Why Firefox (ONLY) does not require approval (Microsoft user account control) to work with Windows 7?

The 'pop-up' Microsoft Security window began to show two days ago, whenever I start Firefox. No other program does require this authorization. There has been NO change to the computer (hardware or software).

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

  • Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
  • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected

Also check the firefox.exe program properties in the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) folder.

I can't stop FF to require that the dialog box controls user account until it loads. I uninstalled and reinstalled a clean copy, what worked the first time and then restored the UAC dialog on subsequent startups. It's incredibly annoying. It's never happened before with FF. How to stop this behavior? I'll stop using the Goner program if it cannot be repaired.

  • How do you get a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro keyboard work with Windows 7?

How do you get a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro keyboard work with Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 620? I got an adapter so it connected to the USB port, but the computer does not recognize it.

    Hello

It seems to be that the driver is not compatible with Windows 7, so I suggest you to download and install the keyboard driver in Windows 7 by choosing the level of compatibility of Windows XP:

  • Why NEITHER-ICU does not require licensing OR?

    Hello

I'm running into some problems of deployment of a CVI application that uses OR-ICU libraries.  The application works well on my development computer.  I create an installer that includes the runtime of CVI and NOR-USI 1.9.0 and install my application on a new system that is running Windows XP.  In my application when I try to call DDC_OpenFileEx (...) I get an error-6204 DDC_UnexpectedError.

In any case, I thought I must be missing some components, and after some trial and error I finally understood that to get my application runs correctly, I need to install the 'NOR LabView 2011 deployable license' that belongs to the duration of LabView 2011 Installer (I don't actually install the runtime engine itself, just the deployable license).  It seems that this installs the License Manager OR who has no effect except the report as "No installed licenses".  Quite frankly, this is meaningless.  Why NOT-ICU does not require the License Manager?  Is this the intended behavior or is this a bug?  Are there other components should I install to make sure that the NOR-USI will work properly?  Thank you.

    Hey tstanley,

Thank you for sending me the files you did. They helped me to get to the bottom of the issue. NOR-ICU is based on Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Runtime, which is not included in the component of NOR-USI. This is usually not noticed because CVI runtime engine does include, as well as several other software packages such as licensing Manager OR. It can also be the case that some users have already installed. However, if your distribution uses merge module for the RTE CVI deployment (either you have disabled some of the subcomponents of the RTE in the distribution or if you have chosen to install the RTE in the application directory), then MSVC 2005 is not included in your Setup.

There are two simple solutions to avoid this problem:

    1. Include the RTE CVI full in your distribution.
    2. Install the redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 on the system target (you could package installer in your distribution). You can download it from Microsoft here.

  • security breach critical firefox? does not require master password

I put with a master password in firefox. When I start the computer and firefox, it opens the browser to the way I saved him when I stopped. This includes the sites that require passwords. They all open with no password request. Then randomly at a time later asked me the master password. Shouldn't it ask the password first, before opening protected sites?

    It's a little complicated.

If you allow sites to set persistent cookies to keep you logged between sessions, Firefox never needs to use your password saved; you are already on each visit to both Firefox keeps the cookie (weeks, months or years depending on what the site specified).

Alternatively, if you limit the sites to the definition of session cookies, after you close Firefox, these cookies are normally deleted. But there is an exception for the windows and tabs you left pending.

When you restore a previous session, Firefox reverts this session cookies, including those you kept connected sites. Secure sites (HTTPS) are treated differently depending on when you restore your session:

    • When Firefox is set to start automatically with windows and tabs: secure session cookies are maintained and restored. Your registered username is unnecessary and not used.
    • When Firefox is set to start at the top with a home page, and you have the ability to restore your previous session manually: secure session cookies are ignored. You will need to identify yourself again.

So, if (1) allow you sites to set persistent cookies, or (2) have set to restore your previous session of Firefox, and you do not close the session, it would be normal that no logon is required when revisiting the secured sites.

To make sure that this does not happen, you have a few different options:

    (1) use only session cookies AND change some hidden settings to ensure that they are not saved when your session is restored; or

    (2) delete all cookies at the stop.

I can list for those steps if you are interested.

  • Why Firefox Sync does not work on my home network, but at work?

Firefox Sync on my laptop does not work when my laptop is connected to my home network, but for example if I'm at my desk.

The internet connection in my house is fine, I can surf the web with this same Firefox on IPv4 and IPv6, DNS etc. also works. Connection to accounts.firefox.com works also, as Firefox for the sync account. Only the synchronization process runs aground. On my desktop at home, I have exactly the same problems. When I open https://sync-209-us-west-2.sync.services.mozilla.com/ in a browser tab, I see a confirmation message that synchronization runs on this server, so apparently the network path between my computer and this server is free.

After investigation with Wireshark, I see the TLS negotiation successfully, then packages the client was able to respond and after some time, the server closes the connection (encrypted alert). Apparently, no content is transferred between the client and the server. I have attached a screenshot of how Wireshark sees the conversation between the server and the client (sending pictures here did not work so I put on the web: http://ibin.co/1zXABHKdj5mA).

To exclude a possible configuration problem or bad module, I created a clean Firefox profile and logged into my account in Firefox, but this shows exactly the same problems.

Fun fact: Firefox on my Android phone will sync on my home network.

Below, I will link two logs, a successful synchronization (corporate network) and a synchronization failed (home network):
    Sync @ Office: http://pastebin.com/rZmfrbdL
    Sync @ home: http://pastebin.com/a3KUCevJ

The problem seems to be with your ISP - you can refer to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1118958 and they may be able to find a workaround by changing your diet or to help you configure a different MTU for the network.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why Firefox 4 does not support Norton Passcards?

Download Firefox 4 and find it does not support the State of Norton toolbar. This means that I can't use Norton Passcards so that he has always worked with the previous version. If I go back to version 3 cards working again? If this isn't the case, I'll have to uninstall Firefox and return to Internet Explorer.

Symantec made an update for their Add-ons to work in Firefox 4, but they only reported them as being compatible with Firefox 4.0, they need to update them to let their work in Firefox 4.0.1. • Why Firefox 5 does not read the video tags HTML5?

Trying to get HTML5 video to work in Firefox 4 and 5. It does not work. I used Fireogg to process the video, but all I get is a large "X" on the screen. The code I am using works in Safari, Opera and Chrome. This has happened for months now and I don't appreciate having to go through hoops to do such a simple thing for Firefox. This is absurd. All other browsers work. Find the code below.

  • Store does not recognize my administrator user account when you try to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows

I bought an Inspiron 17 7737 directly from dell.com on 05/12/2013.  It was delivered 12/182013.  The operating system was Windows 8.  I had assumed that he would have the last version of Windows when it has happened since 8.1 was released in October. I opened the app Store and the Windows 8.1 upgrade was not available for me.  I realized it was one problem for others and that he has not pursued further at that time.  I was out of town for 2 weeks in January and has not used the laptop during this 2 week period.  When I got home, I opened the store and found placed prominently on the invitation to the free update to 8.1. I signed up using the administrator account and when I hit the download button for 8.1. I received the message "You must use an account with administrator privileges to install Windows 8.1, try connecting with the user of an administrator on this PC account and try the update again".  I checked my account has administrator privileges and tried again and got the same message. I created another user account and gives privileges to administrator and try the download again signed on this account and received the same message.  I called technical support and for more than 5 hours on 2 different days, the technician tried to solve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows updates. When that has not resolved the problem, it "refreshed" my PC which I understood to be given to the State at the time of delivery. He had to do all the Windows (about 65) updates and tried to re-download 8.1.  This does not change the error message when you try to download at 8.1.  At that time, I was told that they were raising a technical team that search every newspaper in my machine and find a solution.  They said they'd call me at the time where there is a solution. Although my administrator account has not been recognized during an attempt to make the download 8.1, it acknowledged the role of the administrator when the technician needed administrative approval to all uninstall and reinstall activities in trying to solve the problem.

Everyone knows about this problem?  It is resolved, and if so, how is it resolved?

You are not alone. Many have had the same problem with no resolution. I think there's something funny to do with user accounts. Making a second account with admin privleges does not work. I would try to reinstall the operating system of hidden image and try again. A refresh like tried Dell will not do because it retains much of the data before the update; you need a clean start. Do nothing witht the account Admin other than to let Windows put up and set your password. All updates must be installed before the upgrade is displayed in the store. I have improved five facilities to win 8 and have had zero problems.

  • registered shortcuts on the desktop does not open on a user account, but will be on the other account

If you right click and save the web page at the top of the office it will open and operate very well on a user account, but not on the other account they are all two administor account

    What is the solution

Hello! :) I think that if you try to go to the Web page that you saved to the original account and save this page on the desktop on that account, it should work. I think they are two separate, accounts and so maybe that's why we couldn't see the shortcut on the other account. I really hope this helps. :)

  • Check box does not appear in the user accounts (netplwiz) Win 8 "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

I'm trying to implement the autologon 8 Win who was working a moment fact either. I tried the suggested solution of unchecking the checkbox in the user accounts, but this choice does not appear. I'm not on a domain, just a regular home network.

    It worked for me.

I set up an email on my desktop and it applied security policies.  I deleted the account and password policies remained.

This has removed the policies, and now I'm able to connect without a pw again!

    Thank you!

  • Category of user accounts keep "logout" as soon as the password is typed in and click on the button "Enter". This does not happen when the user account Standard is passed to a user account administrator.

Problem connecting to the computer. Commissioning is fine and all the "Administrator"users can log in and go online. " all standard users just have a message "connect to the wide" and can not same acess to the start menu.

Maybe you want to experiment to see if you children have corrupted their user profiles.
Sign in to your admin account, set up a NEW standard user account, give it a password.
Log this new user account. Is it effective?
If so, you should "delete" user accounts for your children and start again.
Note: If you start to remove their accounts, read the instructions. You have the option to SAVE your kids except their e-mail data.
