    Any help would be appreciated!

It is probably not a processor 64-bit capable. Check in the Apple menu-> about this Mac what he says, what is your processor. You need at least a Core 2 Duo. The original Core Duo cannot run 64-bit code and Lightroom requires a processor compatible 64-bit: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.edu.html

  • run Mavericks desktop under Snow Leopard?

    Hello

I have 3.1.3 Fusion running on my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.8. I hesitate to take the free Apple to the Mavericks update because I'm perfectly happy with my OS and I don't want to suddenly have a whole bunch of updates of music dear to perform. But I need to do a little test of some sw in Mavericks. So I thought I would create a virtual machine using my OS x 10.6.8 install disc supplied with my MacBook and then let Apple upgrade the virtual machine to the Mavericks. But the merger just sort of recognizes the DVD, it seems - he knows it's an OS X installation disc, but it doesn't give me that versions of the operating system to choose in the drop-down list server (and if I choose one and go ahead, the virtual machine does not start).

So, my question is, how to get a desktop Mavericks OS on a virtual machine running on a host of Snow Leopard? I don't mind paying to upgrade to Fusion if it is a path to the solution, I don't want upgrade if it does not get me where I'm going.

Thanks for any advice you can offer,

    Warren

Well, a lot of problems with it.  You cannot virtualize 10.6.8 copy that came with your computer for two reasons: first, only the commercial versions of Mac OS x (not those that come with the computer) can be virtualized under the EULA.  Secondly, only 10.6.8 Server versions can be virtualized under this particular EULA (i.e. a changed with later versions).  You can buy a copy of 10.6.8 Server edition of apple by phone for about $20 (or at least you might a few months ago, but you can't upgrade the host operating system and have all the baggage of running server.)

You could download installer 10.9 and create a new machine virtual own from scratch, but there are a couple of other challenges: Fusion 3 supports virtualization 10.9.  You may need to level and later what to do, can not run on 10.6.8.  It is also probably a violation of the EULA to virtualize 10.9 on 10.6.8 (edition of the same server), and it will not work even if your machine does not natively support 10.9.  You might also encounter issues if you have a Core 2 Duo machine (most of the vintage 10.6 machines are like that) - since it has only two hearts and 10.9 VM require 2 hearts are working properly, you'll be starving the host for CPU cycles.

Since 10.6.8 is outdated and is no longer supported by Apple (not even security - patches if you are high risk on the Internet), one possible option is to upgrade the OS host to 10.9 (even once, assuming that the machine can be improved), upgrade to buy Fusion 6 (or 7 to be released soon), the 10.6.8 apple license and create a 10.6.8 VM (which should have only a single core) for the old programs you don't want to update.

Otherwise, the only real option is to dual-boot from an external drive or a partition of the internal drive - a partition for 10.9 and 10.6.8 and boot back and forth between them.  This one, you can do with the license 10.6.8 customer provided with your machine.  But make sure you have a very good backup - and no time machine (it was notorious for silent corruption in the pre versions 10.7 and VM backup is not good at all).  I recommend Carbon Copy Cloner of www.bombich.com to create a complete clone.  You might even clone the machine on an external drive, then upgrade this clone to 10.9 (assuming that other software licenses are not violated with two installs of course).

  • Can I use Fusion on Lion with Snow Leopard as a guest?

Basically, this is what I do to work around the problem of the lack of support of Rosetta in Lion... just a few pieces of software (software to children for the most part older that I can't get a updated version for.) But I would use iCloud, and therefore have Lion. So, can I use the merger on Lion, but then load Snow Leopard as a VM comments? If so, just use the SL disks, that I got when I upgraded to Leopard?

    Thank you!

tracywang wrote: Fusion only 10.6 Server version, not the version customer support based on license from Apple.

VMware Fusion 3.x is compatible Mac OS X Server v10.5 and Mac OS X Server 10.6.  These two client versions are not supported by VMware Fusion.

VMware Fusion 4.x supports it as VMware Fusion 3.x and additionally supports versions of Mac OS X Server 10.7.

  • Win7 switching to Parallels Desktop 4 for VMWare Fusion 2 under Snow Leopard

    Hi guys,.

I moved my Windows 7 install Parallels to Fusion, but when I go into the Device Manager, it mentions an unknown Ethernet controller and a unknow SCSI controller. I have no network on the virtual machine, which is bad, since it's my Office desktop environment. What can I do to reinstall the NIC to a working state? When I click on it, say update driver and driver search, he found nothing. I also tried the VMWare Tools for editing and let him use the CD, but no luck it no more.

    See you soon

    Nik

It seems to me that the conversion of Parallels set up Fusion for the type to PCnet NIC. You should not need to hack around to try to find a driver for Windows 7 PCnet. Instead, try to force the virtual network adapter to be a type of map NETWORK Intel e1000 (IIRC is the default value for a virtual Vista computer). Change virtual machine (with closed merger) .vmx file, and either a) add this line, or b) change a line beginning with ethernet0.virtualDev to match:

    ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000".

and see if Windows detects the card and it combines a driver.

  • Illustrator CS4 will not run under Snow Leopard

    Hello

I just did a clean install of Snow Leopard on my Mac. Here's what I did.

    (1) installed Snow Leopard 10.6

    (2) installed all the updates of OS X (including 10.6.1)

    (3) installed Quark Xpress-8.12

    (4) installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard

    (5) installed all updates of Adobe (no updates associated with Illustrator)

    (6) installed Extensis Suitcase Fusion 2 (v13.2.1)

    Photoshop starts very well.

When I launch Illustrator it crashes just after the start screen is displayed.

    Any ideas please?

Couldn't find anything on the Internet really - if cannot get a response soon, so I have to go back to the leopard .

    Thank you

    Mike.

I would suspect suitcase and maybe a corrupt police could be the cause of this problem and the database is corrupt.

However before any attempt of software really point the finger this removes all the unnecessary fonts then

    to do this

    first Illustrator altogether and then;

I go to the users/username/Library/preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings folder and trash this settings folder.
then see if Illustrator works well. If this is not the case, try a new user account if it works very well under a new user so I think it's the police database.

  • How can I access utilities for PS8250 using Snow leopard printer?

I used my PS8250 with OS X 10.4.11 for 3 or 4 years. I access the HP photo utilities to verify supply levels, align new ink cartridges, etc.

Now, I have a new Mac Mini with OS X 10.6.7 and I can't find my set of utilities print so I can do it. I checked HP downloads and told me that the drivers were included with Snow Leopard, and they are with the exception of the set of utilities with power level control.

    Any ideas?

    -Joe

Unfortunately, this network configuration does not use the utility - it does not work for printers shared via another computer.

It only works when it has a direct access to the device: printer must be connected to the network through its internal network card, if it has one, or directly to your mac via USB.

Utility should work on your G4, if you have it installed there.

  • Scanning on 3310 under Snow Leopard

What I did some research, you can scan is more directly since the 3310 and must now scan the events within the preferences system - print and Fax - Scan or listen to samples.  Is this always the case?  When I scan using this method, I get a scan size of the image of what I used to get.  How can I fix?

    Thank you

    Jason

In the Image Capture, with the details, you can set the scanning resolution.  If you want a beautiful document, set it to 300 DPI and file save directly to a .pdf file type.

All this can be done in the top right of the window to view the details on.

  • Error installing CS3 Design Standard on iMac under Snow Leopard (10.6.8)

I had a fully functional installation of CS3 on my iMac (Intel 2.16 MHz) and had a hard drive crash.

After replacing the hard drive, I reinstalled from my original disks, but get the following message is displayed:

"License for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contact your COMPUTER administrator or Adobe customer support for assistance.

I uninstalled the program (and ran the cleaner Adobe CS)... then reinstalled.   Same message.

I contacted Adobe installation media and told me that it is a product and they are unable to offer support. I find this unsatisfactory response to a minimum.

I'm puzzled because these programs were run very well before the crash... and all other software are back.

I need this feature, but cannot afford to move at this time.

    Suggestions?  Thank you.

  • Cannot install Final Cut Studio under Snow Leopard

I get the following warning when you try to install Final Cut Studio (version 3.0):

' - Final Cut Studio Installer requires that your system has 128 MB of VRAM; This system has only 0 MB of VRAM.' and

' - Final Cut Studio Installer requires that your system has a Quartz Extreme compatible video card. »

I find it curious as I used to have FCS installed on this machine - but because of the disk hard failure I have done a clean install of the new. I vaguely remember getting hurt when I upgraded to Snow Leopard (years) but there is a solution because the software was already installed. All the suggestions of the community?

    My specs are:

    Mac Pro 1.1

    2 x 2.66 GHz Dual - Core Intel Xeon

    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

    ATI Radeon HD 5770

    OS X 10.6.3

A Mac OS X Combo update fixed this problem. The computer was not connected to the internet since installing the new hard drive and I remembered that the video card was not the original. So I connected and performed the update of the software and now Final Cut Pro is fortunately installation.
