  The 'Tools' button should be on the menu bar. If you don't see the Menu bar not do back the following to get it

  • Press the ALT key.
  • Go to view > toolbars > customize
  • Click on the restore default set
  • Click OK

• Problem with the tool brush painting

  When I use the paint brush tool it is automatically detcting the color in the photo that I used on another layer, even if I delete this layer, but I want to just paint to be black. I tried to create a new document and using the same bag, but when I try and paint nothing happens. Does anyone know what I'm missing / how to help?

  The regular brush tool is simply not available?  Or are you simply not it see in the tools Panel?  If the latter, keep in mind several tools may occupy the same place.  Click and hold on the icon just above the tool shape history, then select the Brush tool.

  If you try to paint a solid color, the tool shape history or Art History Brush are simply the wrong tools.

  Recently, I tried to use the adjustment brush to add som color white/facts highlights, without success. I learned that the color chosen for the adjustment brush will blend with the underlying colors. The surroundings were colorful as expected, however apperently no effect on white blown highlights. I'm doing something wrong?

  Try to re - set preferences.

  Go to: Edit > preferences > general (menu Photoshop Elements on Mac)

  Click on the button Reset preferences on the next launch

• Load the images in the slide show before ugly background color

  I'm doing a site based on a template Freeccs.  This particular model was chosen because my client wants a slideshow on each page, and it is one that is generated by javascript.

  The problem is the following: such as load images for the slideshow, a bright red background color fills the space where the images will be displayed on-screen.

  Can someone tell me how to change the red background to something less distracting, like a dark gray?  I guess that the javascript code sets the color, but I don't know javascript.

• Option-click for the clone stamp does not. I've tried several suggested fixes, no results. Help!

  Howdy!

  I searched and found similar questions on the forum and I tried all the solutions proposed, that I could find, but I'm still not resolve this issue. Hoping that maybe someone found a fix!

  The problem is that the option - click to set a point source for the Clone Stamp tool does not work, but the behavior seems to be particularly odd.

  With the Clone Stamp selected, tool if I press the option key pressed, I get the crosshairs target little, which makes me think that Photoshop is the option key is read and is not a recovery program of her clutter. When I then try to use the clone stamp, however, I get the dreaded error message:

  "Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a point source)."

  I went through all the relevant troubleshooting steps, I could find elsewhere on the forum. I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop and my BONES. I tried to reset the tool. When this does not work, I reset the Photoshop preferences. I have disabled all the other programs that seemed that they might have some sort of overlay keyboard shortcut, but as mentioned, Photoshop DO change the cursor when I press the option key, which makes me think (although I am far from being an expect) is not the issue. I have no plugins or mods or anything of this nature that is installed. It is a completely vanilla installation.

  I am under Photoshop CC 2015.1.2 20160113.r.355 x 64.  My OS is El Capitan 10.11.2.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated. As far as I know, there is no work around. This tool is dead in the water for me until I can sort this out.

  I have to admit, I'm puzzled. Everything seems as it should. The tool has been reset, preferences reset and the layer looks very good. I wonder if it is a question with El Capitan. I use Windows, but know that Photoshop has had problems when El Capitan came out. If you have not used the clone 6 months stamp then it would have been pre - El Capitan. Have you tried completely uninstalling Photoshop, restart the computer and reinstall?

  I want to encrypt email attachments.  The tools on the right pane, or under view tools can I get the button of Protection I need to encrypt and set a password for the pdf file.  Why do I not have this option and how do I get it?

  Because the Protection is a feature of Acrobat Pro ONLY.

  Also encryption is also available in format Acrobat (Standard or Pro) only.

• The tool brush Flash CC suddenly stops drawing when the step is small

  When you use the Brush tool, I have a problem that will be the race I paint abrupty cut at one point on the screen (about halfway to the bottom of the screen, it does not concern the position of the canvas or the coordinates).  This seems to happen when I have the scene size set to a smaller size (64 x 64 pixels for example).  I was able to reproduce the same behavior on several files and a Windows 8.1 machine and a Windows 7 machine, both using the updated version of Flash CC.  Both machines are double monitor, I'm not sure if that plays a factor.

  To reproduce:

  1. create a new FLA in Flash CC and set the size of the scene to 64 x 64 pixels.

  2. use the Brush tool and try to shoot from the top to the bottom of the screen (zoom level and position on the canvas is okay, as long as your cursor is going to the top of your screen to the bottom of your screen).

  3. the race cuts abruptly Mid-drawing at some point on the screen, about half way down.  You can continue to draw and move to the top, and it reappears when it crosses the barrier again.

  This does not occur if the size of the scene has something bigger (640 x 480, for example).  This also happens in Flash CS5 or CS6 and have noticed only happens in Flash CC.

  What is happening with the mouse to draw and also happened when I tested it on another PC with an attached Wacom tablet.

  Is what is happening to the other institutions, and is at - it a fix for this problem?  (aside, always using a size big stage)

  I think that this field allows an option button (or maybe a shortcut in option) that would start the tool placed in the field target.

  Smart pixel rendering object layer cannot be changed. They can be ordered on with filters and adjustment layers.  Do not use tool on them that actually change the pixels in layers. You may not use the erasers, brushes or filter them directly.  All smart object layers have a transform associated with the scale the layers.  The transformation is as a smart filter. The associated transformation turns to smart object layers made of pixels on a different scale. The pixels of the layer are not actually changed.

  What you are experiencing is not a bug it's a correct operation.

• Change in behavior of the option-click on the layer Photoshop CC - layers now flatten/disappear

  I used the option click on layers all the time to perform various tasks. Now, in Photoshop 2014.2.2 CC I can no longer option + click on a layer to copy a layer effect or apply a clipping mask. Instead, as soon as I click on a layer with the option engaged, key all layers disappear / flatten in a "background layer".

  What has changed? And how can I now copy effects from one layer to another layer? The documentation says 'drag to the destination layer', but this simply moves the effect from one layer to another, does not copy it. Dragging allows you to copy an effect, but now, any use of the option key flattens all the layers together.

  Ehh, that shouldn't happen. I just used this feature in Photoshop CC 2014 and it worked fine. Maybe you should try a reset preference: Hold Cmd + Opt + shift as you start Photoshop start. Select 'Yes' when asked if you want to continue with reset.
