Water spilled

A few hours ago I unplugged spilled some water on my desktop computer. He fell, and some of them got on the device on my computer. I charge my iPod when it is loaded, so the flap thing that opens has been exposed to water. I quickly removed all the wires ect. and I tried to put my computer to empty the water droplets, with what he could have come into contact. It would be not much, except that I could have sworn I heard a current continuous clicking noise. That's what worries me, and why I need help as soon as POSSIBLE. HP Pavilion a6720f is my model of computer for more details. Will you please help and give me advice and thank you!

Open upward and see if she looks like any water obtained in the case (how he leans, exactly?  On, above, to the side?).  And can you tell if the clicking sound comes from the front USB ports?  How are you computer savy?  Can you disconnect the front USB ports of the motherboard and see if it goes away?

    Hello

The HARD drive slot is not repairable. It s a HARD disk controller and I guess the HARD disk controller is dead.
The HARD disk controller is part of the motherboard and if you want to repair it, so the entire motherboard must be replaced.

  • Satellite MX30: After water spill laptop without the display starts

    Hello

I have a portable mx30 satellite and the problem is at some point, someone had poured a liquid any on the keyboard, I think he could have water.
in any case I noticed that the laptop starts not after that, and yes it was still plugged into the power outlet so im guessing it could cause a short circuit and blew a chip.

I took it apart and noticed that there was a build up of dirt where the spill was of course. So I'm taking a few q-tips wall and carefully cleaned it on using a small amount of contact spray.
I waited several hours to make sure everything was dry and have still no splash screen, because it was not before.

However the laptop turns on and stays on with the power supply (no display) and without battery in. If I put the battery and plug it starts (no display) it remains on during a few seconds then turns off.

I think that the screen could be due to the failure on the system board or the memeory module failure.

    anyone else has any ideas.
    Thank you

I know it isn't going to be very useful for you now, because it looks like it's been a while in this condition. Electronic devices are often more durable than we imagine when they are subjected to the wicked as the water damage. The trick is usually to remove all batteries, unplug the sector, remove as much as possible without breaking, dry as much as you can with a towel (if it was something sticky like coca cola, you can wipe with water cold Kettle), then let all the pieces on the night under a lamp placed at about 12 inches apart. Back, then try it, but ask someone to hold a wooden broom handle to push you away from electricity, so everything passes from kaka.

If you have gunge, there's a chance it's supposed to be there, a sort of dough, and you can not to he will wipe away. If there is no obvious or not obvoius of water, hide between the display cable (which can resemble a 35mm film) try pulling away with toilet paper and very gently clean contacts you will see that surround it.

The other thing you can do is check that no cables are disconnected during disassembly and reassembly. Give all that he received a tugboat then disassemble a push strong but soft back in, or if you can pull things out and push them in all the better. Word stress is SWEET.

Chances are good, that'll cost you money.

  • Computer laptop 15-r055tu: WATER SPILL

    Hello
I accidentally spilled tea on my laptop, more exactly on the keyboard, I immediately turned upside down to prevent water to move further off.
I skipped what could I possibly can and let dry for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. When I turned it on, he replied that although the keyboard worked fine and all the other things. Except that he started locking himself always behave as if I was pressing the power button every 2seconds.
I did a hard reset by removing the battery, then place it in the sum to dry more. Once an hour, I tried again, this time he stayed for about 3 minutes then off until I swith new on. What could be the problem, and he is standing or temporary. Help, please.

    Thank you.

If this is the one you have probably bypassed some key and that is why he thinks that your pressing the keys. Drying of the spills won't fix you need to clean the keyboard itself with alcohol to remove foreign debris that making contact on the keyboard if your keyboard has shorted out and think your pressing keys when you are not. Replacement of the keyboard is a much better way to go the it dry and use a keyboard damaged again. I cleaned my keyboard using rubbing alcohol and a brush brisel fine-toothed but for keyboard that were damaged while he was on the means, we need to replace.

    If a fuse is burnt?

I don't know much about the hardware, but my guess is that there is at least a fuse in my laptop? But where and how to find the fuse? And how do I check if it is burned?

    Hello

Well my friend, I think that in this case you need professional help. At present, no one is able to say what parts are damaged now and need to be replaced.
I guess you need a new mainboard, and perhaps many other parts also.

The best way is to go to a technician for laptop and ask for help. Technicians can check your laptop and determine which parts are damaged.

  • Water spilled on my Satellite A100-680

    Hey!

I have an old (well okay, for me) veeeery Satellite A100-680, it's almost 6 years, and for about a year now it did not work properly. Whenever I look at a video on youtube which is longer than 5 minutes, it crashes.

It's one of the problems - but I accidentally spilled perhaps half a teblespoon CLEAR WATER on the keyboard, and I took out the battery as fast as I could and started wipeing with a tissue.

Then I tried with a blowdrier before I put it in the Sun to dry and now it is completely dry, but the keyboard still does not - I'm writing with another keyboard that I have connected to the laptop. But still, he supported his own letters and for example when I press BACKSPACE it presses ENTER.

The carpet of mouse, or what you call does not work either and when I start the computer it said something about does not connect with the Intel prosessor.

If I ruined my computer for good, or can I do?

To me, it seems that the parts are damaged: keyboard and touchpad.
Maybe the spilled water caused some shortcuts that has damaged the connection between the Council and the parties or parts

Not sure if one only keyboard and touchpad replacement may help you resolve this problem. In the worst case, the motherboard needs to be replaced, but only a technician can provide the answer to this question once the equipment has been tested and verified

  • water spilled on the keyboard

I have a macbook air, about 4 years, OS 10.9.5. I spilled water on the keyboard last night. I have it turned off, it turned on its side and mopped up the water that has flowed to the surface. I thought it would be a good idea to let it all dry for a few days before turning on again. Is there anything else I need to do?

    Hello.

Some suggestions here that I would have this problem.

    1. disconnect the cables around it and disconnect the battery if possible.

    2. the weird towel and fan tour - see link below - can take up to 96 hours

    3. you can stuff the Mac in rice or Silica Gel...

4 bring to the Apple Store for damage diagnosis.

Those who have been the best 4 steps, that I could find.

The towel and fan thing would probably work better, but I've never tried.

It is good that you turned it off immediately, otherwise there will be very little chance to recover it.

If there is no hope on the recovery, she, there at least could be a way to recover his files. You can remove it from his hard drive and take the files out of it.

    I do not know how to perform this process, but I don't know that you need some sort of hard disk drive. I also do not recommend do you it yourself, but if you really want, maybe it's the kind of thing you need. sur-noir http://www.bestbuy.com/site/thermaltake-blacx-hard-drive-enclosure-docking-stati / 9062055.p? id = 1219699418029 & skuId = 9062055 & Ref = 06 & loc = 01 & ci_src = 14110944 & ci_sku = 9062055 & extensionType = pla_multichannel:g, & s_kwcid = PTC! pla! 127785011599! g! 93427450999 & kpid = 9062055 & k_clickid = 27a17115-1578-0e68-4b46-000019524ba4 & lsft = r ef: 212, loc:1 & ksid = 27a17115-1578-0e68-4b46-000019524ba4 & ksprof_id = 8 & ksaffcode = 4114 pg1 & ksdevice = c

  • How to test water damage/spill? Minor IdeaPad Z510 water spill

Hi all! I am a new Member, so please do not hesitate to correct and inform me of the mistakes that I can do on these forums!

Today, the water was accidentally reversed on my keyboard and trackpad. It wasn't a lot of water but not bad. Water is set on the keyboard for maybe 5 seconds until I could wipe it (following a shock what to do). The water does not go through the keys at all. I immediately turned off the computer after it.

My question is, now I'm on the laptop, all the keys and everything work properly, I don't notice any significant change in processing speed and all the ports work. How would check any damage of the waters of the oil spill? I've had this laptop ~ two months ago and certainly wouldn't return now since I have a lot work in progress. It is useful to send, how long still will take, it will be under warranty, if not how much will it cost?

Thank you for anyone who reads this, or even attempts to answer one of my questions! This community of love!

Am I in your shoes I would be first turns upside down the unit so that the KB's down. I would then blow hot air in the keys remotely using a hair blower/dryer. After that I will begin to open the unit to check further for everything SIP of water by. Blow the additional hot air to ensure that everything is dried up. After that, I'd start checking the AC adapter and the battery according to the recommended procedure in the hardware Maintenance Manual.

  • 4 keys does not work after water spilled on Presario CQ61-313US

After that a small amount of water is spilled on the keyboard Presario CQ61-313US 3 keys, E, D and C don't work at all.  Tried spraying with air; no luck.  Tried a shot of cleaning electronic; It still does not.  I'm careful to try any more electronic vacuum, as it can dissolve the plastic.  I found the manual online at the removal of the keyboard but... is this really the only solution?

Unfortunately Yes, he must disassemble the keyboard, let it dry or clean out then he try again. No software or drivers can help. I'm sorry.

Your computer is still under warranty? you have this protection against accidental damage? Chances are you have to pay for the service and which is about $400. Do it yourself and at the end of the day, maybe buy a replacement keyboard at a lower price.

  • Satellite Pro A40 does not start after water spilled on it

    Hello

I have a problem with the laptop of my companion. After she pours water on her, she has stopped working (no surprise really lol). I took it to pieces, right down to remove the motherboard to try to find the fault. Now when the AC is connected and batt is in place, NIP of the led, same thing happens without batt.

BUT the computer does not light when you press the power button. Im guessing that it is a hardware failure, since water isn't really best friend elecrtics, but I was hoping someone else might have other ideas/solutions?

I searched the toshiba site and found nothing on this laptop.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hello Danny

You are absolutely right. It's probably hardware failure and I fear that the motherboard must be replaced. I recommend you contact Toshiba service partners in your country and look for info on the repair and costs.

    Good luck!

  • Qosmio F60 water spilled

    Hello.

Some water themselves are spread on one of these and after I opened it to dry, I tested to see if it worked, but what happens is that the power light flashes once or twice, and I've decoded the error to "blood S3V is under 3.14V or less when the computer starts up.» The adapter is ok I tested it already then, it means that I have Norman a new Council of law? But where can I buy one?

    Hey Buddy

You can buy all the parts of a local ASP of Toshiba laptop
Here you will find a list of all FSA worldwide:

But a new motherboard is an expensive part, so a replacement would not be a case good cheap... you know...

  • Equium M50-164 does not work after the spill of water

I bought a laptop Toshiba Equium M50-164 last year.
I paid a lot of money, now it does not work.
I can't afford to write that he took so therefore must operate.

The reason why it does not work is the water spilled on it.

I took it to a specialist. I found in the repertoire of Thompson, I paid him £50 and he siad he probably one
new motherboard and so not worth repairing as it comes to Toshiba and their parts are expensive etc...
    Is this fair?

I'm desperate to fix but don't know how.

Help, please. Without doubt, I should be able to buy a motherboard for the laptop without costing an arm or a leg.

    Hello

As you probably know that the laptop parts are not cheap because of miniaturization and mobility.
The LCD screen and the motherboard are the more expensive parts that are used in the laptop. I na? not know if Toshiba parts are more expensive. I guess it depends on the features of the laptop.

However, the new motherboard is very expensive and I think that the search for unity of second hand with the motherboard isn't a bad idea.
CA? s your choice. New motherboard = expensive but with card guarantee or second hand mother = cheaper, but no guarantee

PS: the replacement of the motherboard is not very easy and that's why if you have no experience you should ask a technician for help.
