can monitor the progress of the reconstruction in OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) if installed. Clear the foreign configuration if it appears on the disc, if the drive rebuilt and state LOAN ; assign as a Global hot spare.

You will notice that the total capacity of the virtual disk (VD) will not 600GO, because there will be unused space on the disks. You will use the property capacity expansion (OCE) online from your controller to claim unused space. In OMSA, GB storage-> PERC H310-> virtual disk-> available-> Reconfigure tasks-> capacity and continue. Under RAID level, select RAID 1 and enter 100 to recover any space unused on the disks and continue. See schematic illustration below:

  • RAID 10 DISK FAIL

    Hello

yesterday I change a failed drive on my server poweredge T310 with RAID 10 configuration consisting of 4 SAS 15 K 278 GB drive.

On the first reboot after changing the disk, the bios perc ask me to import (F) raid configuration or entry Raid (utility), I chose F.

My sbs 2008 starts normally, but the disk replaced in windows apper as a new drive, so my RAID 10 is always degraded.

On the console of administration of server now, I see 2 virtual disk (1 RAID 10 and 1 single disc), on virtual disk I can do surgery (delete, having-right/remove the allocation of relief, rename, political change, replace meber disc).

I can solve the problem and my raid 10 rebuid

    Thank you very much

    Matteo

Go to the page of the virtual disks and delete the single disk volume. It should then show under physical disks as a loan, then you can assign it as a hot spare to begin rebuilding in RAID 10.

  • C220 M3 independent RAID / hard disk configuration

    Hi all

We recently received a C220 1.5.3b M3 which will serve as a virtual machine for Cisco servers. I have difficulty getting the machine to detect the hard drive, which I added. It does even not show the hard drive in the boot option in the BIOs. I watched some of the related topic and found this: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-com...

The list of hard drives are given in table 11 of the document. At the end of the table, he States:

Approved (1) the RAID Configurations on board, mezzanine cards and all RAID PCIe controllers

If you have not selected the option upgrade integrated RAID (ROM5 or ROM55), a mezzanine card or a PCIe RAID controller on the internal disks (LSI MegaRAID 9271 - 8i or 9271CV-8i), you can select up to 4 drives SATA only which will be controlled with the only integrated SATA RAID controller.

Otherwise, select up to eight SAS + SATA drives listed in table 11. You can mix SAS and SATA drives

Does this mean C220 needs a RAID controller or a Mezzanine Card to detect a hard drive?

Also, should we use hard drives in table 11?

    Thank you!

    Greetings.

According the data sheet you have referenced, you may use any Sata disks listed with the controller on board.

If you have the ROM5/ROM55 or LSI megaraid card, then you can use one of the disks SATA or SAS registered.

If you bought the SAS drives, but strictly the sata controller integrated without the option ROM5/ROM55 chip, then do not see or be able to use the disks.

If you use other readers what can be found on the data sheet, the system will not recognize the readers.

If you have disks Sata and intend to use the built in software raid LSI, you will want to confirm that you have enabled the UCS ROM option (see http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220/raid.html#80418

Note that the embedded software raid controller is not supported in VMware.

    Thank you

  • Single RAID 5 disk failure, bad start

    I have a T110 / Perc s100 / Raid 5 (3 discs). Ctrl-R shows deteriorating table, single disk failure/off line.
Server 2003 seems to boot normally, instead results in a blank screen with the mouse arrow to work in normal mode and safe.  Is a reconstruction of the still picture once I replace part even not. HARD DRIVE? Is the bad boot due to the degraded range?

You could use the Dell installation utilities, that might have loaded the appropriate drivers for you. You cannot use this process here. I suggest you nLiteOS.com.

If I have to replace the RAID 0 drives in case of failure, which is currently 600 GB total together what type or size to replace by?

Can take any size or it is intended only for about 600 GB?

I know that readers should have the same capacity and type or duplicates of each other, but what about the size limit?

The INTEL driver will automatically take care of everything, including the RAID 0 configuration, formatting, and reject if the size is beyond it is engineered capcacity?

Hello, KnuckleHead, here is the link to the specifications for your system. It shows that this system will allow a Raid array with these disk configurations.

    1 TB (2 x 500) 7200 RPM RAID 0 SATA 3 G (3.0 Gb/s)

Also, it shows this configuration but doesn't mention Raid0, so do not know if this configuration is supported for a table, Raid0, but I would think so.

    2 TB (2 x 1 TB) 7200 RPM SATA 3 G (3.0 Gb/s)

You should be aware that you must set up the Raid0 array before you can install the operating system.

You can do this after you have installed two new hard drives, by starting the system and after that the HP Logo screen disappears, press the ctrl key and the key at the same time to enter the Intel Matrix Raid utility. Once there, you select the desired Raid Matrix type, in your case, Raid0, then select two drives for the Raid0 configuration table, save the settings and exit.

The system should reboot and with the operating system disc in the optical drive, the system should boot the disk to the operating system for a new installation. During the installation process, you will see a screen that ask you where you want to install the operating system. You should see two partitions. The first partition is a partition of 100 MB Windows 7 creates for the Setup program and other files. Let this partion as what and select the larger partition for operating system installation.

The operating system should proceed normally. You must back up all the data on the original Raid0 array since when you break a Raid array, you will lose all data on the hard drives. You will also lose your recovery restore partition that is located on the original Raid0 array.

You also need a copy of Windows 7 from any disk from HP that have been created on the original array Raid0 recovery no stay would be valid for the new Raid0 array.

This is possible, but is not for the faint of heart and you need a new drive of the Windows 7 operating system, unless you have the CV provided the upgrade disc. HP Windows 7 upgrade disk can be used as a disk of the new facility. You would need to enter the product key and activate the operating system after the installation.

Break your table into smaller pieces. ESX requires a minimum of about 10 GB, even if you can make bigger it. ESXi requires only 1 GB. Data warehouses may not be less than 2 TB. You may be able to use virtual disks raid based to break the table.

  • 2950 III Raid hard disk requirements

Hi all, I have poweredge 2950 III with raid 5 and has 3 fujitsu hard drive in raid 5. Now, I want to add more hard drive to my raid 5 volume. What kind of hard drive is supported in raid 5 design?

I read it somewhere that it must be the same speed and size. So I intend to buy the same speed and size. But my question is can it be different model or brand? Other brand or model supported in raid 5 of design? Another brand or model can work, but I'm not interested to use it if it is not supported by design.

Please let me know if I need to add more information.
