  As mentioned, by changing the VOB files, the data in the chapter are probably damaged. This can be confirmed by putting in a retail DVD in the drive and play directly from the DVD.

  I googled the question of fun and learned you can hit CTRL + Alt + an arrow key to change the direction of the display on the monitor.  Pressing on the same new keys cancels the function.  I must have accidentally done to create the mess in the first place.

  I've done the same thing if I had rebooted the system.

  I have a laptop running Vista professional that I used to connect (DSL) to a desktop computer using remote desktop (XP) work.  Several months ago, I started noticing a response delayed when typing using the SHIFT key. For example my name, Garth, might get typed Garth, the text could (for example) get typed as 9 example0 and so on.
