    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

I just checked and it works - you can purchase media recovery using the following URL from here > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dm4-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5145680/model/5171100

Price is 25 USD - 3 DVDs but the questions is that the system provides only U.S. addresses shipping. Since you're outside the States, this could be a problem.

I also checked that it is available on a 3rd party site that might be able to ship outside of the U.S.. > > http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-22105-windows-7-64b-recovery-kit-669481-001-for-hp-pavilion-entertainment-notebook-pc-model-number-dm4-2165dx.aspx

If you have HP recovery media, I suggest you contact HP support, explain the situation and see if they can ship the recovery media in the Hungary. You can check with the support of the Hungary > > http://www8.hp.com/hu/hu/contact-hp/phone-assist.html

Another option that will probably work now on the existing HARD drive:

Each HP computer that has Windows preinstalled comes with recovery partitions that can be used to reinstall Windows to factory default condition. It's called HP recovery process. If the partitions are still there and intact, they will do the trick for you and you will be able to recover now. Here's how to perform a recovery > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418#AbT3

Essentially - restart the computer and as soon as it starts booting keep hitting the Esc key (such as tap-tap-tap) to access the HP boot menu. Choose F11 - recovery and follow the on-screen instructions.  Backup your data before restoring.

In case you decide to replace the HARD drive with an SSDor a new one, then you can the previous image player and to transfer the image to the new free software like Clonezilla > > www.clonezilla.org

  • HP client security

    Hello

I want to uninstall Hp client security from my laptop, but when I try to uninstall it, I got an error "Disable Drive encryption security manager Hp... How can I disable it from Hp Security Manager... ??? Help, please

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

There are some things you SHOULD do before you uninstall HP Client Security, as it is defined in many programs and features, but HP Client Security is the control center.

HP Client Security often comes in combination with the HP drive encryption software.

If your drive is currently encrypted by this software, you must first open HP Client Security-> click on the safety car and follow the on-screen instructions to DECRYPT the disk. Note that this is usually slow process and may take several hours or more depending on whether you are the amount of your drive HARD and your specifications.

You can also check if you pre-seed (PBA) authentication is enabled. Open the HP Client Security home page-> click the settings button-> safety devices wheel and check there is no check mark next to the authentication market

Regarding security customer HP and HP Drive Encryption, here are a few screenshots with regard to these suggestions > >

    ========

Some notes - as mentioned in the article itself - updated only if you really must. Personally, I don't recommend do you it unless you're having problems with your existing BIOS and you are sure that the new BIOS will fix it.

General recommendation I provided to users/customers is NOT to upgrade the BIOS/UEFI, unless they live any sort of BIOS/UEFI problem specific. Just for updaing and update just for the use of the latest verson is not the solution. Any type of update (no matter what and that relesed it) can solve 2 problems but could introduce more than 10 questions. In addition, upgrading the BIOS (for any provider) are risky more because the BIOS recovery is not that easy compared to updates of typical software IF something goes wrong.

It goes the same for Windows updates, OS update, drivers, etc - update/update updates IF you have any questions, you know are fixed in the new version or for some serious security problems. Otherwise, keep the existing version as long as possible.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or if you have difficulties

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

You need not F10 in this case [BIOS].

    You must F9 - Boot Device menu > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443326

1 Please, shut down the computer using the power button hold for awhile.

    2. Insert the provided HP recovery media.

    3. power on the camera back by pressing the power on button

3.1 as soon as you press the power button, keep hitting the Esc key (such as tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Boot Menu that can resemble the following

    4. choose F9 to open the boot options

    5. as boot device, select the USB device

    6. follow the on-screen instructions.

If the above does not work, please let me know. You can also start the start menu using the features of the Tablet without the keyboard (if the above does not work) > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03801890

You can try to reinstall Windows and possibly update the drivers to try to solve this problem.

  • ProBook 4430: Windows 7 upgrade-> Windows 10 (HP ProtectTool problem)

    Hey everybody,

I ran into a problem while improving my PC to 10 Windows and he said I need to uninstall HP protect tool which is also connected to 6 other products and I need to remove/uninstall all of them.

What do I do and is it safe to uninstall?

I can it download it again once I've upgraded to Windows 10 because I liked the face recognition software.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

Yes, you must decrypt your hard drive and you must uninstall the security software as HP tools protect.

In fact, Protect tools is old version. The most recent version of the same software is called HP Client Manager Security.

HP Client Manager (Protect tools) Security is just 'control center' of other applications.

You must uninstall all, finally protect tools, restart the computer.

Then, start the computer and connecting to Windows.

Do not attempt to remove the software, unless you are sure that you can bypass the login screen and boot on the Windows desktop.

You must open your security HP Client Manager / protect tools.

Authenticate with the Windows password or another option.

    - First, if it is available in your version and if you - go to drive encryption and make sure that you DISABLE disk encryption hard while the disc gets decerypted. This can take a long time (hours or more to complete).

    Reboot / restart the computer

    - Second, if available in your version and if the case on your part, go into identifying information - fingerprints of the article and delete data

You can see how I created by these screenshots (these are for the most recent version, not to protect tools) > https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=73EA0FA259008E8! 107 & authkey =! AEyZq_GEDdnNQnE & ithint = file %2 c

When you're ready, you can try to uninstall all and restart the computer eventually.

Finally, you can upgrade to Windows 10. Here are a few tips and tricks > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04730900

I'm afraid tools protect HP and HP customer security Manager are not compatible with Windows 10, not officially.

    In view of the information >here<, officially="" supported="" are="" win="" 7="" and="" win="">

Windows Hello is free available in Windows 10 facial recognition function > http://www.windowscentral.com/how-set-windows-hello-facial-recognition-windows-10

Drive encryption (Bitlocker) may be also available according to the edition of your Windows.

I would like to know if it works for you. Please, give your feedback.

[private under the leadership of life]

Welcome aboard, Malbert. I have difficulties to find a way out of version 8.1 Overview.  Microsoft admits that out of 8.1 full version is difficult, but we'll give it a try anyway.

Press or click on the lower right of the desktop (or sweep from the right edge of the splash screen) and select gear settings icon, then select "change PC settings."

In this screen, click or tap "update and recovery", choose recovery option and proceed to an update from there. The computer will use the recovery partition on hard drive to put things as soon as they were when you took the computer out of the box, along with your own data.

Unfortunately, I found three sites that indicate that Windows 8.1 Preview cannot be uninstalled. MS advised you during the installation of the preview to do a backup on a USB key. If you don't do this, the best thing to do now is to upgrade to 8.1. Do not despair. Updates and new drivers appear regularly, and over time, 8.1 starting to work better.
