  Usually, Photos should you cannot import duplicates. It will give a warning if you try to import an exact replica.  You are importing different versions of the same photos?

  Photos has no tools to search for duplicates. You would need a third party program to analyze the library of Photos of duplicates.

  Since upgrading my iPhone 5s IOS 9.3.5 yesterday, I see more the camera of the iPhone as a device in Windows.  Therefore, with this update of IOS, I do find a direct way to upload my pictures on my PC.  Is there a way to download my photos on my PC without having to download them to iCloud?  My PC is Windows 7 Pro (64 bit).

  What I've always done, is to download my photos directly on my PC by using the option to remove the iPhone with the download.  I really want to continue to do so!

  Be frugal with repair. Whenever you repair library, transfer it to iCloud will start again.

  You have videos in addition to the photos? These will be displayed as "components" when downloading.

  While using Aperture, have you they rejected pictures?  Rejected photos will be hidden in the pictures and do not present in the photo display. Have you checked the hidden album?

  Also, did you shoot RAW and JPEG pairs? They will be stacked in Photos and account like a photo, but when the download will be counted as two.

  It is my goal to keep photos sorted by chronological order in projects (terminology of the opening). I rarely work with individual photos. When I do I can crop or use the alternative 'effects' in the aperture settings. No more than that.

  I also want to keep the settings that I made earlier when I move my library to open in the other program.

  My library contains 85 000 photos. I use not RAW. The photos are jpg

  When I've made an adjustment, I am willing to go against the original. I is not need to return to the original. The created version is welcome to be the new "original".

  The transition to keep all changes, keywords, your albums.

  The projects will be treated differently. Pictures uses 'moments' as the structure of the core library. Each photo and all of its versions will be in one a time, just like the aperture projects.    But while you could move photos between projects in Aperture and name projects, the moments are created automatically.  Photos will automatically collect all the photos taken at the same time in the same place in an instant, and related moments will be a collection. All collections in the same year will be collected in a view of the year.

  This will give you a completely automatic chronological view of your photos.  You can create albums and folders of the albums, as the smart albums.

  Basically, you migrate the Aperture library by dragging the library on the Photos icon in the Dock.

  Your photos are not 'in' Windows Photo Gallery... it's simply a viewer.

  Photos are probably stored in your pictures folder. If you
  Right-click on a photo in the photo library and choose... "Open file location".
  You can find the folder that the file is saved in.

  It would be a great idea to save 'all' your photos and other
  personal files on removable media. CD, DVD, memory card.
  Flash drive, external hard drive, etc... before you put in your
  Operating system.

  If your version of the photo gallery has the possibility of returning to undo
  editing... copy you the pictures of the unreleased original
  images are stored in the following folder: (save those too)

  Print 4/page, go to Edition > Print > Picture package (#4 drop-down menu)

  There is a curious problem happening with my Mac Air with pics 1.1 and el Capitan OSX: I have a long backup of photos upwards since 2002 up to today and always followed the improvements suggested Apple, including iPhoto migration into Photos some time ago.

  Now, I realized that a specific set of photos taken in 2014-2015, with an Iphone 5 and imported from a Canon EOS digital camera seems to be there, but is missisng. I mean, they appear in the photo files, have all visible metadata, but the placeholder for the image itself is empty. You can mark them as Favorites, see the metadata of each of them, include them in a slideshow, but they are single spaces. And if you try to export, Photo said that they are not there.

  There are a lot of precious moments of trips that won't again in these photos, and I'm struggling with the idea of losing it for always.  Anyone know the trick to get back them? I have TIme Machine backups since about 2013, but since I don't know when it happened, I can't go back all my stuff for 2014 just to retrieve those pictures. I use the machine to my daily work...

  You can update the pictures of the current 1.5 version.

  If you have enabled iCloud photo library, they could not synced to your computer. They sow upward when you double-click one of these images to see full resolution?

  You can also try to repair your library by pressing Option + command keys.
