Original title: wat is the advantage of allowing anti virus at the start of the section of msconfig

Hello

Thanks for the reply.

Antivirus analysis computers from virus threats and actively protects more than infection. By default, it starts as soon as you connect to your computer. However, if you want to decrease the time to start your computer, you can consider changing the configuration, Avg starts only when ordered. It may seem more convenient, but in the long run, it exposes your system at greater risk.

Your favorite anti-malware software should always be left in your boot manager. Disabling these programs means that your computer will be more set against the viruses and spyware that circulate on the Internet.

I hope this helps.

Thank you

    Hello

-Which antivirus program is installed on your computer?
-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?

Maybe your computer is infected with the virus that prevents you from turning on the anti-virus software.

I would recommend that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Put your computer in safe mode with network, download, install and run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if the problem is solved.

Note: You may lose data that is affected while eliminating malware.

    Step 2:

Check if you can activate the anti-virus ├a the State to clean up the boot program.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

  • Conficker Virus preventing internet access system, access to the anti-virus SW restore.

I have a computer infected by the Conficker virus, I think. My Mcafee anti-virus SW seem to be disabled, and I can't seem to him. I copied AVG anti-virus on him and ran, but nothing was found. I ran MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and registry found 2 problems. After this, I restarted and was able to access some web sites. I even got in the MS One Care page and tried to download the Scanner, but it was missing the button to start the download. I confirmed that was missing to try it on a working PC. MS Update are not accessible. System Restore are not accessible. I want to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner.  How can I download it to a flash drive and copy over my infected machine? Thank you. You shouldn't run both anti-virus at the same time in PC even what they will conflict and cause the error. If you have McAfee Original then contact support:

    http://www.McAfee.com/us/support/index.html

They could help you solve this problem. Also, restart your PC and press the F8 key repeatedly until Windows logo come. In the menumode safe mode with networking , then try to update McAfee and run full system scan.

    Hello

To me, it seems that you 3rd party antivirus software caused this strange and confusing problem the Vista OS installed.

In my eyes a simply, new installation of operating system using the Toshiba Recovery disk would solve this problem.

If you are able to start the operating system in safe mode and then try to remove your installed Antivirus software, then clean the registry and operating system using the free tool called CCLeaner and try to start the laptop again.

    Hi gettaclue2002,

    · What is the service pack installed on your computer?

    · You have another outside Norton Security software?

    Try the methods below:

    1. I would say that you stop and start the service on the computer Security Center.

    a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. in the list of Services (Local), click on Security Center and then click Properties.

Make sure that you stop and start the service, then check if the problem persists.

    2. you can also uninstall and reinstall Norton Security software, and check the results.

Link, please refer to: download and run the Norton removal tool to uninstall your Norton product:http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&ln=en_US

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Get the warning of the anti-virus program on Crack.exe as potentially dangerous program/spyware

    Hey, all!

It was only a few days, I started using Windows Vista. Recently, I installed the AVG anti-virus free 2011 on my PC. But, after installation, when I scanned the computer with him, it displays a warning that there is a (potentially harmful Prog) spyware, named Crack.exe is present on my PC. I scanned my computer for several times, but the result was the same.

Manually, I explored & found the file under C:\Windows\Crack\Crack.exe with 291 KB in size.

When I move my pointer of the mouse over it, it shows Vista OEM BIOS émulation Setup.

Now, please tell me, is this really a Spyware / any potentially harmful program or any Windows system file? I can remove it or I need to run my PC?

Please help me solve the problem. Thanks in advance!

  • I would like to know what is the best virus protection software

    original title: Best Antivirus.

    Hello.

I would like to know what is the best antivirus. specification as below.

load the use of fast, low memory, detection, quick update and quick scan. I want to know because I install Norton Antivirus 2010. But my father said to my office workload and slow computer.

Is - this Bit Defender, Norton, Avast, Avira, ESET Nod or what?

I don't care about the price.

    Hello

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leave the file system, Web,.
Operational network (Script and behavior are also recommended in Ver 6 +).

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 6.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->

Choice of PCmag editor - Prevx-
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • HP Pavilion 500-426nc: constant frost of HP Pavilion 500-426nc after the installation of the anti-virus

Hello, everyone, I really hope someone will give me a few minutes to address this point.

I started today with the installer of my new PC, a HP Pavilion 500 - 426nc AMD A10-7800 with Windows OS 8.1.

Everything went well and I was enjoying my new machine speed.

So I decided to install ESET Nod 32 antivirus. And since then, nothing I can do with my PC: it does not react to my orders, programs will not open and I can't turn it off even properly.

I read the internet and realized, that I have installed McAfee (or at least a trial version of it) and maybe that's the problem. I wanted to uninstall McAfee, but I don't know how to do it, because my computer does not respond to what I want it to do!

A few tips on how to get out of this frustrating situation, please?

I thank very you much for any help.

    Hello:

First of all, try to get in windows safe mode and uninstall the A / V software that you have installed.

Enter the mode safe mode with W8.1 is a bit difficult to start the PC, so please read the news to find out how to enter WSM.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-Windows-8-the-easy-way/

Now, if you can get into safe mode, and you can uninstall the A / V software you have installed through the control panel > programs menu, restart your machine and see if it is OK.

If so, read these instructions on how to safely remove any McAfee software.

    http://service.McAfee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?ID=TS101331

Finally... my 2 cents on the antivirus programs... why not just use the free A / V software (Windows Defender) that comes with W8.1?

You will need to turn it on by reading the info on the link below after uninstalling all installed previously 3rd part A / v software

    http://www.fixedbyvonnie.com/2013/10/how-to-turn-on-Windows-Defender-in-Windows-8-1/
