  I am trying to install my HP Photosmart C4750.

  I don't know what other information would you need out of one of these reports, but everything looks normal.

  I set for myself... I disabled my Norton Firewall during installation and it finds my printer and ran without any problems. Sorry I haven't posted this earlier, but I had a lot of scanning to do.

  Two of them are actually the exact same printer, perhaps with a different name because of the trading areas (countries, etc.)

  Try following these steps and let me know if that can help you:

  1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Never select and confirm by clicking the button turn off.

  2. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %temp%, and then click OK.

  3. Select any content in this folder by pressing the keys and the CTRL key, then click on remove.

  No worries, it is all a temporary folder and should be deleted as standard PC maintnance.
  4. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir%, and then click OK.
  5. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)

  7 launch the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /Unregister. in the Run dialog box and click OK.

  9 reboot your PC

  10. run the installation file and check all difference.

  11. open McAfee and reactivate McAfee for analysis in real-time.

• What is the cost of printing 4 x 6 at home using Photosmart printer?

  I have a Photosmart c410a, with whom I love-hate relationship.

  One thing I hate it's the cost of ink cartridge. HP 564 is supposed to get a return of 250 sheets. I'm sure they have a way of convoluted calculation of performance with prints and notes, because I am never able to print more than 30 photos of 4 x 6 with regular (not XL) set of cartridges HP 564.

  Now, a 4 x 6 print to the Walgreen's costs $.20 if you pick up. It is even less if get you it by post or order a lot. My calculation of back-of-the-envelope told me that printing photos at home using this c410a greedy ink at least not make economic sense. A profit to pay the premium to be able to print at home, however, is that sometimes color Walgreen is really off - on average, c410a produces much better colors - and if can fix immediately if the trace does not match your taste for some reason any.

  So, what is a Photosmart printer comes down to? Not a way to save cost visa-vis premium Walgreens/CVS but paying to be able to get a printed photo when you want?

  In fact, we had already installed the same driver package, you suggested.  But when we looked at the HP software installed in the Applications folder was not.  A day or two later, when we looked again the software HP was right there in the Applcations folder.

  You are correct that we have tried to install PhotoSmart package isn't what we need.  And you were also correct about the driver package, you suggested.  Scanning works now.  But still no successful printing.  The printer and the software indicate that the ink levels are full, but it fails to print.  I think that we need new ink cartridges.  We have tried to clean the heads, but it did not help.  No ink at all is being printed.

  If you have any other suggestions, we're all ears.

  I bought a C4750 and while trying to get the printer set up the LCD screen no longer starts and it is blocked with the HP logo and the bar running at the bottom.  We took a backwards thought it was broken, but now the other is having the same problem.  I don't know if it's just looking for a network that he will never find? or if it has a physical mistake? because I can't get the LCD up I don't know how to diagnose the problem?   I am pleased to announce that a FW update has been delivered and is available for download on the Photosmart C4700 so Series & Driver download page! You can access it by following this link.

  I installed the update on 2 different printers, and I could get together. I had to run the update multiple times on the 2nd printer, but it took finally. So, stick with it and I would like to know how it goes.

  Important: this solution applies only to units with serial # CN018xxxxx or later.

  Installation instructions

  Before downloading the Firmware update, please check that you have a working of the device software installation.

  Please note: If your printer is installed using a wireless network and the printer is unresponsive currently with the HP Logo, displayed on the front panel, please connect your printer to the computer via a USB cable before continuing.

  Installation steps
  1. download the update of the firmware to a suitable location on your system.
  2. double-click on the downloaded file to start the extraction and installation.
  3. in Windows Vista or Windows 7, you will be asked to enter administrator credentials if your login privileges have no administrator rights. If you are an administrator, you will be asked permission to continue the installation. Please select this option to continue installation.
  4. follow the instructions to complete the installation. If you see the screen following the end of the installation, your update firmware is complete. Press the 'OK' button to complete the update.

  Please note: The update should take less than 5 minutes to complete. In rare cases, this update process can freeze for long periods, display the screen below.

  If the update process seems to be frozen on the screen above for more than 5 minutes, go to step 6 below.

  6. turn off your printer by disconnecting the printer from the socket a/c.
