What happens when I run recovery disks in the computer?

Original title: .vista

I want to run my vista recovery disk, what actually happens when I do this.

Hello

When you run the manufacturer's recovery disk, it puts your computer / computer laptop back to factory settings. the new condition that you bought it in.

All your data: pictures, music files, etc. must be backed up on an external hard drive before making a recovery, because they will be normally lost.

All data updates to Windows, 3rd party programs, and that you have installed since your purchase of computer no longer the disk hard as the hard disk is normally wiped clean of everything during the recovery process.

The above is called a destructive recovery.

Some computer manufacturers also have the possibility of a non-destructive recovery, which stores programs and data in place.

But, the data must be saved IN the MATTER.

If your problem is so bad that you need to reinstall, a non-destructive recovery does not solve the problem of normally and most destructive recovery needs to be done

See you soon.

  • What happens when you reinstal XP OS with the cd that takes me to service pack 2 and I'm at service pack 3

I bought TurboTax and downloaded, but can I have downloaded previously because I was unable to install due to the previous installation.  After that 2 hours of phone support with TurboTax including screenshare, they stated that the problem lies in the registry. It was damaged and I had to reinstall my OS.

What happens when you reinstal XP OS with the cd that takes me to service pack 2 and I'm at SP3?

I finally found my OS reinstall CD, but it's waaaay above my comfort level... what I do now.

Frankly, if TurboTax is causing this much trouble, I would use another company as the income tax act.

Of course, you can reinstall Windows. It's a shame, if that's the only way to solve this problem. :-(
For later use, it is sometimes necessary to download the installation file, physically disconnect from the Internet, set up a clean boot (using msconfig startup diagnosis), reboot and THEN install the large program (and then undo the clean boot, reboot and re-connect to the Internet).
  • What happens on a HP recovery disk?

I have an old 2-4 years (?) Laptop HP Pavilion dv9000t CTO.  It crashed... big time!  I had to buy one (DVD) recovery disk online to get it going again.  It took days to get Vista and all my software to current standards (w / all the facilities and updates).  Then, I created a new set of two recovery disks to DVD - which I should have done in the first place!  My questions are these.  1. the disks that I created have all updates for Vista? 2. the discs also include software that I reinstalled?

    Hello:

The recovery discs you created are about the same thing you bought the recovery disks.

They did not have a picture of your machine after installing the updates and additional programs.

  • What happens when managed, segment size of memory the server has

    Hi all

Can anyone provide some information on what happens after reaching the size of memory managed server segment by... We are on 11.1.2.3. Our is a compact deployment with EAS, APS, RA, WA, web applications deployed on the single managed server work space. Our chunk size is set to 8 000 MB (8 GB) and I'm trying to understand what happens once the limit is reached, I tried searching for an answer in the forums of Weblogic, but did not find anything. So maybe if someone could shed some light on what would help a lot.

    Thank you
    Ted.

I expect the Dungeon of increasing size until the segment maximum + fresh General, the gc must retrieve the memory to be allocated again and is not released to the OS.

  • What happens when you specify multiple iterations of the parallel loop that you have processors?

I have an app that does the same things together up to 10 times for different material resources. For example, I have a list of 10 COM ports I want to send orders series. I want that they be executed as close to synchronous as possible, but up to 200 ms sync would be acceptable. Currently, I use a loop set up to 10 parallel iterations and assume that LabVIEW will juggle processors according to the needs, the iterations run it as simultaneously as possible. Experimentally, LabVIEW indeed seems to create 10 parallel loops, even when running on a computer with only 4 logical processors, otherwise you go 10-element inside the loop would only be not able to complete, right?

My question is, I'm doing something verboten with my number of iterations of the loop? According to the help of LabVIEW for loop iteration parallelism dialog box: "If you plan to distribute the VI on multiple computers, set number of instances of parallel loop generated equal to the maximum number of logical processors, you wait for one of these computers contain never.» Clearly I'm violating this opinion and yet it seems to work. My performance will essentially be the same as if I had 10 blocks of code in parallel on the block diagram?

"Reading'how many Threads don't LabVIEW allocates?" links to this page, it seems that, at worst, LabVIEW is hungry for thread and switching of threads between iterations, but my short demand slowing down enough to accommodate this suboptimal situation. At best, LabVIEW has allocated 4 threads per the enforcement system, so as long as I have at least 3 processors, there are at least more son than the parallelized loop iterations. It's all a bit confusing.

In this case (where you're interacting with the external hardware and have an appointment) there will be a delay of inheirant at each iteration.  THUS, "Oversubscibing" or by allowing the parallel proceedings as logical processors, actually improves performance by running another period of waiting during the iteration.  In fact, you're not "Violate the advice" of oversubscibing.  You use this technique correctly! Just may not have read about this.  See Esp PP 4

  • What happens when two parallel process call the same VI in an FPGA?

    Hi all

I was wondering, what happens when say two parallel processes call the same Subvi in an FPGA? I think that the FPGA would create two instances of the Subvi, not sure. Any point of view?

    Thank you

    Altras

I don't know if the FPGA adds any ordinary special, but in LabVIEW rule and in LabVIEW Real-time, a VI by default is not reentrant.  Therefore, a process that is called when it is already in use is blocked and must wait.

If the VI is reentrant, however, then you have two (or more) for the VI dataspaces, so that each can run independently.

Note, however, that you will not be able to use the recovery directly from the screen of the BIOS partition / boot and inside Windows 8. Your best bet is to make sure that you create your HP recovery disks prior to installing Windows 8.

  • What happened when RMAN 1 level 1 is running and start a 2nd

    Hello

I have some doubts on the RMAN backup,

    (1) what will happen when the first backup which is cumulative level 1 is running and second level 1 is launched.

    Example,

Each work day 4 h level 1 is running and not completed and 9 AM is started before complete 04:00, in this situation, what would happen if 04:00 will be shut down properly and 09:00 will start correctly or any error will be through?

    (2) what happens when level 1 is running and not completed when the use of level 0 is the beginning.

    (3) is 1 / my dismissal and have only a level 0 and other many cumulative level 1 filled with hard drive backup and it reached assigned size. How I can take more away level 1 and how can I take level 0. If I don't have enough memory.

When my redundancy policy is 1 so I would have 2 valid level 0 then then a level 0 backup will become obsolete and can delete.

    Help, please.

    (1) 2nd level 1 will take place at the same time.

    (2) level 0 will start and operate concurrently.

    (3) you need to extend the backup volume. If you can't do that let down backups, then do the 0 level.

  • vSAN Datastore - what happens when it meets?

I understand that vSAN aggregates all of your capacity of magnetic disk in a datastore fat big, what happens when it fills up it kill all running virtual machines, as it normally would?  If Yes is there anything that can be done to protect said: a virtual vCenter in this server?

    See you soon!

With VSAN a disc is an object. An object exists several components. A component is located on a disk. However, VSAN can have 1 VMDK which is an object consisting of several components. These components can cross physical disks, disk groups, and hosts even if necessary. So there is a lot of flexibility.

  • What happens when ClearTask is never called?

I use a NOR-6259 with the C API of Linux. What happens when a task program is interrupted and the ClearTask function is never called? Is it possible to query the driver for all running tasks, or better yet, is it possible I can assure that the device reset to a base state?

In particular in the development, it is nice to be able to simply CTRL-C or something like that to kill a program bug.

I don't think there is a good way to do it using our C API. If it was on a Windows machine, we have a program called MAX which will allow you to reset the device from there, but I don't think it is available on Linux. I think the only way is to reset the device.

  • Drive mapping: How can I get my external drive be mapped to F: (as he was once) rather than g: which is what happens when I turn on now.

How can I get my external drive be mapped to F: (as he was once) rather than g: which is what happens when I turn on now.  I tried to unplug and power, reboot etc.  There is no F: drive connected to the computer.

Go to start / Control Panel / administrative tools / computer management / "disk management and select external reader by clicking on it and then right-click on it and select change drive letter and paths."  It should show the letter currently assigned (G I guess).  Click the button change.  To the right will be a drop of drive letters box.  Go ahead and select F and click on OK.  That should do it. If F is not available, then it is used by the system for something else.  Check disk management to see if you can find it.  If it is not, and is not available in the list, I'm afraid, you will not be able to change until find you what is using drive letter F and remove it, or change it to something else.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try to understand what is using F or why it is not available.

    Good luck!
