When I 'restore down' a folder it blinks and flashes

When I try to 'restore down' another folder on my desktop in Windows 7 Professional, it rolls back down, but then freezes and start lit or flashing.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Yes, it helps, thanks.  You say that to happen with "a particular file.  What is particular folder?  This could be a virus or malware, but it would be useful to know if a particular application only and that this application is.

If it's a virus or a damaged system file, here are some things you can do.

Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

-

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

-

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

`

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and it puts regular periodic updates.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Confused about when we should create the folder streams\definst and when media folder

    Hello

    Tutorial says:

Create a new folder named AudioStreams to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications.

Open the AudioStreams folder and add a new folder named streams.

Inside this folder, place a new folder named _definst_ and copy the four audio files in the exercise in the _definst_ folder.

I am confused when should we create definst folder and when folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\live\media?

    Thank you.

Let me explain - first 'live' has no 'media' my default - only "VOD" application folder. "media" folder is nothing but VirtualDirectory adjustment level Application.xml to tell FMS, so choose the multimedia files in folder "media".

By default, if you create your own simple application - you need create a "flow/_definst_" as its default path where the streams would be get created or sought - when you connect to "_definst_" or when you specify the instance name in your connection URI.

You use 'media' or indeed any folder - if you have preconfigured VirtualDirectory for your application.

  • I get no option restore when I hold down the cmd key

I have a mac mini with a 2.53 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB two HD (a server) end of 2009. I bought the mac mini 2nd hand and restored with a copy of my mac book pro 2010 running El Capitan. I restored it by pressing the command and r after that restart and select the external hard drive with time machine copy of my macbook pro.

I noticed that the mac mini is extremely slow compared to my macbook pro, which has similar features.  I also noticed that there is no network preferences panel and there are other subwindows preferences (icloud, internet accounts and startup disk) that does not open.

For these reasons, I tried to restore the mini with copy cloned my MacBook when it was running Yosemite, but when I restart and hold down command & r, I don't get food options and it goes directly to the login screen. I tried with the time machine, a cloned HD backup but I don't get any restore option for either.

When I try to open the startup disk, which does not either. I seem to be stuck now with a very slow machine and no option to restore to factory settings or my older OS of Yosemite.

My apologies for the long post, but I am confused as to how to proceed and would appreciate any help.

Erase the hard drive then install Snow Leopard from the DVD retail. The update 10.6.8 download installer of El Capitan of the App Store, click the install button after the download is complete and the installation program is started on your computer.

    Questions 1)

Not because the LRDATA file is fair previews, what LR displays on your screen for a faster loading of the image and will be recreated. The previews only stored in the folder LRDATA is the basic overview created at time of importation for the display of thumbnails and previews of 1:1 for images that you have actually looked in the Loupe View or I guess that appears in the develop module.

He get all the data to create the image themselves file extracts.

If you have several files on your system that have pictures in them and you select one of them that you have not looked at in a while, you will notice LR creation of previews for these images, there will be 3 white dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It's LR creation of previews for the thumbnail view. If you scroll quickly in the grid view, you'll notice a few thumbnails of images are gray, until you stop scrolling, then the upper left tile will come in clear view and the white dots will appear on the other images. It's LR creating previews for those of other images. Once LR created the preview of thumbnails that are on your screen, white spot will disappear. If you scroll down again, you will see more white dots

If you switch to another folder that LR begins again create preview images in this folder. The total number of previews created and stored based on caching of the preview you have in the catalog settings dialog in the management of the files tab.

If not, you need not the LR Previews.lrdata folder. Whenever LR is not very good this folder with a catalog he recreates it to store previews in.

  • How to resize my screen? I do not see the menu f or at the bottom of web pages unless I have 'restore down' for a smaller size of the window.

I do not see the menu f or at the bottom of web pages unless I have 'restore down' for a smaller size of the window.

The problem is when you maximize the window - it is even bigger than the available surface? Or the problem is that normal windows are always too big and have to manually resize?

  • Firefox stuck as maximized, "restore down" minimizes the window

Firefox window is stuck as enlarged, the restore down does not work correctly.

"restore down" minimizes the window & it won't then return to the screen unless I right click on it on the task bar & then click maximize.

Button reduce works as it should and the window can be restored (maximize) clicking on Firefox in the taskbar.

When it happened first, I closed Firefox & restarted Windows (Vista). This has not solved the problem

This is caused by Firefox 'restoration' as a small window "off screen" for some reason any. This bug has existed for a while, but for some reason some has never been properly fixed. Restarts without worrying won't fix because it maintains simply restore the window off screen ever time.

The work around is to select the window in the task bar, click on 'move' and then press an arrow key. This will bring the window on the screen where it can be relative to the size, most of the time that he wouldn't do it again, it seems to happen more often for me during a restore, but it is a sporadic, so I'm not sure what makes.

When I click Restore down the window to the upper-left corner of the screen. I can move it back to the center of the screen, but after you close and then reopen, he did the same thing all over again.

Hi, just found something that worked for me - under windows 7. It happened with Outlook. In any case, this is what has worked

I use the taskbar of "small icons" and cen you get the properties after the right click on the taskbar by selecting Propertis-> the taskbar.

    Here's what I did:

    (1) to start the application in question

    (2) If you see nothing except the icon on the start bar, click on this until you see the outline of the app

    (3) move the mouse on it and right click. You will see a pop-up with the posibility of "Restoration", move, size, reduce, enlarge Click on the size!

At this point your mouse moves to the middle of the screen. Now... do nothing except press the arrow keys, up, down, right, left. Any will do. Suddenly the application appears.

This problem seems to come from a window somehow "resized" in a pixel, or even zero pixel or perhaps only zero pixels high.

    For me... it worked. Bye!

    Hello Philipwk,

Thank you for your message.  Please provide comments to a few questions so that we can better help you get your problem solved.
    1. are there recent changes made to your system, namely the hardware or the software?
2 How long present this problem?
Here are two methods to try, please try in order.  If a system restore fix the problem, do not perform step 2.
    Step 1:
Run a system restore to before that was the problem.  Please click the link below to get instructions from system restore.
    Step 2:
Create and test the new user profile.
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
Double-click 'Users and groups' > below, select "users".
In the pane, right click on the space empty and select 'new user '.
Enter the identification information you will retain and select OK
Right-click the user account that you just created, and then select "Properties".
Select the tab "member of" > click on "add".
Type Administrators in the field and select "check name".
Once administrators is added, click OK
Disconnect and connect again your new account, opening pictures with your new trial account.  You can even browse your other photo folder by going to the following location:
    c:\Documents and Settings\ (user account) \My Documents\My images
If it works, your profile has been altered somehow.  You can then start to copy your data from your old profile to it.
Please let us know if it did or did not work for you.

I reciently reinstalled windows and now the fence, restore down and minimize buttons are not mixed together. they are indervidual buttons. Have all the updates and service pack installed.

I saw the screen shot, I think that Aero is disabled, or the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service is disabled or stopped. Try to run the troubleshooter 'display the Aero effects. " And when firstly, you had the drivers that do NOT support Aero and then updates, Windows does NOT automatically update the settings. You must recaulculate the computer for Aero Performance Index is enabled.

Or you can see more help on this page, which contains explanations of the Aero and a link to a Web page for downlading an application which solves the problems.

When windows update is running on my machine (and updates), my screen goes down to 1024 x 768.  I have a HD card of ATI all-in - Wonder and an Acer X203H LCD with DVI connection.  If I use system restore to go back, I can get higher resolutions, but Windows does its thing and I'm back at low resolution.  I can't change the settings manually as 1024 watch as the highest res available to the general public when this happens.  There must be some weird conflicts.  I tried to update the drivers, that made no difference.  Is there a setting Aero or the conflict at stake here?  In the past, I've had trouble with a display of balnk and I had to go back to the 2008 version of the driver to get things to work.  From there, whenever I update, I can keep high resolution, but after the last windows update (security of IE8 and much smaller pack that was released on March 28-30), it dates back to 1024 x 768 again.  Control Panel and catalyst control the two show that as more high resolution available for refresh rate. Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Vista will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
