Orange is expected to replace it under warranty if you get one of their stores or call customer support over the weekend.

If you are unable to do at the time, it's pretty easy to replace, be yourself if you are comfortable with disassembly of your phone or to a repair shop or repair line.

  • LCD screen broken blackBerry Smartphones

The LCD screen is broken. Out of warranty and insurance. How can I fix? I do not want to fix it myself. I appreciate any help, thanks.

None that I know. But the replacement of the screen is not that complicated, as long as you get the right part and install it correctly. Any cell phone repair shop should be able to do.

You can also take in your carrier and they can get it fixed for you, but they charge generally more than a centre of independent repair. But again, you can take in and ask them a quote and they can let you know.

Otherwise, just do a Google search for "BlackBerry repair" in your city, and it must identify a nearby repair shop. And do not hesitate to ask them guarantees, etc. Some may offer a 30 day guarantee on their work, or so on.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones click pre-installed applications - rather than startup app, 'reinstall' only option every time.

I installed (and reinstalled) a couple of applications. However, whenever I go to click on one of them, the only option I get is to reinstall. I was able to launch each application once or two at the start, but were never able to launch an any of them again. For example, Facebook. I was able to use it twice. Now, whenever I click on it, I get only the option "Reinstall". I reinstalled several times each she and some other applications. The phone restarts. I click on the application... voila! The only option is to reinstall.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I looked through previous messages and did not find any thread on this topic.

Are you clicking on them in Application Center?  Who INSTALLS them.  If you want to OPEN them, go to the Applications folder - they should be there if you installed them.  HTH!

  • Broken blackBerry Smartphones phones worried! want to know what's wrong!

Hi, I have the curve8520 on tmobile and recently, I downloaded an application called KIK MESSENGER, as everyone was furious on this subject and then everyone says it could be a virus or it hacks in your phone, so I removed it. Thoough now my screen went blank (white) and turns off and the boy continues flashing red light (certainly not dead like a load n when it cut) this possbly would be the app this or my phone is broke?

It is possible that there was a software problem. Try to reload the operating system by following the steps in the following link:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/device-software-for-BlackBerry/how-to-reload-your-operating-S...

If your computer cannot see your phone, don't worry. Let me know and I'll give the additional steps to turn it on.

Good luck and keep me posted!

  • Version 5.0.0 of my handset broken blackBerry Smartphones

Director of office informed me that there is an update available, so I opted to go ahead with it.

5.0.0.41 version 1 installed successfully and all data has been restored.

Phone does everything except receive incoming text - voice, e-mail work correctly.

Vodafone offered the demotion to version 4, so I got 4.4.6.1.310 by following the links to the website of Vodafone.

Still no incoming text, more time to talk with Vodafone not conclude that there is a problem with the handset.

Their third level support say it's a return to base "to zapping.

I would be grateful for any suggestions of something to try out before I give up and we get another handset.

    Update...

We have a phone that seems to work. It was not simple, however.

Both the original and the new phone working all both OK.

The problem is transferred to the new after using Desktop Manager to do a full restore.  I did a selective restore of the calendar, book messages and email address and everything seems to work as it should.  Except e-mail send / receive, but I don't know if it's a problem of Vodafone.

The only oddity I can think is that the SMS database contains more than 2,500 messages.

Interestingly, ongoing execution 5.0.0.41 1 of the new phone, the same 5.0.0 install which was at the heart of the original problem.

    Desktop Manager is 5.0.1.18

Is there an easy way to inject it on RIM?  I happily offer the backup data file if they want.

    * Edited to add - the problem of e-mail resulted by the restoration of the old email database, I have everything works as it should.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 9320 SMS is not received

Recently (for the last month or almost) my curve blackberry 9320 received no texts, I do not think a lot that I use my BBM more than I text so I just thought that people were not to contact me, but then I asked someone text me, I saw that they sent and he had delivered, but my phone has never notified me of the received message I went into the folder of text messages, and nothing is found, the text I had just been sent, I can send text easily and they are delivered successfully to others but I can not just receive texts, I even texted me (Sad I know), but the phone said they had delivered but I never received them I tried battery pull, pull out my card sim for a while (30 minutes) and then to restart my phone, nothing... It's weird because I've never had this problem before.

I contacted my service provider and this has baffled them also because they could not help and did not know what it is, has anyone here ever had this problem?

  • Backup of Keper of password of blackBerry Smartphones

After an upgrade of the disastrous software and finally raise my 9700 "BOLD" up and running (thanks J S) when my 9700 connected to my desktop software to installed the backup information all except my passwords have been loaded.  I use Windows Vista and Microsoft Office/Outlook for my backups.  Where are my passwords and how do I load into my 9700?

    1. Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer.
    2. In the BlackBerry Desktop Software, click device > restore.
    3. Select a backup file that contains the data you want to restore.
    4. Do one of the following:
      • To restore all data on your BlackBerry smartphone, click full restore
      • To select the data you want to restore, click Custom restore. Select the check box next to the type of data you want to restore
  • Scroll of blackBerry Smartphones are becoming very difficult to "BOLD" (with a pad, not a scroll wheel)

    Hello

Scrolling became very difficult in my "BOLD", but it has a pad, not a scroll wheel, so I can't follow the spoken wheel and push solution previously in these forums.

The symptoms are that it is difficult to get the cursor to move to the left or to the right or upwards or downwards, sometimes that it moves more easily than other times, but never as easy as it was until last week. What often happens is that I end up pressingteh pad too hard trying getting the top of the page to save the movement and thus itreads as a click instead.

I tried to clean the buffer, cleaning of my thumb or finger, battery-out-restarted "BOLD" of countless times, tried with my fingers wet and dry...

It seems that she has changed after an update has been downloaded, but maybe it's just my perception.

In any case, what could be the problem and what is the solution please?

  • BlackBerry® Smartphones email does not not on 9700

    Hello

Hoping someone can help me here.

I'm trying to fix Bold 9700 from my mother-in-law.  I know that I had this same problem with my 9700 old a few years ago, but don't remember how I fixed it.

Its BB was working fine, then emails came only sporadically.  She called Rogers, technical support and they told him to do a full restore.  After the full restoration, she has absolutely no email and when you click on the e-mail configuration in the installation section it goes absolutely nowhere... almost as if it has never been activated.

    I tried

-a reload of the operating system available (same problem)

-a return of service books (an email comes through recorded everything, but then nothing else comes through)

All the other features of the phone seem to work perfectly.  The person of Rogers told him that the problem was because the phone is old and it's broken and won't work anymore.  I do not subscribe to this belief and am sure that we can get it up and going again for her.

So can offer help here on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

BaseballLady (currently sporting a 9790 and anxiously the BB10!)

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have tried a lot of things... Here's a little more perhaps.

You may want to consider using BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe there is able to... sometimes a clean WIPE of this kind, followed by the reload of the operating system, can help.

You can also try this procedure might limit the specific causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

In addition, after each attempt reloading, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

Good luck and let us know!
