• Skype duplicate contacts and merge Outlook Contacts

  Skype has just decided to synchronize my Skype contacts with my Outlook contacts, resulting in a gigantic mess. I would like to keep these two separate worlds, although there may be few people on both lists. Reason is that I consider my Outlook Contacts more private - only people close belongs there. So I use my Skype account in labor, of course, different sets of contacts.

  (I don't really know if this is the question on the side of Skype or Microsoft - I see redundancy developing UWP Skype app, which could be the source of this issue; in any case, please fill bug for this issue)

  After some time trying to figure out what is the problem and how to fix it, I simply decided to untie MSA of Skype... Indeed, on the side of Skype it was done immediately, unfortunately it took Oultook.com almost a week to stop showing me the Skype contacts.

  Interesting that the math does not match the quantity of contacts. But the more difficult answer is that your contacts are in the Local storage, which is actually the most difficult to work with. Use of a source of OTA (for example, Hotmail, Google, etc.) allows much more robust handling of the contact items themselves. I have my data under control on Outlook.com and integrated in my PRIVATE, 3 devices BB10, a PlayBook, and two instances of MS Outlook (a MAC, a Win10)... the changes I do anywhere are dutifully and automatically replicated on all the other places. In addition, my data is protected... None of these interfaces can completely (Crash and Burn) CAB without any loss of data whatsoever. But, it's my choice of operating condition, not yours.

  I do not remember if you use the operating system had this problem or not, but there were 3 versions more released by BB since, with some bugfixes and improvements they may contain. But, even once, since you chose to keep your 'Local' data, many remedies won't be available as they will need to wipe the device and/or reload the OS cleanly, with a fresh install of everything (for example, no backup/restore). With local contacts, it's a much bigger challenge.

  As a result, we end up with less 'harmful' remedies, which I hope will solve your situation. Reference:

  There are likely more KB articles that may be useful, but you can search KB database as well as anyone.

  If nothing is useful, then the next steps, I think will be more destructive data... and so you will need to prepare by preserving your data on your device. Maybe sync via USB/LINK with Outlook? Or perform a backup via the LINK and then extract (3rd part of PC Tools) the data so that you can be sure it's safe? Of course if you need to go to all that trouble, then it might be just as well to migrate you to the solution of the OTA, I noted above, as that would alleviate the problem of loss of data completely as you proceed through different remedies.

• How to open thunderbird add on 'Duplicate Contact Manager' since there is no entry icon or menu for it.

  I downloaded and installed the "Duplicate Contact Manager" for Thunderbird, and restart Thunderbird. I spent half an hour looking for 'Duplicate Contact Manager' in Thunderbird. There is no icon anywhere for it. It is not listed in any menu of Thunderbird, or the main menu, not the Contact menu. Of course, I'm the only person in the world with this problem as no one else has a problem using Add on. What gives?

  You could ask the author to add it on. Support for Add ons are the responsibility of the author.

• Contacts app on iPad from IOS 9 air crash

  Since IOS 9 contacts app starts for a second then shows contacts and then immediately disappears. After upgrading to iOS 9.3.3 no change. Restart the iPad does not help.

  App is open programms. Close the program and start don't help once again.

  Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. After reading your post, I understand that your app is not open very long - it will close unexpectedly after only a few seconds. I see as you have updated your iOS, force to leave the app and restart your iPad, but none of these steps have fixed the problem for you. I rely on access to my Contacts app every day, so I definitely want to make sure yours is accessible!

  You already crossed some great troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the problem, so my recommendation here is the following. Each of these steps one to try in time and test after each is finished.

  1. Reset all the settings on your iPad under settings > general > reset > reset all settings. This removes any of your data, but it will return customizable settings (such as your background screen and display brightness, alert sounds and the Date and time settings) to the factory settings. It will also remove any Wi - Fi networks and saved passwords and delete all APN or VPN parameters used previously.
  2. Back up your iPad using iCloud or iTunes, and then restore the iPad to factory settings. If you don't know how to back up your iPad, the article below will guide you through the two iCloud and iTunes. Choose the option that suits you best.

• Contacts app - cannot add a group contact

  Contacts app needs a bit of love programmer.

  I am trying to create a new group of contacts (* no * a "Smart group").

  I created the (file-> new group) group.  Tried to created in the section of the sidebar and "on my Mac" iCloud Same behavior.

  I select "All Contacts" and enter a keyword to search for. If the contact is not in the Contacts, but is in the Mail, you * must * "Add to Contacts" entry allows you to drag the contact into a group.

  Contact groups can be quite practical, and I understand your message you are having a little trouble to create yours--you cannot drag contacts you want in the Group shortly after. I know it's important to be able to create these groups with all you need, and I have a few steps, we can try troubleshooting.

  1. Exit the Contacts App. Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard. While now Shift, re - open Contacts. Try to add to your group again.
  2. Restart your Mac. Click on the menu  Apple in the upper left of your screen, then select "Restart" in the menu dropdown. When the computer is back on, Contacts open and try to add to your group again.

  Looks like your Contacts application launches only for a split second, then closes. I'd leave the Contacts app specifically with the following steps:

  Force an app to close the iOS

  1. press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used.
  2. slide to the left to find the application you want to close.
  3. push upward on the overview of the application to close.

  When you have done that reboot the device and test again the question:

  iOS: switch off and on (restart) and reset

  I want to add an app that "merges" my contacts automatically or allows me to do. For example, a LinkedIn or Facebook entry merged with my contact company so I have only one of each person. I've tried a couple and they don't really cut it.

  You know you can do it with the stock Contact app, right?

  Navigate to one of the contacts to merge > Menu > Edit > Menu > join > select contact to merge > save.
