  I'm not sure if this is a problem of setting (path) at all. I've seen a lot of different "correctness" and recommendation in this regard - taste too for my personal use... and non of them changed the game well.

  I had really any problems.

  The client computer, installed 11.1.1.9 OBIEE administration tool.

  An Essbase installed 11.1.2.4 customer, I installed this version as it corresponds to OBIEE 11.1.1.9 as who uses 11.1.2.4 drivers.

  Update bi_init.bat to include the ESSBASEPATH variable and adds the path to the variable ESSBASEPATH\bin

  

  Open the online administration tool, import

  

  Tested the connection to two 11.1.2.3.506 and 11.1.2.4 Essbase

  

  Imported fine.

• Looking for a free tool allowing clients to easily update a text box on their Web site.

  I just finished a website for a client, and I am looking for a free tool (something similar to Wordpress) which would leave my client to easily change the text on the site.  I don't want to have full access to the code on the site, just include a text box that they can make changes every time that the envy.  I'd rather have something that was transparency it so the text would look just like the rest of the site, but is not a must.

• When to use ProvisionUsers.cmd vs CubeRefresh.cmd user filter Refresh for Essbase

  There are times when we add a new dimension to the Version of our planning application and apply security to this new version.  This happens in the middle of the day when users can be connected to the planning of an application, or possibly using SmartView.  We do an update of the database to synchronize the outline for Essbase, which takes a few minutes to process.  However, when refresh us user planning security we had questions for the security update complete.  Sometimes we kill the process, after that it ran for 45 minutes to an hour and ends.  Do not know what is causing this problem if it is related to the users are logged on via SmartView or not (any way to control this process?).

  Also, several security changes happens through shared Services as users change from groups or need extra or the removal of security on a basis continues.  We have a very stable process that morning of evry of tracks (01:00) which takes about 15 minutes to update security for planning applications six planning to Essbase by using the 'CubeRefresh.cmd' utility with the "/ F" filter option. This script running even in the middle of the day hangs up sometimes when we try to update to the application that have changed the dimension.  I came across the "ProvisionUsers.cmd" utility of planning.  I understand that the CubeRefresh.cmd is used to update the database as security filters.  I was wondering for the synchronization of security filter is more effective or safer run the 'ProvisionUsers.cmd' rather than the cuberefresh.cm?  What is the advantage of using one against the other?

  We are on Hyperion essbase/planning version 11.1.2.1.

  I suggest to keep the planning application owner or administrator of the application access control... in order to avoid any connection of the user on the planning in this activity...

  Also, I like Vincent solution to clear all sessions of the user part and a disconnection essbase before refresh security running.

  In addition, Cuberefresh.cmd - just refresh the security

  ProvisionUser.cmd - Re-sync safety from scratch through shared Services (advantage: obsolete user entry will be deleted from the repository of planning, which inturn improving the refreshment of security planning execution time).

• Smart View for Essbase unavailable in rapid deployment planning

  I managed to deploy EMP 11.1.2.3 by following the steps in the deployment planning guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/epm_planning_rapid_deploy/epm_planning_rapid_deploy.html). However, when I do the Smart View by using a URL of shared connections to http://< servername >: 9000/area of work/SmartViewProviders, I only get the connections for the planning and of the declaration and framework. How an I get a connection for Essbase?

  It turns out that 11.1.2.3 rapid deployment planning wizard does not install Essbase service provider, just planning service provider and Reporting and analysis of service provider. Until that I installed Essbase service provider, I wasn't yet able to create a private to Essbase connection. I had to run InstallTool.cmd and select "Provider of Services Web Application" in the Essbase selection screen section. I also had to run the configuration utility and select "Deploy to the application server" under "Service provider" in the Essbase selection screen section.

  After that, I was able to create a connection in Essbase with this URL: http://: 9000/aps/APS

  Even though the private connection was working now, the Essbase connection was still does not like a shared connection in Excel, when I put the Excel Smart View option for shared connections URL http://: 9000/area of work/SmartViewProviders. I could get this job to rerun the configuration utility and selecting "Configure the Web server" in the section "Hyperion Foundation" of the selection screen.

  I was also able to create an XML file as Celvin suggested using http://: 9000/aps/APS for connecting to Essbase. Thanks for the suggestion!

• Do I have to have a link for each entry in my Navigation SpryMenu?

  Sorry, I don't know the answer to that is very simple, but I can't seem to find the answer.

  I built my first website using a bar of naviation menu spry with three levels of hierarchy. For some the first levels, there no pages with content, I just open the sublevels where my users can select pages with content.

  If I try and remove the links to those pages that are just there to give the structure of the menu, but do not have the pages with content, a dialog box appears asking me to type in the link for this entry. Each entry must have a link - this seems heavy and I don't know it isn't normal, but I can't find the way around it.

  "livestock exchange" links point to the three sub menu menu items 'sale', 'wanted' and 'ready' but doesn't have a page of its own. How can - I stop it forcing me to link them to an intermediate page that I don't need, and that visitors to my site might accidentally end up on?

  Hope this makes a sort of sense and soemone there can answer this question that it is causing me a huge irritation at the minute.

  But before you go and to do this, examine the touchscreen devices.  It's really good to have a page link on the first level of menu, just in case your submenus are not displayed.

  The consultant have implemented a process planned, which automatically retrieves the EAL data for transport.

  But I did not understand everything. :-(

  How can I communicate with eal automatically without using the Essbase administration console?

  I am looking something like maxl, which I use for Essbase.

  I want to stop and start the bridge by script (like on my screenshot).

  Anyone has any experience with EAL?
