webcam laser power

Hello

It would be great if someone could help me with the following problem:

I have a Logitech webcam. I use NI Vision Acquisition with Labview software to communicate with the webcam via USB. I break the images and convert them to grayscale. Can I image in table and sum on all elements in the array to get the value of the total intensity of all pixels in the image grid. This is a while loop so that I can get this value as the video and the image of the webcam.  The frequency of images for the striking image is 30.0 fps. The value data are plotted over time in a chart.

Now, if I cover the lens of the webcam (essentially no incident light on the subject) I expect the values of pixels down (more black = total value down) but rather the pace slows down to 6-7 fps. Can someone tell me why this is happening?

the ultimate goal of the project was to aim the webcam to a laser beam out a spitter cube of mounting beam confocal microscopy and measure its power to help focus the lens of the microscope. the sum of value of pixel in the vi would work as built-in power. as food is varied, I would ideally expect the total value of reduce, not cadence.

Can someone help me with this please?

I have attached the vi.

Help is urgently required.

Thank you very much.

For a long time I played around with a camera, but it seems to me that you have the camera still on auto settings.

If you just put the light/contrast settings to a fixed value, I would expect this problem have disappeared. Perhaps an "auto" setting more turn off?

My laptop is a Satellite A500 and I had for about a year and a half, he has never dropped or slammed, and up to this point, it worked correctly, most of the time.

One night, I unplugged and turned it off and the next morning, the display would not work. There was no flicker and the display had never before gone so far here. Curiously, some of the LEDs on the laptop keyboard area stopped work as well, such as the light touch pad, the volume key, etc..
However, the webcam and power/network lights still work. In addition to these problems, everything still works and I can still use an external monitor, such as a monitor.

Based on these details, does anyone have an idea as to what is the problem? Or how I should go about fixing it?

If there is no reaction on the screen there must be a problem with the LCD connection to the motherboard.

Without accurate diagnosis, it is not easy to say exactly, what may be defective. Fact is that all these symptoms say there must be a hardware problem and you should clear it with Toshiba service.

    Hello

The "power calibration error" message is a problem that occurs with the more recent writers as older. These means of error message that the CD/DVD writer cannot write in the blank CD/DVD because it can t match the output power of the laser power to write CD/DVD.

    Hello

The "power calibration error" message is a problem that occurs with the latest as older CD burners. These means of error message that the CD burner cannot write in the blank CD - R, as it can t match the output power of the laser power to write the CD - R. This can have various causes.

You can try reinstalling the burning program.
If you use the Nero Burning ROM of Ahead then the first thing to do is to try to update the ASPI driver This driver is the link between the software and hardware of a CD writer. Google, a little bit on the internet and you can download the driver ASPI try also Nero and research's official website for driver ASPI It must be there for free for download.
Many manufacturers include identification of the different CD - r codes in the software in the CD burner. By these codes the CD writer can determine the maximum speed of writing to CD - R and adapt the necessary laser power. As the codes of identification on the CD - r can change and the engraver can t know anyway latest brands of CD - R, this can be a cause for the "power calibration error".

Update the firmware of the CD writer can be the solution in this case. Manufacturers usually offer these updates on their Web sites. You may also find additional tools that might be needed for the update, but also manuals on how to upgrade the firmware.
It is also possible that the laser unit has become dirty dust over time.

I hope these suggestions help you solve your problem.

    Good luck!

  • Update of Variables between two loops

    Hi all

I use LabView to work and did not have formal training in it, so I'm learning I'll. The problem I'm having is LabView won't let you pass variables from one loop to the other let say update the entry, my understanding is probably wrong. In the code shown below, I need to be able to update the entry for the cycle of use based on the measured laser power. This program is ideally year a CO2 laser for any desired power by adjusting the cycle until the electricity meter is +-1 watt of power you want to be. This duty cycle can be used as input into another program to run the laser at a specific energy. Currently on duty cycle block diagram will adjust but its not really the entrance of the device changes. This is my LabView knowledge to short.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you!

  • Item resets to zero after Sup vi works

    Hi all

I want to use the following code to slowly and continually increase their laser power. The sub vi called scan is the rise, but after there ramp all the say up to the power game, it resets to zero. I spent some time trying to understand how the variable element, the value of the desired final after the rise to power power is finished, but I can't find a way that works. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions!

    Thank you

There's your problem, at least the one causing your fall: will continue to set up your index with each iteration entry, but your table within the VI is not so great. Once the index exceeds the size of the table and try to index beyond the end will come out so the default value of zero. To resolve this issue, do you get a Select node that is controlled by your x = y? Boolean result. If True, the "Stop" input value and ignore the indexed value.

WARNING: This should solve your immediate problem you may have, but in general your code will have likely other issues. There are more effective ways of the ramp of a signal.

  • Activating/Deactivating the program to sort data during the acquisition sets

    Hello

I have a pledge Board of two channels that I use for recording analog signal flight time. I already have a program that records the signal and it is average, but I'm about to do my laser and a new experience that turns my detector at 40 Hz to 20 Hz. With this info, here is what I do:

    1. I need to record the signal of the FTT, as usual, however, I need to make a distinction between my data and my laser data.

One idea I had is to somehow trigger the program after the initial outbreak, to indicate if the laser is enabled or disabled. Then, I could use a deal to build two data tables.

A second idea is to use a loop for. Because a rep rate is two times more than the other, I can simply add the data of all the iterations, even to an array and the odd data to another. However, with this I have no idea what table contains the laser power data.

The overall program removes subtables of the laser and laser data to make a substantive correction in real time. The idea is similar to a detector lock-in-amplify or sensitive to the phase except that I will subtract the phase signal output. Right now, I just need to make the distinction between the two types of incoming data sets.

    Thanks in advance

  • The CVI code search contact Ophir USBI device

I'm hoping to find someone who has used the device of Ophir USB Smart head Interface (USBI).

I'm under CVI 9.0 and I am very confused about How to talk directly to the device.  The USB device connects to a laser power meter head.  Ophir has LabView drivers, but not of CVI.  There is an ActiveX configuration, but almost no documentation on how to set it up properly.

IF someone has used this device sucessfully in CVI, I'd be very eager to talk with them.  I can provide the code for NI-VISA, I tried (and used similar code successfully in the past) and the ActiveX driver calls that can be particularly in CVI.

Thanks in advance for any response.

    Thank you once again StevieZ...

I was finally able to force a code of Ophir example... In fact, their designers of s/w in Israel.  It took a day to get it converted to work within my GUI, but it works now.  They gave examples of ActiveX that are not all NI-VISA.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • T61 Matshta Multi DVD

The Matshta Multi DVD in my T61 won't recognize blank or burned media. He acknowledges not burned media, such as the installation discs for Windows Vista and PC games, but nothing else.
Can I personally do to solve this problem, or I have to buy a new DVD player?

your laser reader has aged, it can produce is no longer enough laser power to read these blank and burned media because of the superior power of the laser as it requires compared to media not burned.

  • A laser printer can be plugged into a power strip?

A laser printer can be plugged into a power strip?

    Here's the question.

A typical wall outlet is rated at 15 watts max, but you should only put about 80 percent of this amount on the circuit as a constant pull then 12-13 watts is the actual amount of the charge, you will place it on one shot. You might get an occasional brief increased load when a device such as a printer laser heated.

Laser printers pull a lot of power when the fuser unit, heating, so you should gave them a plug dedicated to the extent possible.

If you put a printer into a power strip, then the band must be plugged into a wall outlet and the printer should be the only thing plugged into the power strip.

End check model of your laser printer and find the data sheet and see how much current it draws pulling maximum amount, if it is 12 or 13 amp, then you really should have a dedicated socket or a power strip plugged into the Jack with nothing else on this subject.
