WebLogic Cluster problem

All hell

I am trying to troubleshoot a weblogic clustering issue and am hoping that I get help here.

Basically, I have properly configured a cluster between 2 managed server nodes. After you have configured node 1, I used the pack/unpack to build node 2. The combination seems to work and I'm able to start two managed servers. However the deployments fail on node 2 and succeed on node 1

The error is due to a missing class file. WebLogic is able to locate this class on node 1, but for node 2, it returns an error "class not found". The jar file exist on both nodes at the same place

After further investigation, I noticed that there is a difference between how node 1 and node 2 are started i.e. different class paths. The node Manager allows us to launch the two servers.

How can I make sure that the Manager of the nodes on both nodes use the same startup for the respective nodes script so that class paths are the same

Thank you

Shiva

I was able to understand the question. StartScriptEnabled = true on node 2, fixed the problem. Nodemanager using scripts separated on both nodes that was causing the server to be different properties
StartScriptEnabled = real forces NodeManager to use the script startManagedWeblogic on both nodes

    Is it possible that I can start my server managed by Admin? If Yes, what are the steps I have to do to make it viable.

    In addition, which is just how to configure the node Manager autostart administrator and Manager on the same host and server with the single domain.

    NodeManager cannot start Admin and the managed server automatically when you gracefully stop the managed server.

    Recovery setting enabled the crash work in case of a sudden collapse of the host itself. This does not mean that NodeManager servers will automatically start every time. Crash Recovery also works for servers that are started by using Nodemanager only.

    For:

    Error: Exception thrown by the agent: java.rmi.server.ExportException: Port already used: 9899; nested exception is:

    exception java.net.BindException: address already in use

    As says error itself port is already in use. Be sure to use the single port and also check if a process taking into this port.

    See you soon,.

  • Doubts about Weblogic Cluster and application deployment

    Hi all

    WebLogic...: 12.1.2

    ... OS: AIX 7.1

    We intend to create a Weblogic cluster at 2 knots in different sites to comply with the requirements of the customer HA. With this in mind im a few doubts began to rise:

    (1) this solution will have a server in site A Weblogic and an another Weblogic Server on site B, and we will create a Weblogic cluster with these 2 servers. It is equivalent to an Oracle extended RAC, but with Weblogic. Our link between sites is extremely fast, dedicated, with a latency of less than 5 ms. Is it possible and cost-effective to build such a solution?

    (2) regarding the deployment of the application, I would like to know if it is possible to deploy an application on Weblogic Server just on node A, and this application is automatically replicated on the Weblogic Server in site B? As far as I know, I have to deploy the application on both Weblogic servers manually.

    Thanks for the patience and attention.

    Yes: is very easy to configure the (much easier than configuring PAP) weblogic server cluster.

    You can deploy your application on weblogic cluster: his will be automatically deployed to all members of the cluster (all managed servers)

  • Help on consistency + Weblogic Cluster configuration

    Hello

    I am new to consistency. I explore the consistency to fill one of my condition.

    My needs: I have an application deployed on a clustered server logical Web environment. I need to cache data specific to the application (java card) and that should be available to all nodes in the cluster WLS. Application that are cached, data can be updated from any of the node in the cluster WLS and updated the application cache data should be available for all the nodes in the cluster WLS. The nodes in the cluster of WLS resides in different machines from different places.

    Can I use coherence as a services of caching for my requirement?

    If Yes, do I need to start a server cache consistency on each node of the cluster WLS?

    If so, do I need to specially configure these servers cache, so that these cache servers would communicate each other in case of updates of data in the cache?

    It will be very helpful if you could also provide sample configurations to achieve the above scenarios.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards
    Srinivas M

    You can start a cache server in the network by using for example

    # home directory
    BEA_HOME="/home/oracle/bea"
    export BEA_HOME
    # java vendor (for example Oracle or Sun)
    JAVA_VENDOR="Oracle"
    export JAVA_VENDOR
    # cache server klasse
    CACHE_SERVER_CLASS="com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer"
    export CACHE_SERVER_CLASS
    # coherence options
    COHERENCE_OPTIONS="-Dtangosol.coherence.management=all"
    export COHERENCE_OPTIONS
    COHERENCE_OPTIONS="${COHERENCE_OPTIONS} -Dtangosol.coherence.management.remote=true"
    #COHERENCE_OPTIONS="${COHERENCE_OPTIONS} -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=WEB-INF/classes/session-cache-config.xml"
    #COHERENCE_OPTIONS="${COHERENCE_OPTIONS} -Dtangosol.coherence.session.localstorage=true"

    WL_HOME="${BEA_HOME}/wlserver_10.3"
    export WL_HOME
    BEA_JAVA_HOME="${BEA_HOME}/jrockit_160_05_R27.6.2-20"
    export BEA_JAVA_HOME
    SUN_JAVA_HOME="${BEA_HOME}/jdk160_11"
    export SUN_JAVA_HOME

    if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Oracle" ]; then
         JAVA_HOME="${BEA_JAVA_HOME}"
         export JAVA_HOME
         MEM_ARGS="-jrockit -Xms512m -Xmx512m -Xss128k -Xgcprio:throughput"
         export MEM_ARGS
    fi

    if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Sun" ]; then
         JAVA_HOME="${SUN_JAVA_HOME}"
         export JAVA_HOME
         MEM_ARGS="-server -Xmx512m -Xms512m -Xmn256m -Xss128k -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:ParallelGCThreads=2 -XX:+UseParallelOldGC -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+UseBiasedLocking"
         export MEM_ARGS
    fi

    # classpath for the cache server
    CLASSPATH="${WL_HOME}/coherence/coherence.jar"
    export CLASSPATH

    # start the cache server
    ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java ${MEM_ARGS} ${COHERENCE_OPTIONS} ${CACHE_SERVER_CLASS}

    -Dtangosol.coherence.management = all option gives made you some useful information about what the cache by using for example the browser mbean provided by jconsole or jrockit mission control.

    You can create an application in which you create a cache, below is an example of a servlet

    import com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory;
    import com.tangosol.net.NamedCache;

    import javax.servlet.ServletException;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.Random;

    public class TestServlet extends HttpServlet {

        private NamedCache movies;

        public void init() throws ServletException {
            movies = CacheFactory.getCache("repl-movies");
            movies.put(10, new Movie(10, "Rear Window", "Alfred Hitchcock"));
            movies.put(20, new Movie(20, "Vertigo", "Alfred Hitchcock"));
            movies.put(30, new Movie(30, "Double Indemnity", "Billy Wilder"));
            movies.put(40, new Movie(40, "Touch of Evil", "Orson Welles"));
        }

        protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
            Integer[] integers = {10, 20, 30, 40};
            Random random = new Random();
            while (true) {
                movies.get(integers[random.nextInt(4)]);
            }
        }
    }

    Package the servlet into such a WAR file and deploy it in a WebLogic cluster configured.

    By accessing the servlet on the different nodes in the cluster a new cache is created and added to the
    already running DefaultServer.

    The most difficult part is to configure your cache. As you can see in servlet initialization we EU something like CacheFactory.getCache ("repl-movies");
    Lack of consistency with some configurations of cache example that are contained in the coherence.jar (coherence-cache-config. (XML).
    The following entry is used

          repl-*
          example-replicated

          example-replicated
          ReplicatedCache

              unlimited-backing-map

          true

    A replicated cache is probably what you need as well. You like all the data available on all nodes. If you want to use
    your own cache configuration, you can add the option - Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig (see the for the default server startup script)

    A good introduction on coherence can be found here:

  • InitialContext takes always 5 seconds on a WebLogic Cluster

    Hello

    I want to create a context on a cluster to find an EJB with JNDI. It works well but it always take 5 seconds, when I put 1 servers managed down, it will take even longer.
    When I do not use a cluster, it is really fast.

    Also, I have already changed the algorithm of cluster. but no change in performance.

    How can I speed up this initialContext.

    In this reference http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/lookup.html, there is a section
    on improving search performance. The main reason to mention is: the source of the problem is the way in which host names and IP addresses are resolved

    You are probably using wlfullclient.jar. In previous tests, I used the wlclient.jar, when I run the test using the wlfullclient.jar I get the following
    results (which is in accordance with your results):

    initialcontext creation time 5

    Unlike the use of the wlclient.jar, the wlfullclient.jar uses ClusterableRemoteRef objects instead of the IOR objects. It's just a hunch, but
    I think that the call to intialcontext is to create the necessary makings rmi, which is also created when search you for objects (and this for each)
    different object which is quite expensive). For example, you can create the context as a singleton,

    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import java.util.Hashtable;

    public class LookUP {
        private static Context context;

        private LookUP() {
        }

        static {
            Hashtable hashtable = new Hashtable();
            hashtable.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
            hashtable.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://172.31.0.107:7002,172.31.0.107:7003");
            //hashtable.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "weblogic");
            //hashtable.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "transfer11g");

            long begin = System.currentTimeMillis();
            try {
                context = new InitialContext(hashtable);
            } catch (NamingException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            }
            long end = System.currentTimeMillis();
            long timeseconds = (end - begin) / 1000;
            System.out.println("initialcontext creation time " + timeseconds);
        }

        public static Context getContext() {
            return context;
        }
    }

    Now you can refer to it as follows:

    try {
        LookUP.getContext().lookup("ejb/Videotheek#model.logic.Videotheek");
    } catch (NamingException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

  • WebLogic myrealm: problem with AD provider

    Hi all.

    I'm having a problem were the users are unable to loggin in our Webcenter portal (we did a Custom Porta) 11.1.1.6)). The connection of the ADF is enabled with (jazn-data) forms-based authentication

    I now have a number of six users with this problem. Two of them, never recorded in the prior application and the application has no restrictions for it. For the other four, the problem started when they changed their Windows password reset password (ctrl + alt + delete). Verification in LDAP, the password is updated.

    The configuration of my provider is to 'work', I see all these six problem users like everyone else in our society and all the ad groups when I search for them in the tab "Users and groups" in the Weblogic Console myrealm tab. Configuration is marked with SUFFICIENT and the provider is the first on the list.

    When you enable the ATN - DebugSecurityAtn, I found this track:

    getDNForUser search ["OU = xxx, OU = xxx, DC = xxxx, DC = xxx", "(& (& sAMAccountName = xxx)(objectclass=user)) (!) '] ' (() userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803: = 2))).

    That goes right to the place and I have the dn for the user:

    "DN user xxxx: .

    CN = xxxx, unit of ORGANIZATION = xxxx...»

    But also, for some reason, I'm having a 'NTDS LDAP abortion"with"authentication failed 49.

    So I did some digging for the LDAP 49 error code and I got some info on these links:

    IBM data codes associated to ' LDAP: error code 49' with Microsoft Active Directory - United States

    http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=LDAP_Error_Codes#GSC.tab=0

    http://ldapwiki.Willeke.com/wiki/common%20Active%20Directory%20Bind%20Errors

    The problem is that ahe's the user are valid and active, the password has not expired, the account is not disabled, the account has not expired, that the user can open a session in another applications in our company that uses the same ad for the connection, as they can connect to Windows normally, change his password and etc...

    I spoke with some users, and we are trying to change their password, the service of unlocking the "Security-> unlock users" of Weblogic Console, but all without success. With the new password they have logged in all other applications without problem.

    Any suggestions? This is happenning to our WebCenter application only

    Is it possible that Weblogic maintains a cache for the user name and password?

    Thank you.

    PS: (! (userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)) -> user activated ))

    Hello there Mohab.Elsayed, sorry for my delay here.

    Well, after all, the effort involved on this, I could still not point the source of the problem.

    The good news is that we forced all the problems users to change their password at the next logon, and they were able to connect to the application once more. As I am not the cause with the announcement of the way I am with Weblogic and ADF here, I can't play with AD, so I can't tell you guys for sure what is happening.

    Try to see the news that we got to solve the problem:

    1. What we have heard from users, the problem started when they changed their passwords with the support (call Service Desk);
    2. Since my first post, we has been specifically research related LDAP 'Error Code 49'. Which was not bad, but still far apart as the given URL pointing us to a lot of possibilities.
    3. Us have poisoned a bit more and discovered that in fact the "Error Code 49" seen in Weblogic logs was directly linked to a code Weblogic error and not an AD Code error. With a "[Security: 090302] authentication failed: User xxxx has denied"
    4. The given Code 49 error was on the credentials of bad / wrong password;
    5. With a "test and strategic mistake", as the configuration of our Weblogic was 100% correct, we reported on the AD users to change his password the next logon;
    6. When users logged in Windows for the first time after that the flag is set, they were asked to change their password;
    7. After changing the password via the Windows journal, they managed to connect in our application.

    For some reason any, that I can't say, it seems that Windows was able to refresh our Env AD with the new user password. 1. Point, does not have things very clear, that otherwise the whole society would be unable to connect whenever users forget their password.

    Thanks for the support guys came with a lot of useful content!

    Currently, it is a manual activity by following - to connect to the console of the server admin-> go to Clusters-> choose Cluster-> restart all the cases one by one.

    We have 8 instances and 4 application servers [1:2 ratio], each application server succeeded the server node, which is responsible for 2 instances

    As far as I know, we can start/deploy applications through deployment using WLST/weblogic. The Deployment Manager

    Please can you suggest a UNIX utility by which we can restart the weblogic directly from unix/linux server cluster instances.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    You can use WLST to the power via the script Manager node as you do it manually it forms the console. You can start the entire cluster at the same time:

    Start ('CLUSTER1', 'Cluster');

    or server by server:

    Start ('C1_MAN_01', 'Server');

    Start ('C1_MAN_01', 'Server');

    A complete script should connect to the AdminServer first:

    Connect('weblogic','password123','t3://localhost:7001');

    Start ('Cluster_Name', 'Cluster');

    Exit();

    If you need start the AdminServer as well, you can connect directly to the NodeManager and start it in nmStart.

    To stop the server/cluster, you can use the command "shutdown":

    stop ('SOACluster', 'Clusters', force = 'true');   -Add strength = "true" setting so that you do not wait for the present session of the user on this server.

    Or you can get the current status via command line:

    State ('SOACluster', 'Cluster');

    Once the sequence of commands you want in your WLST script, you can call it UNIX script as below:

    . /U01/Oracle/MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/Server/bin/setWLSEnv.sh

    Java weblogic. WLST /u01/oracle/MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/server/bin/startDomainScript.jy

  • Mapping of LUNS ESX - id scsi is not consistent across the cluster - problem or not?

    Hello

    as a parenthesis in an associated storage workshop, the instructor said that on some site of the client, there was silence damaged metadata vmfs happening and the reason for it was locking issues that concerned the fact that the SAN LUNS Hat different scsi id on different Cluster nodes.

    I asked for references for this, but I got information on the verification of metadata etc.

    now, the reason why I'm asking here is, I found that some in our environment vmfs data warehouses do not have compatible scsi-id numbering on the Cluster. I thought it was just mostly a cosmetic problem...

    Two questions:

    1 are warehouses of VMFS data really at risk with this? Any reference to a KB or some experience on site? We have never had a problem with the warehouses of data so far.

    2. about the setting of this (we do it anyway), which is the recommended best practices to do?  Shouldn't a data store with a different ID Scsi remapping result in the data store that is detected as a snapshot?  Think we need to do some additional precautionary measures to avoid what is happening

    Thank you!

    Take a look at this article for possible problems: VMware KB: can not see some or all VMware vCenter Server or VirtualCenter storage devices

    A requirement is to have uniform or a coherent presentation of the LUNS across managed VMware ESX servers. More specifically, must match the LUN ID for each respective LUN between all of the VMware ESX servers.

  • Planning Via Weblogic cluster for load balancing

    We evolve our 11.1.2.2 Planning application on two physical servers as described in the documentation for EPM and the Weblogic console sees the valid cluster.

    Each server is used when it is not working, but how we can demonstrate that the two servers are certainly all load balancing when you use forms, business rules, and indeed any other thing.

    JConsole is a rudimentary indicator as to load the JAVA virtual machine and looking at newspaper planning could help if you know what to look for, but I would really like to know the details of a person who has perhaps done this before or who can guide me on the relevant documentation.

    The Oracle documentation, I found so far seems to take you far and then you drops.

    We are a site of Unix and are currently using a web server HTTP Oracle

    Thank you

    You can use Enterprise manager to monitor sessions between managed servers or the monitoring tool for apache (which is essentially what SST is running).

    See you soon

  • WebLogic cluster steps

    Hi everyone, I am new to weblogic so I need your help to know every steps involved in setting up the weblogic on two different boxes and cluster it finally this group should be a load balanced with apache server.

    I would like to explain a bit more on the infrastructure that I want to have.

    (1) two weblogic servers running on two different machines (on the Linux machine).

    (2) I'll have apache in a single server.

    (3) each weblogic will have its own adminserver.

    (4) the weblgic servers will be connected to the same DB

    (5) client will connect to the Loadbalancer which is Server apache (on the windows box).

    (6) server Apache is to balance requests from customers between the two servers, weblogic.

    (7) I have weblogic12c installed on the servers.

    Please let me know if all the info you need of clarification.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Field integrated Weblogic JDeveloper problem.

    Hi, we have recently installed Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 and we have a problem running the integrated weblogic instance... When we run the start an integrated weblogic instance, errors appear below... any idea?

    [Waiting for the field to complete the construction...]
    [15: 53:29] Creation of integrated Weblogic domain...
    [15: 53:46] ERROR: an error occurred by building the default domain.
    Please see the log file for more details:
    C:\CSS201\workspace\system11.1.1.5.37.60.13\o.J2EE.adrs\CreateDefaultDomain.log
    The Server Instance cannot start because the integrated Weblogic domain has not been built successfully.

    I have searched through this forum and found several issues the same as mine, I tried their solution but no luck for me.
    I did remove the "system11.1.1.5.37.60.13" folder and restart the integrated server but are still unable to run...
    Is all their tips to consider? Environment variables? etc? Thank you...

    Do you think I should Jdev to uninstall and reinstall?

    The integrated weblogic server should work even if I do not have any application developed, right?

    Thank you!

  • Cannot replicate session on weblogic cluster

    Hi all

    I try to simulate cluster weblogic on a single machine. But why my weblogic installation can not replicate the session to another server? I'm trying to listen to HttpSessionListener for any event (session create or destroy), but only one server to deal with this application for handling and create the session. the other doesn't. where is my wrong setting?

    and when I try to access Internet without session, the server is reactivated to manage demand. but when the session, have already asked will stick only to a server for each session, I try to use weblogic 9 and 10.3. the two behavior is the same.

    Here is my setup of weblogic:

    Manage the server:

    1 address (localhost:7004); name (ms1); machine (mcn1)
    2. address (localhost:7005); name (ms2); machine (mcn1)

    each session on the managed server object is serializable.

    and on each server to manage weblogic.xml:

    < wls:session - descriptor >
    < wls:debug - active > true < / wls:debug - active >
    < wls: persistent-store-type > back < / wls: persistent-store-type >
    < wls: sharing > true < / wls: sharing enabled >
    < / wls:session - descriptor >

    Cluster: Cluster mode messaging is multicast. I try MulticastTest and its working fine.

    Load Balancing: I create the new domain (localhost:7002) and use the weblogic proxy for load balancing. just copy paste documentation.

    The webserver plugin using the link session (or sessions).

    How does him choice of server is explained in the figure presented here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/plugins/apache.html#wp113659

    Here you can see if a sessionid is presented that it routes the request to the primairy server. A server primairy and secondairy is chosen in the cluster on a first request.
    The format of the session ID is: JSESSIONID = SESSION_ID. PRIMARY_JVMID_HASH! SECONDARY_JVM_HASH! CREATION_TIME. The first part is used by the
    implementation session in WebLogic Server to search the customer HttpSession object in the context of tracking web application. Subsequent parts of the session ID
    are used to identify the primary and secondary servers for this customer in a WebLogic Server cluster and track time created for this session.

    When you make a server - this is when failover occurs - the secondairy server takes over the request. Now, you would probably see that a session is created on the other server.

  • Carousel component and stand-alone Weblogic server problem.

    Hello! I have a problem after I deployed my application on stand-alone Weblogic Server. There is no error when I do the same local Weblogic Server. So, let's discuss.

    My App is deployed to new stand-alone WebLogic Server. I have the page with carousel cpmponent, when I visit I can see: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2677/20101020-bvow-82kb

    When I navigate to another page by pressing the 'BACK' button, then I go to the master/detail page, see: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2677/20101020-casn-19kb

    I see no data in the detailed form, but the data should be there. And when I try to navigate this page with buttons next, previous and so on, then I got an error in the browser, see: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2677/20101020-cugj-20kb

    If I do the same scenario in my local server, then there is no problem.

    An interesting thing is that when I restert my stand-alone Weblogic Server and try to visit my pages in different order app - first visit master detail form and him visit my page to view carousel, so I have no errors. And after that I try to get my application by first scenario and no errors. So if I post the stand-alone deployment first visit master/detail form, then carousel. So before my app works well, but if I first visit page carousel after deployment stand-alone weblogic server. Then forward, I have problems as I said.

    The problem is the carousel component. If I delete and make the same scenarious on the stand-alone server, then there not a problem as I have menthioned before. ANY ideas what is wrong and why everything works correct on the local server?

    If you need more information, please let me know! Moreover, here you can download my App and try to deploy it to your own stand-alone Weblogic Server, app is here: http://www.failiem.lv/down.php?i=fwgzym & n = Test_carousel_in_standalone_weblogic_server.zip

    After downloading, run the scripts in the database project (see: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2677/20101020-akcx-16kb)

    And after deploy you my application on STAND-ALONE weblogic server, visit the ViewCarousel.jspx page and in press the 'BACK' button and see what happens.

    Hope for your answers, cordially, Debuger!

    Debuger,
    of course, I ran your use case. And it worked on my environment.

    OK, my guess is that you hit the Bug 9183113. Brief summary, is that if you use createRootApplicationModule (...) outside the binding of the adf, the chances are that you break links to the other parts of the application that use the same definition of application module. In your test cases, you use createRoorApplicationModule (...) to stream image via a servlet in the browser. You use the same definition of application to the ruin of the application module. Sometimes it breaks resulting in the "no data found" links you see.

    The work-around, I found as it is to ensure that the servlet you use createRootApplicationModule, runs through the filter adfBindings. It worked for me, so give it a try.

    Open your web.xml file, select "Filters" and then in the table "adfBindings". In the tabs below the table select "filter mappings. He see you on entry fro "Faces Servlet". HJit green '+', select 'Servlet' as "Mapping Type", in the column mapping use the drop down arrow and select your 'ImageServletCarousel', 'Distributor Type' column select the checkboxes for 'Before' and 'ask '.
    Do the same for other servlets image you use and save your work.
    Recompile and build a new EAR and deploy it. See if that fixes your mistake.

  • WebLogic - redirection problem

    Hello!

    I have a Management Server (port: 7001) and a server managed (port: 80).
    I would like access to the Weblogic Administration Console on port 80, for example http://mycomputer/console
    How would I do that? I could configure the server manages to redirect the URL http://mycomputer/console to http://mycomputer:7001 / console?
    Or is there another way?
    Thank you!

    Viktor

    Hi Viktor
    As Jay mentioned, you can change the port of the Server Admin to 80. BUT if you have the server run on the same computer, you must change the listening port of server managed to something else instead of 80.

    Another option is to install the Apache Web server as a front end. And Apache can run on port 80. And configure the URL in apache so that it redirects to Weblogic Server.

    Infact, since you already have a set area clustered with a managed server, you need to install some sort of Web server in front of the load balancing cluster. Now, you can have a single server managed in the clsuter. But down the line, if you add more servers managed at this cluster, certainly you must have some sort of Web Sever of Plug In in front of this balancing of load and Failover Cluster. So better to go with the free Apache Web Server. The configuration is very simple. Here is the link for 10.3. The steps are pretty much the same for any version of weblogic.

  • Several connections open db in a weblogic cluster

    We have created a weblogic with oracle database cluster.
    Whenever we start the cluster (managed server), there are a lot of connections open in the database (about 150 in the database). Although we have a maximum capacity of cgDataSource, cgDataSourcenoXA and wlsjmsreportDS 20. So ideally should be not more than 60 connections open at any time.
    We use 10gR 3 OSB in 64-bit Linux platform.

    The maximum capacity for a data source is by node in the cluster (if it is targeted on the cluster).

    So if you have 3 sources of data, with a maximum capacity of 20 nodes of each and two in your cluster you should have about 3 * 20 * 2 = 120 connections.

    Of course to start WebLogic creates only the number of connections specified in the initial capacity.
