A technician called "Microsoft" with great concern that my computer was about to crash because unsolicited unwanted files. It showed that my MIscrosoft safety has been exceeded. He explained that he was going to work remotely on my computer. The end result would be a clean computer and a free upgrade from Windows xp to 7. The lifetime warranty would amount to $89.00. He was going to be paid by Western Union transfer (I think) by entering my credit card number. The money would be wired to the India. The recipient was a name of person, not from Microsoft. I stopped there. I asked another way to pay. Apparently, someone would call me for payment. No call yet. Ten minutes after I hung up the phone before my eyes, I saw my moving mouse and registration to the Bank again! I hit Ctrl Alt Delete. He seemed to stop him. Goose bumps! Then, I saw a file begin to open upwards! Yet once, I hit Ctrl Alt Delete. I hope that little ball, but I'm afraid not. I had my credit card number has changed.

I'm panicked. Can someone make me feel better? This is how Microsoft technicians is paying?

Because you allowed them access to your computer, you must assume that any personal information that is on your system is in their possession, including credit card and banking data. You must immediately contact ALL your financial institutions.

It is also advisable to format your drive and reinstall Windows XP using all new usernames and passwords.

    I got an email stating that I need to confirm my bank details I have to renew my account at the end of August.  When I followed the instructions, I tells me that none of my computers is known, but I tried to renew the same I used successfully last year - it is a hacker or was it really a true application of microsoft?  I use the same email address, I've used for years and have never had this problem before - what's going on please?  Needless to say, I will not give my bank details current in everything that I do not trust!

    You are quite right to be wary of all the emails asking for personal information - including bank details. My advice is to ignore all the links and contact information on the email and call rather the company that manages the 'account' independently using well known coordinates.

    Never provide details of credit card or bank account by email - this isn't sure. That's why companies employ Web pages secure (locks in the address bar http) for the web browsers to use such information.

    The. QIF file is and ASCII text file. While you can view and edit the file in any text editor, be very careful as the format of the file and the order of the items in the file are essential for the proper execution of the file.

    You will need to check your Google settings for which e-mail addresses are notified. If Google Calendar Notification sends to your iCloud email address, the address must be registered somewhere in the settings.
