Why do I see just a green screen when I try to watch a video?

I've had my Toshiba laptop (that I bought new) for almost a year with no problems and even today, whenever I try to watch a video on a Web site, the display screen will go completely green. The sound is still working but no PIC. just green. For videos, I downloaded it, I checked for viruses (I did a full scan of this morning - which is what the problem is?), but the results have been very good. I'm bummed my laptop can be give @ the one year mark. All solutions, a lay person can understand? Thank you!

  • Satellite A200-10Z (PSAE0E) - blue screen when I try to play the video

    Hey Geeks,

I have a serious problem; I use my laptop for the last 3 years with no problems, but since yesterday, it the BSOD every time you try to play flash videos or youtube. I tried to update the version of adobe flash after unstalling the existing drive flash but when even the reason persisted. Finally, I reinstalled the 32-bit version of Windows Vista from the recovery of the product back up drive after I lost all my data, guess what the problem has not disappeared. I can't play youtube videos?

I think it's maybe a problem with the BIOS update, this could be a corrupt problem display driver or should I think that there is a hardware problem as such. Is the existing graphics card Mobile Intel (r) Express Chipset family 945GM. I tried to update the BIOS from the Toshiba support site, but there is no available for Satellite A200-10Z update. So point is should I try to reinstall the operating system once more, or should I be given the laptop to a service center to check any malfunction of the equipment.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

Generally speaking, it is not easy to say why this happens, but if you have already tried a restore of the Toshiba Recovery disk system and the problem still exists, it looks like more of a hardware malfunction. The recovery disk contains a pre-tested picture to factory settings, so everything should work correctly in the case otherwise it seems to be a hardware problem.

But he s strange why this happens only with videos. What you might try before contacting an authorized service provider is updated the display driver. Have a look at the Toshiba website, if a newer version is available for your laptop.

    Good luck! :)

  • screen goes black when you try to Watch youtube videos

Hi, can anyone help. I can't watch the videos on youtube, the screen goes black and the computer freezers. I have a HP DV6, Windows 7

    Hello

Still does not, now, the video and sound will play for about 2 seconds then the screen turns white with vertical stripes. He also freezers the computer completely

Hi, thanks for your help, but this is how I fixed it. Hope this helps others

However, to do this: go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash and do a RIGHT CLICK on the logo that is being charged. THEN: Navigate down until "settings", click it, and you should have the choice: "disable hardware acceleration". NOTE: If you do NOT have this choice, study the icons down quickly: on MY screen, the left-most is an icon that looks like a video monitor: click on it and give you the opportunity to "disable hardware acceleration".

It works, if you can get it done before you get a BSOD! AND do not take the life of your computer in your hands by updating your video drivers. I do not really recommend doing that!

  • Black screen when you try to play a video rental

HI all, I rented a movie from iTunes and I got everything updated iTunes and OsX but whenever I'm trying to play the screen is all black and the movie will not play. I can see screen grab when I go to the chapters, but could not get anything to play. I tried for authorizing and reauthorizing my computer - I have a MacBook Air 11 '' end 2013.

abyone else has this problem and have you found a solution for this?

Same question.  I recently bought a new MacBook Pro & today is the first time I tried to watch a movie in iTunes.  Purchased or rented movies will play.  I, too, only have a black screen with only the controls (rewind, pause, reading, etc) visible.  No chapters listed, just the cover of the movie at the top + names of administrators.  Was on the phone with Apple Care for 2 hours and they could not understand.

When the Senior Adviser, I was speaking with iTunes contacted for credit, told him they were aware of the problem and working on it.  He said that there is a problem with some Macs, but not other Apple devices.

Strange that iTunes would have not contacted Apple Care technical support to let them know about the issue.  Also, before I spoke with the Chief Adviser, I was talking with someone else to Apple Care, who had also made contact with iTunes to try to resolve the problem by return the video rental for me and it has not been said on the issue.

It was about 3 hours ago.

Advise senior said that she would send me a mail with my # case and contact information so I could follow, but she didn't.  She took my phone #, so if all goes well, she will call to let me know when the problem is solved (not holding my breath however).

  • When I try to watch a video that is ridged, so I don't see it.

Videos of poor quality or bad video player

It depends on your phone. What model and version of Android?

  • Why my computer does not delay when I try to watch the video again? It's a constant start and stop and buffering?

I get a lot of golf maaterials and lesson over the internet.  It became a real pain and a problem for me to keep up with instructions.  When I received instruction to internet and start to play the video it winds and winds and play them for a few seconds then start and stop throughout the presentation.  What can I do to fix this problem?

If several computers are using the internet at the same time, it might slow down the video stream on a computer (laptop or desktop).

Or your internet connection is simply not enough fast to stream the videos you want to watch. There are several different speeds for DSL, so the speed increase may help.

When I download a wmv on an internet site and then play through the Player Windows Media, I get the audio but the video is just a green screen Uni.  I was told that the media player can miss a card.

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
    2. are you able to play videos other than video .wmv successfully?
    3. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
I suggest you to check if the hardware acceleration of the display device setting is too high.
    a. Click Start, click Run, type desk.cpl and then click OK.

    b. click on the settings tab and then click Advanced.

    c. click the Troubleshooting tab, and then move the hardware acceleration to none.

    e. If the problem is resolved after you move the slider hardware acceleration to none, contact the manufacturer of the graphics adapter driver to determine if there is an update that resolves this specific problem.

    Method 2
The required codec is missing or damaged. If the problem occurs when you use a .wmv file, download or reinstall the latest version of Windows Media Player. If you use an earlier version of Windows Media Player, upgrade to the current version of Windows Media Player for your operating system.
