Why ORA-01103 when create controlfile for extreme synchronization?

Hi all! I have a small question: I created on the cluster of production on a single node of the control for the extreme instance of sync file:

ALTER DATABASE CREATE FAR SYNC INSTANCE CONTROLFILE AS ' / data / control01.ctl';

I copied it to the instance far sync (name far_sync). I also changed the pfile file (pfile used in production, has changed all far_sync instance), copied the password file.

When I start the instance of far_sync, I get:

Total System Global Area 1, 2827E + 11 bytes

Bytes of size 4666648 fixed

Variable of size 1, 2348E + 10 bytes

Database buffers 1, 1570E + 11 bytes

Redo buffers 225406976 bytes

ORA-01103: Datenbankname 'RC' in Kontrolldatei ist nicht "FAR_SYNC".

So easy that I wrote is it not to create the instance of synchronization up to now.

I googled for samples in the HowTo

Any idea?

Thank you very much

Greetings from Berlin

Micha

Hello

who is this doc?

Which is as you mentioned the name? db_name or db_unique_name.

dataguard db_name enviroinment must be same as well side and db_unique_name must be different.  I'm not German

ORA-01103: Datenbankname 'RC' in Kontrolldatei ist nicht "FAR_SYNC" <=>ORA-01103: name 'RC' in the control of the database file is not "FAR_SYNC".

in fact the error was clear

db_name, in the controlfile is not equal db_name in the pfile file

Please see the following documents for name standart

  • ORA-01103 - restoration of database for the new name.

Hi, I am looking to restore a database from a backup to cold. RMAN is not, it is just a backup of operating system level.

    The technical details are
    Windows 2003
    Oracle 11.1

What has happened is - I upgraded our database of development of 11.1, 11.2 and we discovered a bug, so I want to restore the database in the instance of 11.1. Version 11.2 of the database is running, people use, we have a work around, so I can't delete this database. What I want to do is create a new instance to 11.1 restore all files/etc/files of control data, the file of configuration settings and start the database, of course I had to use another name.

However, the problem I see is
ORA-01103: name of the 'ALPHA' database in the control file is not "ALPHADB". ALPHADB is the new database. I thought to do the backup to retrace and recreate control files, but I can't mount the database. I did "backup to trace" on the OLD database.

    Advice please?

    Database is in archivelog mode.

I'm trying to recover a database according to a backup controlfile to trace #2. Create the controlfile works very well, but recover the database fails.

What worries me is that the value #2 of the controlfile to trace the contours of the database backup can be recovered even with the lack of recovery online newspapers, but apparently this is not the case. What I also don't understand, is why he simply not restore using the information of the archivelogs. The database was not shut down properly, but isn't always the case when you lose again-online newspapers?

Here is the text of the controlfile.sql

    -Set #2. RESETLOGS case

-The following commands will create a new control file and use
    -to open the database.
-The data used by the Recovery Manager will be lost.
-The content of online newspapers will be lost and all backups
-be invalidated. Use this option only if online newspapers are damaged.

You are right. But it is especially the case.perform, create the new database and will stop immediately (without demolition) and remove newspapers online OS level. And try to recover the database using backup controlfile until cancel or just recover database until cancel then enter Word Cancel and resetlogs option database open. It will work. Because it actually do not need any recovery operation. But your case you need to recover the database. You consider backup restore las and perform incomplete recovery. I think you can do the first test.

    Hello
I suggest you to see these steps:

    • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
    • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
    • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
    • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
    • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
    • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

    Hi pdaamckechnie,

The ASF Format (Advanced Systems) is the preferred Windows Media file format. With Windows Media Player, if the appropriate codecs are installed on your computer, you can play audio content, video content, or both, that is compressed with a wide variety of codecs and that is stored in an .asf file.

You execute a CREATE CONTROLFILE statement.
    All data files are listed.
The data files must reside in these places or the statement fails.
I don't see any problem. If the data files are in a different location, simply change the sql code.
As we do not have the content of the declaration, and you did not sb90275, what type of assistance do you need?
