Why is sound very quiet on my Satellite A100-447

Hello.

The sound has always been very quiet on my laptop - the speakers a little noise, and with headphones it is barely audible.

All the usual signs of control volume are 100% and its facilitating registration on balance volume, but built-in speakers might as well not be there. Please could you suggest what goes wrong?

I've had the computer for 6 months and it has always been like that. Thank you very much.

I can't give you a professional advice on sound intensity because I can't hear it. Who knows maybe the laptop provides a volume normal, but you mean that he s too quiet.

Generally all the volume controls must be defined on the level higher then you should get the best volume.

If you think that there is something wrong with the speakers, ask ASP for a control of the laptop!

Good luck

  • Problem in installing drivers Sound and Bluetooth in a Satellite A100-712

    Hello everyone

I have formatted the hard drive of my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-712, downloaded the sound and drivers BT of this amazing site.

But there is still a problem.
In Device Manager, there are yellow signs with the realtek drivers and bt. I don't know what to do?

Please, you can list the steps for a correct installation for these drivers?

    Hello

First question: why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery CD?
This CD contains all the drivers, tools and utilities, and you do not have to install any drivers separately

Secondly: The Toshiba driver page, you should find the installation instructions document
Just follow the order of installation mentioned in the txt file and everything should work!

PS: Don't forget to use the right drivers. I think that the A100-712 is outside the PSAA9E series

  • Sound cracks and click on - Satellite A100

I have Toshiba Satellite A100. Every time when I listen to music (or anything else), my laptop is cracking & click on about 6 times per minute. Even the new good firewire soundcard Echo could not change the situation. May be the reason for this are the stops & new twists on the fan of the laptop, because the last of them do it several times per minute.

It bothers assign them and encourage them to throw my computer out the window. All the sounds of the music like the old cracked discs. Does anyone know how I can improve the situation & solve this problem?

    Hey Buddy,

I think that the best way to try to fix this problem is to update the BIOS most recent update your chipset driver and sound (perhaps the rather on the realtek site would be the best-> www.realtek.com) and the most important thing is to use the forum search because there may be other people who probably had a similar problem.

It would be good to check this announcement:

  • Satellite A100-447 - DVD player does not read some discs

    Hello

    I have a 4 month old Satellite 100-447 (PSAAN), came preloaded with Vista Home Premium and a carpet * CD/DVD super-multi UJ-850 s player.

The DVD player does not work properly. It will recognize a few blank, but never DVD-R DVD and won't recognise any DVD at all serious. He is very good with CD and DVD movie discs. It's just recordable DVD where there is a problem.

Also when you try to write to a DVD, when he chooses to recognize a TI-error in half way through.

    What can I do?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    You can do the follwowing:

    Go to this website http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp,

Download the latest update of the firmware for this drive, install it, and then try again.

Sometimes, the manufacturer must update their readers for the newer recordable media and so I think that it is possible that your drive is simply not up to date.

    Welcome them

  • Equium A110-223 sound very quiet

    Hello
The sound on my A110-223 stopped working a couple of days. When you activate all volume to maximum settings, you can just hear it. I tried to re-loading the driver, but it still doesn't work. any suggestions? Thanks Mark

Have you checked the position of the volume control on the side of the laptop?
Try to connect the headphones. If the volume is ok if you forgot a volume control in the sound settings, or there is something wrong with the speakers.

  • Very good work for Satellite A100-207 equipped with a graphics card

    Hello world

most people know that graphical embedded or the graphic fight shared with high-end gaming. Well I'm pretty much playing pro Evo Soccer 6 on my pc at home with an old Prophet 3d geforce card. Now, imagine my surprise to play on my intel A100-207 standard work.

It was far less detailed, but when I plugged an external monitor to the laptop even better.
Don't know why, but this game shouldn't turn it on at all.
I am very happy with the model indeed.

    It's nice

    Hello

I can only confirm your suggestion. I have another laptop Satellite but it also supports a shared memory graphics card. Many games run properly on it. Of course, I have to change the level of graphical detail at a lower stage, but it works.

I think that sheared memory cards are not really bad. Many applications heavy performance (games) run correctly, but with a little lower graphic details.

  • No sound from the left speaker Satellite A100-225

In recent weeks I've been making a crackling sound on my harman/kardon speakers laptop computer. Crackling seems to be more inside the left hand. But now the spekaer is almost dead. the sound is very low. The right handspeaker is fine.
It all seemed to develop after you install an update to Windows XP. Then, I got an error message when I logged in was so tro download a fxi for windows web site. Since then, the speakers got slowly worse.

Any ideas? What is the problem and how to fix it?

    Hello

I noticed a few problems with the Realtek HD audio chip after an update from Microsoft. This issue has already been discussed here in the forum:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=21936

Please check the solution provided in the thread above.

But in my opinion that it is hardware problem seems the left speaker has disappeared and the replacement is necessary.

  • Strange problem with card sound and speakers on my Satellite A100

    Hi all

I bought a Platinum ION (which converts documents in digital format) and oddly I can't find their tech support site (but this is another story, I guess).

I connected it via USB on my laptop A100...

Vista installed some drivers and now my speakers do not work - (peripheral output Audio n is installed - says VISTA).

I tried a VISTA system restore (which failed) and a (just as ineffective) BIOS update. Now I think I want to re - install regardless of its card driver has the A100. Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Ty.

    Hello

It's really weird that a USB turntable brings speakers do not want to work more. I suggest you to visit the Web to Realtek site (since your audiochipset is a realtek HD) and reinstall the drivers.

Just go to the main site and download drivers, hope it helps: www.realtek.com

Welcome and I would appreciate if you give some information about your situation.

  • Satellite A100-447 does not accept the 1 GB of flash memory or a memory stick?

I've had my laptop since March and have used a compact flash 128 or 256 MB via adapter without any problem.
However, I have now bought a 1 GB (for my Eos 300 d) but my laptop says cannot find software?

I then bought a memory stick USB 2.0 1 GB, but my laptop does not accept that no more? In both cases, it search in windows for the solution, and then asks for the disc accompanying the material. My husband (good PC knowledge) is at a lost as I am.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

A moment please. talk you about the USB drive that is plugged into the USB port?

Well, usually all USB devices should be recognized without any bigger problems.
Sometimes the 3rd devices come with a driver, but usually the operating system should be recognized as a new device!

Are you using the Vista operating system?

If Yes, please disconnect all USB devices and remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager.
Reboot the laptop. After the operating system has loaded the ports should be recognised again. Then you should try to plug the USB again.

PS: Please check if Vista has been updated! This Microsoft document describes several USB with Vista problem and provides a new patch:

  • Satellite A100-445 - HDD is full

I have a Satellite A100-447 purchased a few years previously and only really use it for internet and to store the MP3 filesc.

However, I notice that my C drive continues in full without reason - I save not on this disc.
Is this a problem with Vista or my laptop automatically saving things without knowing me?

I share the laptop with another user if that makes a difference, but once they use it only for the same reasons as me.

My username betrays the fact that I know very little about computers!

    What should I say?
I put t know how much you saved on the laptop and I also have files don t know how much files another user saved on this subject.

Normally, a Windows Vista installation needs up to 8 GB so I think that your HARD drive is not small and I doubt that will automatically save Windows files that you don't know.
I think in your case, you should start to remove the files that you do not need, for example, temporary internet files, cookies,
In addition, you could save your data on external devices such as USB keys or external hard drives.

  • Satellite A100-680: PnP BIOS Extension missing driver

I searched for about one hour now, other threads from reading and the search manually through the database of the driver, but I can't find any useful information.

As you can see from the following screenshot...
    ... I am missing a driver.

I'm sure that the driver is listed, but it can also be saved under another name. This isn't something I'm infamiliar of searched a lot on other sites (Acer, HP, etc.) for drivers of other computers in my work.

    Anyway.
The reason why this driver is missing on my * Satellite A100-680 * is that my antivirus detects it as a keylogger. This is not the first time that this happens, and I can easilly restore virus vault if I want to. However, this is something I really wish to do.

This problem also occurred with some of my audio drivers earlier, as well as the driver associated with TOSHIBA Hotkey functions. (Solved).

In order to check for me if my antivirus detects a false positive or not, I would like to find the driver and install it.
If after this my antivirus detects it as a keylogger, it was just all along.
If it detects it as a keylogger, I treat the result as a false positive and add it to the white list.

My Toshiba is a Satellite A100-680, running Win XP Home edition.
The version of the BIOS is "Phoenix Technologies LTD. 1.70, 11.05.2006" (from msinfo) (whether this info is helpful at all is beyond me...)
    SMBIOS version 2.31 (new msinfo.)

If you need additional information in order to help me, please indicate what information you need.

    TTRM

Have you tried to remove this device in the Device Manager list and restart the laptop?
Try this! After restarting again the operating system must search for the driver and must be reinstalled this device automatically.

By the way: Satellite A100-680 belongs to the PSAA9E series.
The European driver Toshiba page provides up-to-date BIOS 6, 00 - WIN for this device
Recommends the installation of the Modules common to XP and BIOS update.

  • Satellite A100 - 01 L (PSAAR): XP sound driver need

    Hello

I need a sound driver for my laptop. It is a 01 L A100 (PSAAR). For PSAAR are just Vista drivers online... but I need one for XP... I tried all PSAA9 audio drivers... but they don't work! :(

I don't know why... I hope toshiba will publish drivers for PSAAR for XP soon, too... anyone know what driver would work? (Sorry for my English... I am from the Germany)

    Hello

The laptop uses a Realtek ALC861 audio chip.
Therefore, take a look on the realtek site and download the driver that supports this chip!

But it's very strange. Satellite A100 PSAA9E series uses the same sound chip and driver XP it works also on your laptop.

A tip: If the sound card has been recognized in the Device Manager, the driver is OK. In this case, you will need to check the volume and controls.

  • Satellite A100-803 - no sound

    Hello

    I have a toshiba Satellite A100-803 model No. PSAANE-02502USP

But now the sound does not work with windows 7 64 bit, then I install linux ubuntu, but the sound does not work.
    Could you help me?

    Thank you very much

Did you check if the sound would work using the wired headset?
    If this isn't it.

If speakers would work, please go to the
Control Panel - sound - control devices and check if speakers appear in the list of devices. If the speakers are listed, mark the speakers as the default device.
