whenever I try to use the windows fax and scan, I have this message:

whenever I try to use windows fax and scan, I have this message: Windows fax and scan cannot access your documents folder. Please, make sure that windows fax and scan can access this folder. How I do that?

Hi Mohamed

Thanks for your posting in the Microsoft community

You can check if you have my documents in C:\Users\ (username) \My documents correct location.
If the problem persists, you can deactivate and then activate Windows Fax and consolidated expansion of print and Document services from the windows on or off check and option features if this solves the problem.

You will need to disable the function, and then click OK. Now open Windows Fax and Scanand check. Yet once activate the Windows Fax and Scan and check if you experience the same problem.

See the link below to display the window for the deactivation and activation windows fax and scan under Print and Document services and check option.

  • remove 1 fax number from outlook to use the Windows fax and scan

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 operating system.  I try to use Windows Fax and Scan to send a fax using my Outlook address book fax numbers.  When I enter the phone number in Outlook it shows as (281) 555-1212.  However, it converts the number of + 1 for each entry, regardless of how I implemented the rules of numbering or not.  Then when I try to fax, I don't need + 1 to dial numbers, only the area code and the number.  I can't do the 1 = go away.  If I dial the number directly in the Fax Wizard, and then it composes correctly, but when pulling starting from Outlook address book that's messed up.

Basically, I don't have the + 1 to dial local numbers.  Only the 10 digits.  When I get a fax in Outlook number, it automatically formats it with the front 1.  I found an article online that said that if I put a comma before the number to 10 digits, it forces the computer to dial only the numbers that I entered.  It works fine when I do that, then my problem is solved.  Thanks for responding.

When I use the Windows Fax and Scan, I'm trying to scan a document and then save it as a PDF file.  What happens is when I save it, it opens Adope Photo Shop and will not let me save it as a PDF.  How can I scan a document and then save it as a PDF in Windows 7.0?

If you have Word 2007 or later, you can scan it, then save it as a PDF. Works fine for me. I have a Canon LIDE 100 scanner, I bought for $50, which will also scan directly to PDF.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Unable to set up account, get error in Windows Fax and Scan

I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed, update of Vista home Premium. I've never used the Windows Fax and Scan until today. When I went to set up a Fax account this error in popup:

An error has occurred. Try the operation again later or contact your administrator.

I am the only user & administrator of this PC.

I saw a post on the forum Vista, I tried but still have not been able to solve this problem. Help, please.

    Hello

I tried the suggested method of deletion of registry keys, but it doesn't work on my laptop Win 7 Prof 32 bit with the built-in fax modem.

The fax service works only when I connect the the domain administrator account, even if I put my user account in domain with administrator rights. Before my network has been migrated to Win 2003 Server Win 2008 Server, the fax service worked very well for my domain user account, then the problem could be due to a setting in group policy by default under Win 2008 Server?

Looking forward to responses. Thank you.

Managed to solve today after I do a right-click on WFS, go into properties, Security tab, button "Advanced", then "Change permissions" for my special user for total control account. Open WFS again and click new fax to set up a new Fax account and all went well.

  • Scanning multiple pages with Windows Fax and Scan

I can't understand how to scan multiple pages in a document on Windows 7 using the Windows Fax and Scan program. Using the same printer (Canon MX300), I can scan in several pages in a single file on my old XP using Windows Office Document Imaging. It works very well. I tried to download this program on my Windows 7 computer and I can scan, but the pages are blank! Can someone help me get this figured out?

MODI is part of the office and requires the rest of the Office to be there. You can also use a PDF as PDF-Xchange Viewer writer to import your pages scanned in a multipage. PDF of the file and send it by fax.

  • Problem with Windows Fax and Scan.

I have a Canon MG5420 and Win7 64-bit.  All of a sudden, the Office does not see the scanner.  The print function continues to operate correctly.  Problem occurs regardless of USB or WiFi connection.  The only change in my system is a migration towards Office365.  Other than that, no change. I tried all the basics: refreshed drivers, uninstalled the printer and re-installed.  Any thoughts on what could be the cause?  I get the message error is "No. scanners were detected.  The utility Scan Canon IJ can see the scanner, but I prefer to use the Windows fax and scan.  Any ideas?

Unfortunately his is possible because there are different drivers and stacks of driver for the printer and the component the same multifunction device installed on the client computer scanner. In a case when the right printer driver is installed and available from the scanner driver may be missing or may be incompatible with Windows Fax and Scan requires the parser must be WIA 2.0 compatible, a TWAIN compatible scanner only for example will not work with this app).
