Watch Information manifests in LMS SCORM

We are courses download our LMS (cornerstone). When we launch the file, there is a section to the right of the actual price that appears to display the information of SCORM manifest file.

I was not able to determine if this is something I can disable or Captivate or cornerstone, but I know we do not want to show him (it seems messy and takes a lot of the screen).

Screenshot is below - someone ' a had this problem before and managed to remove it?

Much appreciated!

Hello jnifferg,

In looking at 'course editor' of Cornerstone, he declares: "cornerstone supports all properly formatted SCORM v1.2 courses up to 250 MB....

You may contact your customer success Manager and see if they are capable of the SCORM 2004 edition?

I hope that everything works!

  • Captivate use a Java plugin for browsers and what happens when Java is progressively to our on our LMS SCORM course?

    Hi, I work with an LMS (called clarity) and our supplier has indicated that when the Java Web browsers plugins are disabled or are more supported come September 2015 (I think they are referring to Chrome for September 2015) that the any of our courses created with Adobe Captivate does more work because they rely on Java to transfer information from the courses in the LMS. Is that correct, and how can this be addressed? We have hundreds of courses created with Adobe Captivate® 5 and up to 8 Captivate, accessible via Internet Explorer, most of the time. All courses are SCORM compatible (1.2 and 2004). Thank you!

    Captivate uses JavaScript, not Java. All of the tutorials use JavaScript to interface with the LMS because it is not dependent on server and maintains the shareable part of SCORM intact.

    No worries.

  • Unique name for the SCORM content downloading 3rd party LMS

    I use a 3rd party LMS and trying to download content.  I publish the release without any problem, which creates a file filename.zip.  Regardless of which is the file name, when I go to browse by transferred in the LMS, the name is always "ADOBE_PRESENTER".  That's why I have a lot of different packages that all look the same.  Is there a setting in the host that can be done that will make this unique name?  I talked with the support staff to our LMS, and they said they did not have this problem with other guests.

    Hi Michael,

    In this case, it is really hard to determine what information is the LMS pick up to name the course.

    If we could get the information of LMS, which file is that it uses for naming during output zipped folder, we try to look into this.

    In addition, generally we have always the ability to rename our classes uploaded to the LMS. For example. When the publication of an LMS as scorm cloud, the downloaded course is always named as Adobe_Presenter and users generally rename their courses to keep track.

    Please mark this answer as correct if you find it useful.

    Let me know if you need additional assistance.

  • SCORM 2004 in AS3

    I have a file in flash (SWF) needs to talk to an LMS (SCORM 2004). I have the FLA that I can publish with SCORM 2004 followed. I need the syntax for the provision of the SGA with the student's progress through courses, results of the review, students name etc. Can anyone help!

    OK, I'll try to break this down piece by piece.

    Regarding the ADL test suite, you are right that it is probably not installed correctly, or there is a problem with its configuration. Its rather notorious as being difficult to operate. Once the work however, its very useful. Whatever it is, it really should not have any impact on your flash content. In terms of being able to test your content, I suggest that you take a look at cloud.scorm.com. even if you are not intending to set up a 'cloud' course, it's a great test environment (100 meg test acct is free) and really easy to use. Simply download your package and it will notify if you any scorm errors and warnings to be fixed in the manifesto and you can test all the courses you like.

    On your flash content:

    Just to check, you have a wrapper for an user interface that you load your interaction/read SWF files. Your flash content should have absolutely 0 impact on time or not, you can get your toolkit to run. So, all you really have to worry here is send and receive varying information from your LMS. When you test here, usually, I add another layer to my content with a few predefined text fields. to track changes made to variables scorm, I work on during a test/debugging.

    Most of the code for your SCORM course should probably be handled in your UI wrapper as opposed to your content slides.

    If you end up going the road of pipworks (I highly recommend this course all by scratch it management), then you just need to set up some features reporting.

    in general,.

    I use one for the initial load of the user interface. This is where I put all status and get all the values that I need (like the name the student, current progress as your bookmarking information, etc.)

    Can I use another function to update my progress to the lms

    And finally have another that updates the data required for the marking of the quiz or other content received you can have.

    So to call the latter, (with the possible exception of the initial report, which should be called the one based on the configuration of your user interface). I just use a custom event and possibly check for a lable of frame on the last frame of your content to call the function you need.

    Once you have tested it at the local level (i.e. by ensuring all the side flash works, and things like your quiz data are actually reports to your user interface handler). You can then watch actually test in the ADL package or something like scormcloud.

    For details: do a search for «scorm» 2004 reference PERIOD It will be invaluable for you long term.

    "For bookmarking, take a look at" ""cmi.location '. Basically when you load your course you want to get this value and say your user interface to start at this slide.

    The principle is the same for the learners name of the lms.  See 'cmi.learner_name '.

    Now, quizes can get a little complex depending on how and how much information you want to communicate to the LMS.  What I consider the key those who are 'cmi.score.min', 'cmi.score.max', 'cmi.score.raw' and 'cmi.score.scaled' as cmi.success_status. I run usually by making the content of your files "cliché" to your user interface and then have the user interface of the LMS report.

    I hope this starts you off in the right direction. If you're still stuck, I'm willing to help trouble shoot of specific questions, or if you need clarification on something, let me know.

  • Icons and black screen that appears when published the missing LMS

    Hello

    I tried to search online, but need some advice on how to solve a problem of publication I encounter.

    Captivate 7

    SCROM 1.2

    When I run a SWF file via my IE browser, I have no missing icons or black screen that appears. During the generation of the content to publish SWF with HTML5, it passes through successfully.

    When it is published through LMS, couple of slides in the length of the content, I am facing some missing icons and black screen. I read an article saying check on imsmanifest.xml that could help solve the problem. But watch and read the code, I am pretty well confused to determine what lack us here.

    Comments or the recommendation how I can solve this problem?

    Concerning

    AJ

    Publish your Cloud SCORM LMS SCORM online and test the functionality here.  If he plays as expected, the problem is with your own LMS and you must get their technical staff working on the problem.

  • Send variable cpQuizInfoAttempts of LMS

    Hello

    I have a dilemma with which I hope someone can help.

    Our LMS provider don't capture "number of attempts" to a quiz taken. We need to show the number of attempts for a test for regulatory purposes.

    Because course Captivate provides these data (variable cpQuizInfoAttempts) and updates, I'm looking for a way to convey this information to the LMS when the course is completed. Our supplier has indicated that they can build a work around if I can get the course to transmit these data.

    We used 5 Captivate and the course has the value infinite tent to pass the test - we just need an account of attempts how much they took.

    Alternatives to use capture these data via another method would be appreciated.

    Help me Adobe communities - you're my only hope!

    See you soon!

    Stu

    Ok.  So as far as I know, the only way to solve your problem would be with a custom programming to pass data to your course to the LMS in a format that the LMS would agree and PUT in its own database.  I can't help you with that. I'm sorry.

  • Acrobat Connect Pro and LMS

  • Download Adobe Presenter and Captivate of LMS

    Hello, I am interested in Adobe Presenter and Captivate software products because I believe that they meet my need to create software simulations/demos for my employees.  We have a cornerstone LMS (SCORM v1.2) in place and I would like to be able to create simulations and assign them to my employees to take using my LMS.  In addition to assign courses/simulations I create to employees by the LMS, they need to access through the LMS, too.

    So, I'm looking to confirm that if I create simulations with Adobe Presenter and Captivate that I can load the entire course/simulaton to my LMS for my employees to view/access.  Is this possible?  Is that for the quiz followed in the LMS?  If not possible to have the sims assigned and available through the LMS, what are your recommendations?

    Looking forward to your comments.

    Both are compatible SCORM. I created even (for students testing) assessments with Captivate and score in the notebook (Blackboard used as LMS). For courses that didn't need to score, package download is possible as well. The LMS followed if the course has been visualized, finished (last is also possible by creating a SCO).

  • Course does not load in LMS

    We have a number of courses, we have created in Captivate 5.5 until we could proceed to 6.  It seems that most of these courses have had some sort of problem with loading and recovery.  They will begin to charge the player and just hang on 'Loading '. I read somewhere that resume data 5.5 did not play always nice with the LMS while we hoped to republish these courses in 6.

    My question is this: Going to republish a queue of 5.5 to 6 correctly fix/update resume data, or are we fundamentally no luck with these courses?

    Our complete situation is a little more complicated, but a clear answer to this would help us to get a piece of the puzzle and eliminate a variable.  We have reissued a 5.5 to 6, succeeded him, and he still seems to weigh on the loading screen. But the strange thing is, it works perfectly well with other networks.  We are not affected by any filter/firewall issue between our servers and the LMS, so I can't understand what makes Captivate courses especially hang on OUR network.

    UGH.

    Captivate 6 drivers totally new SCORM introduced from the same company that makes the LMS SCORM cloud online, which is apparently the most compatible SCORM LMS on the planet.

    Because these SCORM drivers were introduced, we were see much less reported LMS integration issues in this Forum of Adobe Captivate.  So I highly recommend that you upgrade to the Captivate, but I would say that you are upgrading to Cp7 now rather Cp6 and you will get the subscription type and that in the future all your licenses will use the software later.  Try to get the good integration with LMS is a moving target.

    Another thing I would say is that you make sure that there is no caching of content Captivate of the course is on your network.  It is possible that your problem could be related to old copies of course always being served by Proxy servers.  One way to test is to publish the same course with a completely different name and see if it suffers from the same problem.

  • Mode multi-SCO does'nt works with scorm 2004 (captivate 7)?

    Hello world

    I recently published a mutli scorm using 7 Captivate and scorm Packager multi.

    Eveyrthing works very well when I publish every scorm 1.2 content and use multi conditioner after scorm. It works very well in my LMS (moodle and Dokeos).

    But when I publish each content scorm 2004 and after use multi scorm Packager, my dish does not work in my LMS. A new window is open, but nothing is displayed.

    multi socrm.png

    Anyone has the same problem with mutli scorm Packager captivate 7 and scorm 2004?

    Best regards.

    Test your SCORM 2004 content on SCORM cloud. If this works it OK, ask that your Dokeos contact what with their LMS when it comes to SCORM 2004.  Not all support LMS SCORM 2004.  But there are a few different editions of SCORM 2004.  Captivate allows you to set up your output for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th edition.  Perhaps Dokeos supports only one of these results.

  • Import of variables in Captivate LMS

    I want to recover the data from the LMS (Moodle) my Captivate class - capture the name of LMS students specifically, and display it in Captivate. I read a previous debate on that, but it ended without a definitive answer, that seemed.

    Looks like that first the SCORM data in the variable must first be passed to a Flash embedded via javascript file and then sent to Captivate of Flash. A suggestion of the post hinted that this could be done without javascript step.

    Anyone successful with this? And with SCORM 1.2 or 2004? I would be very happy to advice if someone has done this...

    Variable SCORM (student's name)-> Javascript-> embedded Flash file-> Captivate displayed in...

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

    Why sure... it works with Flash AS3, CP5.5 and Moodle as the LMS...

    First, I created a small 10 x 10 px, flash file an image to import into Captivate (want to just ACE code to run, its hidden in a black neighborhood of my background in slide 1...)

    In the framework, and then entered this code:

    Get the name of the student of LMS, SCORM

    to import flash.external.ExternalInterface;

    try {}

    Assigns a string name of the LMS student

    var UserName:String is String (ExternalInterface.call("saveglobalscore",score) ('g_objAPI.LMSGetValue', 'cmi.core.student_name'));.

    To separate the first and last name...

    var LastName:String = UserName.slice (0, UserName.indexOf(","));

    var FirstName:String = UserName.slice (Number (UserName.indexOf(",") + 2), UserName.length);

    } catch(err:Error) {}

    trace ("and not in an LMS at the moment");

    }

    Send name to Captivate

    var myRoot:MovieClip = MovieClip (root);

    var mainmov:MovieClip = MovieClip (myRoot.parent.root);

    mainmov. Name = name;

    Then, this flash file on slide 1 of my lesson of Captivate, where I display the first name value I get from Flash. You know, ' welcome, $$FIrstName$ $! Then when I start my lesson in Moodle name appears...

    A nice quirk, it didn't worked at first - it seems that Moodle would begin the lesson of Captivate and the ACE in the Flash file to run at the same time, it would not disconnect the first name. So I put the animation Flash delay.5 seconds in the timeline, so the lesson of Captivate would begin, a short break, then the code YOU run and I got the name. And also, the area of text in Captivate with variable display of $$ $$FirstName must appear after the Flash code received the name of LMS, then I put delay 1 sec on the timeline.

    It was there, I added nothing to the external .js file. Maybe this will help someone! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction...

  • Slide views - LMS records a slide filled without playing all frames on the slide

    Can the ' data report > Slide views "parameter be set to record a slide filled only if the user views all managers on the slide? If so, how do you go? My settings/LMS SCORM course save the slide as complete even if the learner plays only first few slide frames. I use: Captivate 5.5/SCORM 1.2/Oracle LMS (this alo problem exists when I test the SCO on Scormcloud.com)

    Hi Rod,

    After several iterations, I landed on a solution that works.

    • I put the ghosts at the end of the course slides.
    • I disabled the bar of navigation and COT on these blades, so if the user falls on one by using the slider, they can not nav of other slides ghosts.
    • The only way to nav far a ghost slide is via a 'Return to the race' button that delivers them to the last slide, they visited. Slides ghosts being only 1/2 second in the long term, it would be almost impossible to land on each of them (there are 12 all together) by using the slider.
    • If they get to the first slide of ghost by clicking on the button "Forward" of the last legitimate slide in the course, they will be greeted with the same "Back in the race" button without other navigation options.
    • All legitimate slides have now a tip Action that reactivates the TOC and the navigation bar, so if they choose return current, they recover their navigation.

    All this without having to hack the Actionscript code or get fancy with conditional Actions advanced. It adds a level of complexity to the programming of course, but it's better than what I had before - a course with no way to check if the user had seen a slide to the end.

    A bonus of this solution feature is that I can choose which slides the user needs to display at the end, and they don't.

    In any case, thanks for all your advice on that. I hope by documenting the solution, it might be useful to someone other living the same situation.

    See you soon,.

  • With the help of the links related to the Garland in an LMS... Help!

    I worked on a module of training locally on the server of our company. I used the chaining to connect separate projects and it seems to work very well in our workspace. When uploaded to the LMS the Garland does not work. All we see is a gray loading screen as if the module is trying to find the specified project file. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Help, please! Thanks in advance!

    For the output of the LMS, value options end of project module just stop Project, not open URL or file.  Do not use narrow project because it would sometimes make the window of LMS SCORM player to quit smoking.  Project is the best.

    More good LMS have an option called something like Auto continue or reading continues, which means that when a module ends the following in the table of contents is open and read automatically.  Look for this option in your LMS and use it for your daisy chaining effect.

  • Quiz, Test item analysis reports

    I'm looking for more information on what Captivate related information to the LMS about quiz questions.  I understand that each LMS will be a bit different, so I don't have too many details, just some general information.

    What I specifically want to know is if Captivate will report information on what the learner submits a response to the individual elements of quiz.  We want to be able to test analysis elements and, my first step is to understand what Captivate sends before I don't know if our LMS he will perform or not.

    Thank you.

    Jay

    Captivate CAN send this type of information if you have data Interaction enabled in your Quiz > reporting dialog.  But (as you said) whether or not your LMS is capable of giving you reports on this issue is another matter.

    Interaction data which answer option the selected user is not really in a very user friendly format.  If you want to look at these data (buried inside other data sent to the LMS) just download a zip SCORM SCORM cloud, complete the module and then look at the interaction LOG file that SCORM Cloud offers via a hyperlink.  This will give you a good idea of what you will end up having to work with.

  • Captiavte 9, which connects several projects in packaging Multi SCO

    Hey everybody,

    I'm currently trying to connect multiple Captivate projects and then pack them in a single file with the SCO Multi package SCORM. My question is the cross-project link is not working properly. In some cases I will just be with a white screen, other tests he will go to another slide but will not navigate back or I receive an error:

    "An error occurred: Error initializing communication with LMS ". Press 'OK' to display debug information to send to technical support. »

    In order to back up a bit. I use 9 Captivate, publishing each project as SCORM 1.2 package using "Several SCO", to be deployed on Moodle.

    I have 4 folders, the first is the destination page that has 3 buttons that each needs to link to an different captivate project. 3 other projects have a button that connects back to the landing page.

    I played a bit with making the buttons open the project file, or open a url / file. I still don't think they are connect properly.

    I would really appreciate if someone could explain the process of linking projects so the links will always work when they are packed together in a SCORM.

    Thank you very much

    Your problem is related to your attempt to use a menu to launch the other three modules directly. SCORM objects aren't supposed to be connecting directly to each other.  The standard SCORM actually banned him (in theory) stipulating that all SCO should be autonomous.

    Even if your approach MIGHT have worked with a few LMS, with a Multi-SCORM course, your user name is supposed to launch each module using the links provided in the LMS SCORM player.  This will ensure that the LMS is developing good communication with SCO via the JavaScript API of SCORM.

    However, Moodle has a particular way to offer each SCO when called that usually breaks any attempt to do what you're trying to do.  Moodle stores all class files in a directory on the server that is usually NOT able to be bound to directly via an HTTP link or a link.  When your user clicks on a link to HTM file of a module course given, then recovers files and copy them in a temporary Manager on the server so that the learner can display in their browser.  It means that content cannot be binding on toward another brother module because they are all still back in the other folder on the server, not in the same temp folder.
