WEBSCAN

A common question that I see on the forums occurs when the computer cannot communicate with the scanner. Now, these issues can be caused by a number of issues of the connection method (i.e. wirelesss Ethernet, USB) for programs that the printer interacts by (for example, antivirus software).

However, even if you encounter such a situation, it is generally a job pretty easily got around what we call the Web Scanner. Most of our printers are able to interact on a network via a wired Ethernet connection or a wireless connetion. When a printer is on the network you can access a space called the integrated Web server (or EWS - see below).

Here, you will notice that it contains a lof of resources and useful information for your printer. Upstairs, there are sections divided to access different parts of your printer. If you click the scan you will often presented with several options, the minimum which is the Web search function (some printers inclued scan settings and other resources).

Here, you can scan an image into your computer, adjust the settings and choose the type of the analysis file and save this right then and there. It is a very useful feature instead of having the actual scanning software.

I hope that you find this information useful, and if you have any questions do not hesitate to me message!

When you use webscan hp7610 how to save the file on my mac?

    Hi roch4t,

I understand that you have an Officejet 7610 and you're wanting to know how to record a webscan. I will definitely do my best to help you.

I tested on our Mac 10.9 we have here and came with the screenshot below. Once the scan is finished, I held the CTRL key and clicking on (or if you have a two button mouse, you can just right click) on the analysis and got the drop-down list, you see at the bottom right and selected open in preview. Once it has opened in the preview, I was able to then click on file and save.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

    Hi satwar,

WEBSCAN is a feature that is available in the SAP - integrated Web server. You can use it to scan a document and then save it on your computer. Just another method of scanning a document.

Unfortunately, as your model printer is not an automatic document feeder and Webscan has no line to "add pages additional scan", you can only scan 1 page document and save them in PDF format at any time.

    Hello

Printers LaserJet does not include the Webscan, such interface is available for the HP inket printers.

You can scan from the software by following the steps below:

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet 8620 Webscan Pro via the power supply produces corrupt PDF. Yes, I'm serious...

    The environment:

Network connected HP Officejet Pro 8620 all-in-one.

Workstation running Windows Pro 64-bit 10.

Internet Explorer browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as default PDF reader.

Full functionality of the HP printing software is NOT installed.

Using the feature of webscan and the automatic document feeder, I scan the document with the default settings for a PDF file (although I have experienced with other parameters).  The scan works very well, and the new page opens with the displayed document.  If I scroll the document by using the wheel on my mouse to halfway through the volute, a window pops up saying "Year Internal Error Occurred" after what I have to hit OK.  I can save the document in PDF format, and as long as I open it with Acrobat Reader DC, it will show.  If I try to open it with another drive (for example Microsoft Edge, I get a blank page).  I tried to create a new PDF by printing it in Acrobat Reader to a PDF generator (generator PDF PrimoPDF and Microsoft), but in both cases, it says "the file could not be printed" and "no pages selected to print.

The scenario above also happens if I scan a multi-page document.  HOWEVER, if I scan a single page document with the original on the glass, the scenario above does NOT.  It creates a perfectly usable PDF.

So... to eliminate Adobe and or IE as the culprits, I put the PDF reader by default Microsoft Edge and launched the webscan using Microsoft Edge also.  When I scanned it using the automatic document feeder, it fed the document, acted like he was treating it, and the result was a WHITE page.

The printer firmware is up to date.  I tried the old turn it off, unplug the unit, wait a while and turn it on again the solution, but that made no difference.

I searched the forums and see reports that correspond to what I see.  Overview of all what could happen here would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi @exfordguy

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

In General, the WebScan function is intended for diagnostic purposes and is not quite as functional as the software. If you choose not to install the full feature software and driver, you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

If the printer has Web Services enabled, you can also go into the applications menu and use the scan to e-mail.

Honestly, I see no reason why you are scanning via WebScan when there are better options available.

  • My new HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a does not allow a webscan

My new HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a does not allow a webscan on my laptop Dell Win7, which indicates on its Web page ¨that that the corresponding software is not installed".  I already tried in vain to install all software from the included cd, but did not find the corresponding software.  I was surprised to see that this cd does not start by itself, the single executable that I found was a setupxxx.exe and that did not include the scanning options.

Anyone has a suggestion to solve this?

    Hello tutoke

The Webscan must be selected in the tab of the administrator of the Embeded Web Server (EWS). See the screenshot below.

    1. Click settings
    2. Click the administrator settings
    3. Check Webscan
    4. Press on apply downstairs.

    Try to scan the image.

  • Activation of Webscan for HP 5520e printer all in one

I m trying to activate Webscan on this printer. The software directs me open security in the settings Menu and turn on Webscan but before I get to that option I get a message from Windows stating security a username password is required. I tried to use the network name and the password, but without success. What is sought here?

    Hi gnomad899,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that trying to activate webscan for your printer Photosmart 5520 you is invited for a password to access the built-in web server.

Please try just pressing on enter the default password is empty.

If this does not help, then please restore the default settings of the network from the front panel of the printer. The network Restore Defaults are at the bottom of the menu settings wireless. Once you have restored the default settings of the network, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your wireless network. You should now be able to access the built-in web server.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • HP8620: WEBSCAN on HP8620

I can't activate / use WEBSCAN. I followed the instructions in the help file, but is not working (Message says that the feature is disabled), and I cannot access the SAP by using the IP address of the URL (S) or host name. The unit is installed on a network cable and all the printing unit, scanning and copy functions work fine. The software supplied with the printer is installed, all the updates are installed, etc. I can scan with standard settings and 600 DPI using the "Scan to Network Folder" option. If I use WEBSCAN can I get a higher DPI scan? Thank you for your help.

    Hello

First of all, regarding your question. WEbscan offers the same functionality as the scan to a network folder, up to 600 DPI.

Regardless, to enable it you must select the settings tab > the administrator settings and check the box to activate the functionality.

Hihger resolutions is possible using the HP software and scanning from the flatbed glass.

Click the HP Officejet Pro 8620 on your computer and select scan a Document or Photo.

Set the Source as the glass flat (no ADF), and then you will be provided with the opportunity to select up to 1200 dpi.

    Kind regards

  • WEBSCAN tool for HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One - C311a

HP Photosmart e-All-in-One 7510 - C311a, windows XP SP3 I try to scan from Control Panel or a pc, but get the error message "scanner communication cannot be established.  I'm used to be able to do, but now does not work. At the same time, I got the connection USB or WIFI capability but has decided to remove the WIFI.

I tried to use the webscan tool to access the printers on a wireless network. There the option for "WEBSCAN START", but when click on the button a window appears which says Webscan is not enabled and tells me how to activate.  The problem when I try to turn it on is window appears saying required authentication request USER NAME and PASSWORD.  I do not have this information and don't remember not everything.

Is it lack of information that I can enter?  If a user name and password has been set is there a way to reset by default?   HP helps me with this problem because as our guarantee of ot.  If someone knows how to do this configuration of the computer OR scan, I would really help here.

If you have never used this tool, you must go to the settings tab and select Security. a change password appears with the entered password (shich you won't know).  As explained, you can change the password or leave blank entries that allows you to disable password checking.

After I disabled password is then able to activate web analytics and web scan works properly.  Curiously, I tried later to scan to the computer (via USB) from the printer control panel and this feature is now operational. Do not know what does the job.

  • Why my webscan on HP 6700 won't work with mac OSX Mavericks?

I have a new mac mini, a new HP Officejet of 6700. Everything works on the officejet except the webscan, the only way I can scan is at the front of the printer and only in color which is a big problem. I downloaded the new version of the drivers that supposed to solve the problem of the Mavericks, but still cannot use the scan in the program function. Help, please! I need to scan documents in black and white or I will have to return the printer to the store and buy another brand that works with Mac.

    Hello divegirl7,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to Webscan using the award-winning Officejet 6700. I will do my best to help you! For this printer, it is the full features software that will allow you to use the HP software. Please follow these steps:

Make sure your Apple to complete on your computer updates. Please follow this document Apple here to help you. Then, you want to repair the permissions of the drive to your computer here.

If you are still unable to use the scanning software, then I recommend uninstalling the software. Once this done, please install full software features on the HP site here.

    Help, please.

If we don't want my network setting, that is - that's right.

Note: both my os is windows xp.

I apologize for my bad English.

Have you tried to manually configure the IP 192.168.0.3 printer?

You must also put the printer subnet mask to 255.255.255.0

Which should allow the computer 1 routes IP printer to computer 2 packets (as computer 1 is turned on and the computer 1 provides routing between ethernet ports).

    It's worth a try.
