Y_BrownThis does not happen on my computers. Try to download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and see if that makes a difference. I also recommend the safe boot and checking the virus. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.
