Webroot Spy Sweeper

Webroot Spy Sweeper just put up-to-date.  Now, my laptop says that I don't have spyware. When I open Webroot it says I'm covered!   What is happening with this?

Also, I had a lot of recent Java fatal errors.   Errors are listed on my desk.  Something about access happens.   Also noticed my system is slow to come and moving from one site to the other.  Could you please provide me with the help?

I am a member of Club Pogo (pogo.com) and I wonder if it is a question, even if I got it for a few years now.

I'm really at a loss.  Could you please help me with the questions listed above, or point me in the right direction to get the resolution?

Thank you!

Evie

Please specify your problem, if Webroot is said to have no spyware, you should be good.

About Java, try to reinstall it.

  • How do I find and disable webroot spy sweeper?

I'm trying to get rid of the "inadmissible scripts" that freeze to my computer. Makes me crazy! I'm not very knowledgeable computer, so telling me to disable webroot spy sweeper does not help. I have no idea what it is, where to find it, or how to do it. Help!

Hello cypressmd, as the link in the second answer of John99 said, the problem is probably an installed extension, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

  • It's time for renewal. With the purchase, Best Buy both installed Webroot Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro AntiVirus more spyware on my laptop?

    Can I both these packages.

You don't need two of them.  What is more, two of these (the antivirus/antispyware programs that followed in real time) running programs at the same time can slow down your computer and cause other problems.  Boulder computer Maven

  • Install or not to install: "Webroot Antivirus with spy sweeper" and "Norton Internet security".

original title: install or have not installed?

I am very confused about the difference between "Webroot Antivirus with spy sweeper" and "Norton Internet security". They are both asking me to click on install. They provide the same service? What one do need me more? Windows 7 is already a certain protection/security installed in? I'm afraid to install anything that is not "Microsoft". I heard that too much protection can get an infected computer. My new computer is not yet a year old, I want to keep it in good shape for as long as possible.

The real risk of installing more of an anti-virus program is that they do not work well together and can cause system performance slow and computer lock-up and others.  You should only choose an antivirus product and install it.  Microsoft Windows comes with a limited program called "Windows Defender" that protects against spyware/adware, but no virus, but if you prefer a Microsoft solution, you can download and install "Microsoft Security Essentials" that offers more protection.  Personally, I also use and recommend MSE and have never had a problem with it.

Make sure that you uninstall Webroot and Norton Internet Security before installing MSE.

  • How can I set up Vista so that the PC does not switch to another window (for example the Spy Sweeper alerts) while I am playing a game?

How can I set up Vista so that the PC does not switch to another window (for example the Spy Sweeper alerts) while I am playing a game?

Vista is not in control of this technique. Spy Sweeper needs to have an option to control that. If this isn't the case, then it is badly programmed. Flight of focus (go to another window) when it is actually needed is a big no-no for the design. I find this option, if I were you :)

  • App 'Spy Sweeper' I can't find it in the programs of office of control on my list be hidding under another name?

IM installing windows 10 they say uninstall "Spy Sweeper" app, but I can't find that in the office programs control on my list be hidding under another name?

Could be some kind of spyware or malicious. Perform analysis and let us know if they find something.

Also, see C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x 86) for all the folders that are for the app or all folders that you are not familiar of (can be a subfolder).

  • 'Cool Down Mode' a 'threat of application?

I have a Motorola Backflip that I updated to 2.1 - update1 awhile back. A few weeks ago, I installed Webroot Security for Android 1.6.13.296. He currently has 125 game definition. (I use Webroot Spy Sweeper on my PC for several years without problem).

I did a scan a couple of days and Webroot reported a 'threat of Application' called 'Cool Down Mode '. He wants me to 'remove' the threat.

I googled "Cool Down Mode" and it seems that it is an integrated application included with the phone. If it is actually a virus, I'm happy to remove it, but if it's an integrated application used to prevent overheating on my phone I think I want to keep.

I went to Webroot backup and questioned on this subject. They told me to post a question on their forum. I haven't done it yet, I thought I'd ask the experts phone first.

Is 'Cool Down Mode' a threat? Will there be an Android virus called that?

    Thanks in advance.

I went on the Support Forum of community Webroot and was informed that my version of Webroot Security for Android (1.6.13.296) was not common. I've updated to version 1.8.15.640, always with the definition set 125, and the problem is solved.

"Cool Down Mode" is not a threat of enforcement. It is integrated in the operating system kernel in the factory and cannot be deleted.

  • Anti virus and Spyware

I'm new to computers etc. Please please help someone. I have a dell 5150 dimension with Windows XP media edition 2005. It came with the trial version of Norton internet security 2005 90 days. I have not changed any settings.

I asked Macfee if they do a full 1 registration year that will run on my system, what they said that THEY DO NOT HAVE anything this IS WHAT WILL RUN ON library, operating system. But recommend dell Macfee - either one of the parties knows not what the other knows.

    I can't get a response from Norton.

My question is what I have on my system so that I don't get viruses or spyware on my system? Help, please

I've successfully used Norton products for years on many systems.  That's what I would continue with.  November magazine PC World reports Webroot Spy Sweeper to the most effective spyware stopper.  I usually run Norton AV and firewall ZoneAlarm or Norton, and I use a router that also acts as a hardware firewall.

  • I can not access my Webroot AntiVirus & spyware protection to enable it as my security provider. Windows defender keeps "takeover." How can I fix?

For more than a month now, I get in the right corner that Webroot Software would I discover my notifications after his scan but when I click on view the Notifications, I get the mini screen that says loading... Please wait, but nothing happens.  I can leave it there all day and nothing happens!

I tried every way I know how to enter Webroot without success.  I just ignored it for a while, but now I get these red bombs of the Windows Defender Security of dangerous files. etc on my computer and run and scan.  I then noticed tonight that Windows is the security system ONLY of Anit-Virus and Spy Sweeper running on my computer when I always chose my own 'System' - Webroot and don't remember that change at any time.

It is of course the weekend and you cannot get technical assistance from them until Monday, but I need to know how to pass but Webroot and not to use Windows security.  When I try to change it, it displays the option 'choose' your own but not space on the page where to enter wht you have or offer search systems on your computer!  It makes me crazy!

I also get a local saying JavaScript:0 VOID not only when I try to choose Webroot but when I tried to buy some goods on Nordstrom the other day.  I have accidentally about a month or two ago uninstalled or delete Java because I don't think I used it and less you have on your computer the better.  Well, I think I live by myself because when I tried to reinstall, I hit a snag and it won't download it without the original program under Windows.  If the two are related and how to help me with these questions?

I hate IE9 and wish I could go back to IE8, but those days are over... I want to just get Webroot rear Protection as my main security and get return period of Java!

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

If you gave the name of the Security Defender program properly, you are infected with malware

There is NOTHING to do with Windows Defender in Vista

    ___________________________________________________

Security Defender is a fake anti-spyware that displays the results of the analysis wrong and alerts of security on your computer in order to scare you into buying. This program is usually installed on your computer through the use of the web sites that display ads claiming to be an online anti-malware scanner. When this ad is finished, it will state that your computer is infected and then prompts you to download and install Security Defender on your computer.

Follow the steps in the deletion in the link below

and malware, Security Defender is, STOP your antivirus and real work safety programs!

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Internet-Explorer/help/IE-9/How-do-i-install-or-uninstall-Internet-Explorer-9

    To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

    1. Click the button start , type programs and features in the search box and then click the display installed in the left pane updates.

    2. Under uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

  • Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9 and click on uninstall and then, when you are prompted, click Yes.

  • Click one of the following:

    • Restart now (to complete the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

    • Restart more later (to wait until you stop or restart your computer).

  • Note

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9 RC, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. There is no need to reinstall.

  • running webroot essentials of security with windows firewall

I installed essentials of webroot internet security on my PC. I notice now that my windows firewall is turn off and replaced by webroots firewall. I also noticed that in the centre network and sharing that my network discovery and file sharing are on. Also that I'm on a public network. Before I installed the webroot internet security essentials I was always on a home network and the only thing on was the password protect and sharing. Is this normal after the installation of the webroot internet security essentials. I used to run spy sweeper from webroot with antivirus, but just to switch to the bulk of new weroot. It seems webroot makes these changes to my PC. Is this normal and safe? Thank you for your time.

If you install according to their values by default, she would probably turn off Vista firewall.

You need to ask these questions Webroot Internet Security Support team.

It is their safety program, not Microsoft.

    Cheer.
