What browsers support Webhelp in RoboHelp HTML

Hi all

I generated a webhelp layout in Robohelp HTML version 7.01.001

If I open the default topic using IE, IE wonder first activate an ActiveX control.

If I open it with Firefox or Safari, I can see the content and left navigation bar immediately.

If I open using google Chrome, the left navigation bar is empty...

Can you give me a list of the supported browsers and versions? I don't want the command prompt to enable the ActiveX control when opening it IE. I thought that it is a pure HTML page with javascript. Don't know why he needs control ActiveX to be enabled...

Thank you

Hello

Google Chrome was not at the time of that creation of RoboHelp 7. It is therefore no surprising that WebHelp does not correctly display in Chrome.

In Internet Explorer, you will see that the yellow information (YIB) bar when you run it locally off the C drive. Most people copy WebHelp to a Web server. When users can access it from a Web server, they are in a different security zone and will not meet the YIB.

See you soon... Rick

  • RoboHelp HTML Version 11: Where can I find the version of RoboEngine which comes with 11 HR?

I ask this question because the guide using RoboHelp HTML 11 said that the new context-sensitive Help API is only supported with RoboHelp Server or RoboEngine 3.0 or later version.

Since we are considering deployment of WebHelp and WebHelp Pro to a web server hosted by company (instead of to RoboHelp Server), we want to assure you that we can use the CSH API to call the CSH subjects.

    Thank you.

    Carol

    Hello

You need not RoboEngine (former name of the HR server?) You can simply put your files on any hosted platform and use the context-sensitive help api.

Are what API you referring? You can still use sensitive context help, whether you use additional products.

  • RoboHelp HTML v9 - Image shadow CSS

    Hello ,.

I have another question, all my images should have a drop shadow.

I tried the following statement, but it did not work. (The statement is correct because it works on my site )

    IMG {}

    box-shadow: 5px 5px #020202 20px;

    }

You have an idea why it does not work in RoboHelp?

Or do you have any work around?

    A work-around, I thought has a tag < p > (paragraph) designed by the robohelp css editor.

But a shadow in the css editor is not a shadow, it's only a background color.

    Kind regards

    Denis

    Hello

    What output you create?

This could be a browser issue? Box-shadow is css3 and not all browsers support the css (vanilla) statement. See http://www.css3.info/preview/box-shadow/ for the browser-specific tags and browser support.

For CHM/IE, you will need to use an ugly, called solutions filter. See: http://ole-laursen.blogspot.com/2009/08/using-css3-box-shadow-with-ie.html there is a chance that it will simply not work in CHM.

  • Import of Word 2002 RoboHelp HTML 5 problem

I'm obviously a beginner and it's very basic, but it drives me crazy. Import of Word documents is no longer works. I use Robohelp HTML 5 - project of Webhelp, Windows XP, Office XP (Word 2002). Last month, import a document Word has worked (well after that I cleaned up everything in Word first). NOW when I try to import a Word doc (with headers preserved, auto creation of styles OR nothing checked) I get a dialog box warning stating "Microsoft Word seems to be unresponsive. You want to continue waiting for an answer? "Of course he never does this loop. Word opens with an empty Document1 and "Converting * .doc" present in the taskbar. It is not locked, but it does not end import either.

I have now reinstalled MS Office twice and Robohelp 4 times (I forgot to disable the antivirus protection once, I did not edit the file RegEdit first and even tried with disabled once ADSL modem). Unfortunately, I did a few things because it did not work properly. I've updated the RAM in my computer and I got DSL high speed internet (Yes!) ... which shouldn't have been a problem. I'm not so sure about the addition of a working group and tent unsuccessfully to set up a network for your laptop's internal wireless. And then... drum roll... it is the thing of Pando. No programs installed, but the music and movies downloaded. I did uninstall Pando because I believe it was working properly eventually, but not positive.

Sorry to write a book. I've read countless messages but not finding what I need. Hope someone can help because I am alone in my very small business using Robohelp or trying and I don't have anyone to ask. Adobe will support not 2 versions back and what I read on Robohelp 7, I'm afraid to upgrade. I appreciate any help!

    Thank you
    Debbie

No, it is important that HR is installed last.

Where is the Normal of Word template installed?

It is important that Word is run once after installation before trying to work with HR.

Should not alter a scope but change the security settings for Word for average rather than the default value of the height.

Corresponds to the Word installation standard installation on your PC, nothing unusual?

Tell us more about Pando, and why you think that this might be relevant.

    Which firewall do you use?

  • Using Images in RoboHelp HTML

We are currently studying the possibility of consolidating/centralizing our documentation in our online help system and are looking for input from anyone who has experience with what we offer...

We create several systems online help for a series of Web-based applications and we use RoboHelp HTML 7. Currently, content in our support systems is essentially text - only descriptions and step by step instructions, we have a few images like logos and icons, but the majority is text.

Export us the text in Word, add screenshots and create PDFs that is printed for use in face-to-face training sessions.

We are looking to makeover / the centralization of our process by including all the screen captures in the help system. However, concern has been raised regarding the addition of a lot of impact image files will be the speed and functionality of the help system.

We compile our support systems and send the entire record of the WebHelp to development where it is tested and then deployed on our servers. It is accessible by our clients to our application via Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari

Our customers access to our application via internet connections high speed, so the access speed will not be a problem. And of course we save images to GIF format to get the actual size of the file smaller. But questions remain such as:

Is there a limit to the number of images that you can use in a help system?

Is there a limit to the number of images that you can use in a topic?

-What effect will have a large number of images in the process of compilation guidance system? (I realize that it may take more time to compile, but is there a point where the system will break?)

Is there a limit to the size of the set of help files?

In addition to these issues, I wonder:

-Do you use images in your systems?

    -Have you had problems with?

-Tricks or tips you want to share on the use of images in a help system?

    Welcome to our community, TechDocGreg

I use images, all the time. I've never known break my support system. And I used to have a TON of them. (I documented a lot of material - do you gobs and gobs of photographic images of various materials in different "pose").

Of course, images likely to cause the overall size of the system helps inflate, but this should be a big problem.

Today, I tend to use exclusively. PNG format for all my images.

If you need to make a subject appear to be slim, you can drag the images inside drop-down hotspots DHTML (Dynamic HTML). That way they won't be visible unless the user really wants to see them.

  • RoboHelp HTML Version 7 - when does end for Version 7?

I will repeat the question in the case: RoboHelp HTML Version 7 - when does end for Version 7?

    Thanks, Chuck

You say 'I'll repeat the question in the present case' as if you've been ignored. Where did you go after because I didn't know asked recently.

I understand the policy of Adobe support for the current and previous version. That would mean support ended with the introduction of RoboHelp 9 which was around June 2011.

For the most part, you should get all the support you need here, but it will be limited to supporters of the forum are all passed to later versions. Therefore, until we can remember.

Whether or not stick you with your current version will depend on your outings. If it's CHMS you should be fine and Print will be OK as long as stick you with a version of Word taken in charge by Rh7. If you need to generate WebHelp, expect all sorts of problems for which there is no solution.

  • RoboHelp HTML version 9 edition failed to connect to RoboHelp Server 9

As an administrator for our RoboHelp Server (version 9), I created "Author" rights of access for a person.  This person is a technical writer who works remotely.  He tried to publish his Office RoboHelp HTML (version 9) to our RoboHelp Server software, but has encountered an error in publication. What is causing this error and what would be a solution to this problem?

A screenshot and the text of the error is listed below:

    WebHelp Pro

    The publication has been cancelled.

The connection has failed.  Please check the connection and post it again.

    Native error. Not allowed.

BTW, in the setting of the screenshots, it is best to use the camera icon, you see in the toolbar when you write your answer.

My guess is that some kind of configuration of the authorization was missed.

It is also difficult to know where to start because the author is "remote." What is VPN? Or remote desktop or what?

    I'll start with the obvious.

It could simply be that when the author generates the SSL Pro of WebHelp, the Edit Destination dialog box may be incomplete. I myself did fill the news shows this screenshot, I forgot to choose a box help or put in a wrong password. So, definitely check this first.

Then, you or your administrator must check the user account, group and the area of the author is correctly configured.

This screenshot shows that a group was created (in this case, called authors) and individual users have been assigned.

Finally, the Group of the authors must be assigned to a region and publication rights .

You can also watch this thread dealing with similar issues and solution.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/4162467#4162467

After that, it might have something to do with the remote author permissions to access the destination of publication (the machine that RoboHelp Server) from a remote location and has nothing to do with the side of RoboHelp permissions!

That's the best I can do where I sit. Let us know if solve you the problem.

  • Search RoboHelp HTML 8 problem

I have a RoboHelp 8 HTML single (non-merged) project in which, I can't get search working properly.

I was expecting to see a box where I can type a search term and a white pane on the contents, Index, search, glossary bar where search results would appear.  Instead, I get the following when I generate WebHelp:

    SearchPane.jpg

This problem appears in IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 of Firefox, which uses our customer base.  I use RoboHelp 8 on a Windows PC with XP Pro 2002 SP3.

In the project/general settings dialog box, the default parameters for the Stop List I and her always ignore list selected.  For "add new keywords for ' I 'Index File (Perfect)' selected, and 'Binary Index' is selected.

During the generation of WebHelp, I have the following set:

General selections: under 'Additional Options', 'apply to all subjects","CSS"is selected, with the correct name of the CSS is displayed.  'Add the Mark of the Web' is selected.

Selections of navigation: contents, Index, search, for the buttons of the toolbar, glossary are selected.  For Search Options, 'Search results select Enable' is selected.

Selection of preferred Format of navigation pane is pure HTML.  (We tried DHTML/HTML but which resulted in an empty nav component and a non-functional index).

Optimize the speed for: Web Site (Internet)

    Publish: Publish again together.

What we're doing wrong?  I'm totally stumped and I can't seem to find any help on this issue anywhere.  Thank you!

    Hello

This is because you use pure HTML. You must enable DHTML, otherwise, it seems that you see.

  • Start screen 6 RoboHelp HTML

    RoboHelp HTML 6

Can I create screensavers start using Robohelp HTML 6?  There are instructions in the help, but for some reason when I click on the Navigation control insert, I don't get HTML help controls mentioned.

    Hello

You can insert is totally dependent on what you have selected as your main layout. My guess is that it is currently set to WebHelp or FlashHelp. Start-up control is specific to Microsoft HTML Help and probably wouldn't translate to WebHelp anyway.

However, this does not mean that you have to give up a splash screen. I create all the time. My way is to create a topic to serve as start screen, and then insert a meta tag that redirects to another topic, after the expiry of a period of time. Pretty simple to do!

You don't have to change the HTML code of the page, but it's pretty painless. What you do is insert the code below somewhere in the list of the meta tags in the section. You will have to juggle it to the top or to the bottom of the list so that RoboHelp disconnected. No course somehow passed.

Change the value 0 the number of seconds that you want to see the splash screen.

Change the SomeTopic.htm to be the theme that you want to present to the user once the splash disappears.

Then configure the default theme to be the subject of splash.

  • Problems importing files in Robohelp HTML PDF

Hi, I am trying to import several files in PDF format I will then link to in my help file.  I get an error message that Robohelp is unable to import due to file being one "type of file not supported or the file is corrupt."  I don't see how they can be corrupted when I created them a few minutes before they open fine.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

    Well, now we're cooking!

What you need to do now is add these PDFs to your list of hatracks.

The pod of RoboHelp HTML project, you should see a folder luggage nickname if you are in Classic view. If you are in the new global vision that you won't see it.

If you see the nickname baggage files folder, right-click. If you don't see the folder luggage nickname, right click on the nickname project files folder.

Click new > file of baggage.

This should be a dialog box allowing you to choose the documents. (you can add more than one at a time)

After obtaining their added as baggage, you are able to link to them.

  • What product supports offline AD SSO

    Hello

I read Cyberoam support AD offline for SSO. It copies the data from the user of AD. So when AD down, SSO may still work correctly.

    QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

    1. what product support of Cisco that form these lists.

    a. WSA

    (b) the ESA.

    c. CUCM

    d. ISE,

    Thank you

The closest to this feature use WSA with CDA (context Directory Agent) that serve as authentication agent providing authentication WSA with the users information and store them in its local cache so all the customers from which AD server is offline, authentication will always continue to work.

The CDA 2 patch, can now work with ISE as well.

    1. Convert the copied project of Robo2015
    2. Generated WebHelp and copied to the server

    4. Cannot clear the error or reset the SEARCH.
